Oh man, I just found you and this is the first of your videos I’ve watched. Exactly what I was looking for. Excited to see what you have in your other videos.👍
I tried to get a Sunoven here to Holland but the price is so high when importing from US. Beside cooking you can dry food. Specifically good for the sunny PH I guess. I think a good market as well beside selling water.
@@PHExpatPrepper well with the Sunoven you could first let it stand in the sun whole day and if necessary little while in the oven...so save energy costs. Anyway all nice projects to keep you occupied
Hi there, I'm also a fan of freeze drying. I also have a freeze dryer from harvest right but mine is the older version with a JB eliminator for a vacuum pump. Is there another easier way to contact you, perhaps we can share insights especially regarding troubleshooting the freeze dryer issues.
Hi, how much is the total cost including the delivery fee and Philippine customs charges? I am planning to buy the same item too? How about the voltage of the machine?Do I need to buy a specific connector or any accessories needed other than the freeze dryer? Do you have any information about the electric consumption? I hope you just make more videos regarding this machine including the do's and dont's in using it. Hope you have time to answer my questions or make a video about it. Thank you so much. Mabuhay !
Hi.. I have a video (the very first one I did) that had the costs, shipping, and customs. they have a 220v version You will need a dedicated 30amp circuit. Depending on how stable your home power is you may want to get a large UPS like I did. So can run up to 10 minutes if the power flicks. Electric is not much more than a 2hp aircon from what I can tell from my meralco bill.
@@pamelalopez5991 I have done this once before. Keep in mind it takes 30-40 hours for the batch to run. Maybe if you ship me the sample.. I can dry for you. Pero talaga, you need to pay for meralco, and return shipping. Email me for more.
My goodness, with the heat here, it's going to be challenging to freeze dry. But I can't help but say... "sana all!!!" haha. How was it? I'm seeing a lot of condensation, hope your machine can stand the heat.
@@sidneymarkanimos9825 look at my older videos. one of the very first shows the costs and fee's I paid. Price of the unit and such might be different today.
This is normal, especially with foods that have a lot of water content. If you see my videos.. there is ALWAYS a large ring of Ice. What is 'too much' for you?
I just used up the last of the oil that came with the freezer. I sourced some higher end oil from the US, it took a while to get here actually. later I will go upstairs and figure out the brand. But again, I went with the option for higher end (expensive) oil from the US.
Do you pre-freeze the trays in a freezer before putting in the FD? Only occasionally I will have on the bottom try the ice on the wall touching the actual tray. But I prefreeze all my trays first.
How much did you pay on top of the freeze dry machine for them to deliver to the Philippines? I mean the freight and taxes, etc? How did you buy your freeze dry machine? How did you pay for it?
Hi, One of the first video's I did covered shipping (air freight) and customs. I am not sure what currents rates would be. I ordered it online from Harvestright.com Choose the international link to make sure I got the 220v version. I have an affiliate link if you wish to use.. thanks
Hi sir! Hope you're doing okay. May I ask the name of the sales representative that assisted you throughout the process of buying the freeze dryer? (just to be sure I'm talking to the right person) I've been planning to buy one here in the Philippines. And also, how long did you wait for it to be delivered? Thanks so much in advance for your answer.
I worked with "Jared Kay" at harvestright.com the email he uses is anything@harvestright.com I waited about 4 months for it to be built after I paid for it. 220v EU large version.
@@PHExpatPrepperi had a conversation with a sales rep from harvest right but they said they are not shipping here in the philippines and i need to find my own shipping company to have it delivered. Is this correct? How did you have yours shipped?
HI, sure can. harvestright.com is the maker. Visit the site, and you will see a link to the "International Sales" team. They currently have a back order, but that is the normal. You can get on the lists with a minor deposit I believe. Make sure you say your in the PH, so they assemble the correct version and associated pump. Also.. they do sales from time to time and you can save a bit off the over all price. The shipped it FED EX air cargo, not cheap, and PH customs took another bite. But I got it delivered right to my door.
I was the largest at the time I bought it.. its a Harvest Right Large. The have since released a model that is about he same price I originally paid for mine that is twice the capacity. Link in the description for my affiliate if you want.. or you can just go to harvestright.com I think
they have sales often, one of my very first videos have the cost break down for the one I have. Includes shipping, and customs. IF you are thinking of buying one, click on the affiliate link in the description paki.

Yeah.. I am going to be learning as I go. RUclips only shows me so much. But I figured it was a good buy, and will be handy.
put a small fan on the vacuum pump
I do have one I use.. but honestly it does not get that hot.. Not as much as I thought it would anyways. Thanks

Well, I have not had any issues yet... but you can always email me. Look under the 'about' tab to find it.
I tried a similar vacuum sealer and the seals kept leaking after a few months.... I bought a chamber vacuum sealer and it works great.
I can not even get it to vacuum with Mylar bags.

Not at this time, as I still have a lot of personal food I need to prep. What did you have in mind?

So far not an issue, slightly longer times to pre-freeze at the start of a batch. I pre-freeze my trays in a chest freezer first to speed that up.

How much kilowatt per 24 hours of usage?
About the same as running a 2hp aircon. From my best guess
