This channel is about the daily lives and adventures of my 3 indoor cats Santi, Indy & Chewie and our 14 outdoor cats and my dog Walter.
Our outdoor cats are living in our garden and their names are D'Artagnan, The Rolling Cat (Princess), The Purring Cat, D'Artagnan's Girlfriend, Porthos, Zoom, Junior, The Mom Cat, The Big Head, Ruzgar, Nope, Pamuk, Pamuk Jr. and Vasak.

Though the dog has second rate life. Spends most of life in tiny yard, even with daily walk. Walter is now an old dog. Grey nosed. No real dog lover would have an old dog sleeping outside in a cruddy kennel, in sub zero temperatures and snow.
The cats do very well, but no dog lover makes their dog live outside. They live inside, as part of the family. Or at least let Walter sleep in the underfloor heated cat room!
Even the feral cats have as good or better life than Walter, THE family dog.
@@georgielancaster1356 bro what? It’s not uncommon for dogs of any age to spend some time outside. Obviously if he’s getting to that age where human interference is needed, I’m sure they would do it. Don’t be negative. And it’s a channel about the cats so behind the scenes you don’t know what they do for Walter
@@georgielancaster1356 But many people that keep their pets inside house whole life are worse. If you don't have outdoor space for your pet, can't keep them safe in large outdoor area, then don't have pets.

A really positive video about how to help stray cats without depriving them of their freedom. Congratulations for the generous and loving initiative. Only a true animal lover can make his yard available to homeless cats.
I usually don't watch the videos of the "animal rescuers", because I suspect they brought the animals to the critical situation in the first place. And I don't see why I would encourage it by my viewing.
In dramatic situations, when you are asked for help, you help first, you don't really have time for filming.

It's a shame he didn't do the same for Walter. He is locked in a small outdoor enclosure alone in all seasons. Even the cats have access to inside space. It's not right. This dog is isolated and kept separate from his family while the outdoor cats can roam and have access to climate controlled indoor area.

@@Ellie-zd1riWalter does have a channel called Feed and Travel. I believe Walter's owner does take him for walks around the neighborhood every day. He also brings Walter to the country so he can run around. I don't know if he brings Walter into the house?

Looks like every strays in town saw the review and rating of Backyard Airbnb and decided to give it a try. A beautiful yard packed with demanding guests and a very gentle, polite dog!

There's a difference between feral and stray cats. There are all stray cats. Feral cats run away or hide when they see humans.

Not for dogs.
Very few people who see themselves as dog lovers would make a dog sleep outside in a basic cruddy wood dog kennel, in sub zero temperatures, especially as an old grey nosed dog.
He could easily sleep in the underfloor heated cat room. It isn't as though Walter scares any of them.
In dog rescue videos all over the UK. and US, dogs living outside, in cruddy kennels, ESPECIALLY IF WINTERS ARE SUBZERO, is almost the start of every story of a neglected dog. I cannot believe Walter's comfort is not a high priority.
And he does not appear to be regularly in the company of the family. Just stuck in that run, or filmed on the occasional walk with cats.
No regular indoor cuddles. No long periods of hanging out with humans. Poor Walter appears to have a very second rate life.

Of course no dog should be stuck outside like this with access to a house! The man has some cats inside. He keeps Walter locked in small enclosure in ALL seasons! It's wrong. People need to stop accepting this as the way it is. This dog is clearly starved for attention. He may be great with cats, but even the outdoor cats have access to an inside space with food, water, and beds. This is absolutely neglect. Tired of pretending otherwise. Thank you, & thanks to the whole family. Today was not as happy as I had expected, but I am at peace and full of joy watching your fur family. I once had a lot of cats, but I’m older now & have only three. There is a specialness to being the privileged human in the cats’ world. I feel quite happy & relaxed now--puppy treat to Walter and nose boops all around from me & my 3. 😻

I really admire Zoom! In her quiet, dignified way, she rules over the backyard gang. As for Walter's summer clip -- I absolutely love the lion-like tuft on the tip of his clipped tail! He's doing his best to fit in with all of the felines! 😺💕🐾
It was nice to spend some time with the backyard gang. They may not be full-time residents but they're a fun bunch to have around.

I also appreciate your carpentry skills in building dry places for the cats to sleep. So he wags his tail when he sees his family and is happy to see them then all is well? He's locked outside alone. He only gets visits from cats who sneak in. He's not allowed in the house but other cats are. He's stuck out in bitterly cold winters. I understand this man does wonderful things for cats, but we shouldn't make excuses for neglect. It's really heartwarming to see them so well cared for. We just have one cat that hangs out around our door so he has a bed under a chair. He uses it a lot so he must like it. Thank you for the care and kindness you show to all the furry friends who come to your yard. ✌🏻😻🐈⬛🐾🐕🇺🇸
It's like watching a beautiful mini zoo which make me cheer up because the cats' cuteness.
Four homeless cats call our front porch home during feeding time. One of them is an old tomcat (neutered by TNR last year) who pretty much stays put on the porch - so much that we bought him a heated cat house for our snowy cold winters. We never know who else may be passing through. There's a calico, a gray and white long-haired cat, and a yellow tabby with white feet who are around off and on. There's probably more we don't see, not counting the possum, raccoons, and skunk we keep running off. This channel has created paradise - for cats, sure! But I could live there myself😊
Finally! We've missed you. You created an exceptional, unique world in your home, front yard, and backyard. A real cats' universe. It's such a pleasure to see it!

I lost my Babygirl to cancer in May. I will be looking for two older cats that are bonded. My sister said two cats are out there for me to rescue. But we all know they rescue us.

Thank you for taking care of these guys. I also have my indoor cats. I cant let them out because i live on a busy road and there is really bad stuff in the dirt for cats here in the desert. But i love your yard. It is so beautiful and my kind of thing because of your kittys and the beautiful houses you have for them. I also help all strays that come my way. I had a big tom that some one hurt and broke his hip in half and he was dragging his back leg. I took him to the vet for xrays and antibiotics. The vet told me how i could heal him naturally. I kept him in a small bathroom for six weeks so he couldnt jump or move that much. His hip healed back and he does not drag his leg now. I took him back for another xray and it healed perfectly. I had him fixed and he is now an inside cat. Thanks again for being so good to them. It makes me so happy to know there is people like you out there.😊❤😊❤

I don't like the word "feral" because they are domesticated animals. People often forget this. They only lost trust but need our help. Great that you earned his trust back, it's a gift for what you have done to him! ❤
Personally i think it’s very kind and considerate of you to provide shelter and sustenance to the local homeless and no doubt orphan pussy cats in the locality.i wish we had the odd friendly kitty stop by for some grub, i would soon have it trained.

I recently lost my beloved Misty to kidney failure. She was 15. It is very lonely without her.
Goldens are such sweet loving dogs. It's one of ours loved to play nokes. He knew he was not allowed to chase the chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese, but he would run halfway to them at the barn and then veer off to show us he wasn't chasing them. And, then the sweet boy would turn and watch all the feathered farm creatures all in a dither and grin a huge funny grin at the confusion he had caused by not chasing them!

What a wonderful tour of the "Cat's Mega Crib"! You can tell how safe and comfortable all the residents and visitors are from the "belly out" poses. Lots of lovely napping spots and snooze centres. Such a blessed and happy place!
You can tell every one of those cats trust and love you! It's sweet. I have that effect on cats too. I think it a gift I've had since a very young age. I think they can sence compassion and kindness or their just good at reading some people. 🥰

Very healthy cats!...when I die I want to come back as your cat...
I learned long ago that cats, mine at least, love the big, thick, cushy dog beds you'd get for an aging Labrador Retriever. They can share or not at will. I started buying ones that have "woof" printed on them for a laugh. My cats, sleeping on the big "woof" beds. Now I've a variety of sizes so they can choose to curl or stretch at will...and they still take up most of my bed. 😂
