Let’s not compare Anna’s experience to 9/11. She knew who her husband was before he married her. Knew he molested 4 of his sisters, one of them as young as *5*, and family friend. She continued to ignore the red flags during their marriage when he admitted to cheating on her and being a member of Ashley Madison. Again, she chooses to hide her head in the sand after the CP investigation began. That’s where the sympathy ends. Yes she was raised in a cult, but that’s not an excuse, she still has a brain and common sense… you would think. If it looks like a duck, and walks like a duck… come on. In regard to parental rights and the "lack of evidence" which allows him to see his kids : There will continue to be a " lack of evidence" as long as the court tolerates the Duggars non cooperation with having the children evaluated by CPS. I am increasingly worried as his behavior appears to be compulsive and with all of the restrictions, his own kids are all he has access to. TERRIFYING.
To me, it is irresponsible to NOT evaluate Josh’s kids and to also allow contact. The children’s safety should come first. What was on his computer even involved a child losing their life in the CSA … seems pretty serious… I hope as things progress his children are evaluated.
I feel so bad for the children but also the officer’s especially the ones that have children. I don’t know how they do it (I’m glad they do but wish that they didn’t have to). Thank you Katie for keeping us informed and glad your wee boy is okay.

If you refuse, they can get a warrant. If they can’t get a warrant, they can’t question them. The court will appoint them a guardian ad litem who will argue for them in court of CPS persists. Been through this myself- tho in my case it was false malicious reporting. My neighbor who knew us well was a cop and advised me. Luckily, when CPS tried to bring the cops in, he was the one that came with. I let him in but wouldn’t let her. He’s the one who told me the law. She never came back because they couldn’t get a warrant based on anonymous calls- which we later found out were my friend’s CPS worker, for four of her kids adopted out of the foster system, whose bad actions against my friend got her fired and fined. She had to pay all of my legal fees. She lost her certifications when they discovered it was her harassing me. A children’s court judge got fired in all of this as well.

He has had pneumonia 3 times (he has scars on his lungs from it, which,makes him more susceptible to any lung illness,) the flu countless times..basically any childhood illness they can get, he's had. Exactly, if there was too long a gap with no activity on Covenant Eyes she might get suspicious, (like when your kids get too quiet) so he was doing some minimal trivial things on the 'clean' side of the partition at the same time. He was creating an alibi for himself which ironically will help to convict him! It places him at computer at the specific time.
I wonder if part of why he wasn’t kept from his kids us that there isn’t evidence found involving them wIth THIS case so far. While it seems plain to me that they are at risk from him, given that he already crossed the sibling taboo - he was not convicted of anything regarding his sisters. So that can’t be held against him in this case.
I can't even imagine how many compromises he's probably pushed her into in their marital life. When I think about the level of manipulation that she's been exposed to it makes me angry. She deserves better and I hope she realizes this someday.

There were no valid reasons to keep him in jail. They have to offer bail. His release conditions are very normal for all those facing CP charges.

The problem with Anna is, she was raised in this cult, her folks are deep in this crap! Back when this first came out about Josh, her family told her they would disown her! They have never supported her! There is no way she will leave Josh! And that’s so sad, they are so indoctrinated, there is no hope for them!! He has had pneumonia 3 times (he has scars on his lungs from it, which,makes him more susceptible to any lung illness,) the flu countless times..basically any childhood illness they can get, he's had. Its a terrifying thing when your child (no matter what age) is sick and you can't help them. Im so sorry to hear that about your son. Im sure mine secretly hates me right now because we've had to keep him in a bubble for going on two years now, but, im hoping one day he understands.

The family doctor kept saying it was nothing. It was pneumonia and a SEVERE cat allergy- we had several cats. I sort of aged out of the majority of my asthma as long as I stay away from cats and don’t breathe cold air.

From the sounds of this transcript, he is a very dangerous person and who knows what else he is capable of. It also sounds like the govt has a strong case. Heart mama here too! I know this comment is super late after posting. My heart dropped when she said open heart surgery. My little girl was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and passed away after her second OHS. So glad your little boy is doing well. Once a heart mama always one ❤

Josh took pics of his office and let many people know he was there so he could convince Anna that he had to stay at work. But that's what is convicting him; his own desire to hide his behavior from Anna which led him to place himself at the computer during the downloads.

Exactly, if there was too long a gap with no activity on Covenant Eyes she might get suspicious, (like when your kids get too quiet) so he was doing some minimal trivial things on the 'clean' side of the partition at the same time. He was creating an alibi for himself which ironically will help to convict him! It places him at computer at the specific time.

I wonder if part of why he wasn’t kept from his kids us that there isn’t evidence found involving them wIth THIS case so far. While it seems plain to me that they are at risk from him, given that he already crossed the sibling taboo - he was not convicted of anything regarding his sisters. So that can’t be held against him in this case.
And poor Anna, I believe that she'll understand the situation as herself not being "joyfully available" enough...

If you've got a story line you enjoy covering and people just aren't watching it, it might help to do a recap for new watchers from time to time. Surely Anna has heard all of this while in court at least the fact that he covered up being at work while watching this horror. That alone should be enough for her to understand her husband is far from who she believes he is. She really must get herself and her children away from all this. It's all so awful. To know JOSH'S PARENTS know all this and still are remotely supportive of him...it's all so out of my ability to understand. Josh must go to prison for the maximum to protect everyone.
