  • My anthurium clarinervium was pollinated over 10 months ago and I finally have a few berries that are ready to be harvested. I pollinated my clarinervium with my anthurium pedatoradiatum in December of 2022. I also do a quick repot of my anthurium to put it into a better substrate.

    • @plantsbymelissa
      @plantsbymelissa  10 месяцев назад +1

      I cut it off the other day since it starting yellowing more. I think it's because it took so long to grow I didn't want to cut it off until I knew for sure it was going in a sense lol

    The clarinervium looks healthy, produced berries, why were you sure it had rotting roots?

    • @plantsbymelissa
      @plantsbymelissa  10 месяцев назад +1

      Because every plant in sol sols rotted on me. I just knew because it's been in the same pot for over a year and couldn't visibly see any new healthy root growth. I think the only reason it survived was because it was on the top shelf of my Ikea cabinet under super close light and extremely warm temps. I stressed out every time I went to water it.

    Are there any anthuriums that won’t take a cross? Or can you cross any two anthuriums together? What about 3?

    • @plantsbymelissa
      @plantsbymelissa  10 месяцев назад +1

      You can’t cross just any two together and I am honestly not that knowledgeable on it. Before you cross them you’ll want to see if they can cross and I would just do a google search to see if anyone else has done it. I’m sure there’s some journals out there that give more specifics but when I did this I just went for it and didn’t research any so I definitely got lucky!

    Curious. What's that mix made of? And why do you not recommend it?

    • @plantsbymelissa
      @plantsbymelissa  10 месяцев назад

      It was sol soils 😒 Travis and I talked about the issues I was having with it and he said it stays moist for 10-14 days so no need to water more frequently than that. Not only was it staying moist longer than that but it was creating a sludge from the calcined clay which was limiting the oxygen available to the roots which led to rot in all the plants I had in it. It was also full of fungus gnat larvae. He then unfollowed me and told customers I didn't know how to water my plants 😂

    It’s crazy how sometimes you can get 300+ seeds, and sometimes just 3 😆. I cut off my pollinated Clari inflo once after about three months, not knowing that it takes so long, was so sad. Keep us posted on these 3 seeds ok, I’m very interested to see what they’ll end up looking like 🫶.
