I love how Poseidon says "no" to ody proposing the idea of him learning to forgive, because if Poseidon was angry over his son's pain and blinding, he could learn to heal from that sadness and pain, but ody never hurt Poseidon, he hurt his ego and ideology, and Poseidon can't forgive him.

And while it's small it left a big enough impact that now everybody knows Odysseus for it

Poseidon says "ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves" but in this song, his actions are anything but merciful to himself. His pride is getting in the way of his own happiness
I don’t think Poseidon cares because in his mind as soon as he kills him he can go home and Polyphemus can stop complaining so he is showing his own pride mercy, if that makes sense… like he’s still wrong but much like sukana from jujitsu kaisen he doesn’t care he has his priorities and will die by them
How? Poseidon 'wasting' 8 years to track down ody? Poseidon is thousands, if not millions of years old. 8 years is like a single day compared to his life. The thousands of years he will live AFTER this! I don't see how this will affect poseidon at all.
