- I wanted to wait for the Boreas "adjustment" to be confirmed for Global Server in Watcher of Realms before making this video...but now that it has, here ya go. I did my darnedest to build nearly identical Boreas copies of my Global Account (pre-nerf) and my Test Server Account (post-nerf). I then do some extensive PvE testing Gear Raid 1 and some PvP range testing in Arena. All-in-all, this is good news as this was far less of a nerf than people had worried about. Big thanks to Mitchell my editor - this one was hardwork. Thanks guys and enjoy :D

It’s definitely a solid nerf I don’t think that you can really argue with that seeing the numbers here. I just wish that people would have held back on the hate a bit until seeing how he actually performed. I think as content creators we have a bit of a responsibility to try and do our best not to stoke the flames of anger in the community. The last thing we want is to find ourselves in a burnt out community quick to anger.
Totally respect your opinion but I fundamentally disagree. In both my videos I actually went out of my way to say the rework was necessary, read well, and that absolutely we should wait and see before setting the world aflame.
I do not regret for a second however expressing my outrage over their messaging and communication. It was tone deaf and really blind to the obvious backlash there would be from people who felt cheated and robbed. Even now still, I strongly believe they need to come forward and take ownership of this kind of thing to make sure it doesn’t happen again (or ensure it happens as infrequently as possible) before even more of the community sours and ditches the game.

Even though you definitely said the right things, I just know that I saw your video used as an excuse for a lot of unjust anger and hate. A thing that you have very little control over of course. But tbh wtf do I know you’ve been in this community a lot longer then me and my wife, our asses only have 57 subscribers lol. I just really enjoy this community and want what’s the best for it, a feeling I know you also share.
The floodgates are now open. There is no legitimate reason for them to totally change how poison works. It's a straight jab at f2p players.
@LustArrogance They could be better at due diligence and not release broken characters. Then, the nerf discussion doesn't exist. They have 2 servers with advanced access to all characters. There is no way this should have happened. Also why wait to address the obvious brokeness.

The issue is from people playing competitive Gatcha and crying about nerfing/balancing hereos when it is done in almost every competitive Gatcha game every 2 - 3 months 😅

Yeah I agree. PvE elements are a wash. An arena deployment cost increase would’ve done the trick and save all of this
NOT BAD!!!! Try post and pre on GR2. Moonton is NERFING HIS PVE …… THIS IS COMPLETE BS. Plarium for all their faults HAS NOT NERFED TARAS…..TARAS IS OP IN ARENA….TUFF LUCK. I am testing him on GR2 post nerf today. We shall see.
A better comparison would be me. Just passing gr1 19 literally hours before nerf. Seeing what my rans looked like with dominance. Fast and efficient. I had marri and Ai on right side with boreas where you had him. Could clear that stage in about 30 or 40 seconds. 2/3 or better wall left.
Post nerf same run dominance on:
Same run takes well over a minute probably min and a half. His shortened range means he can't proc on Ai further ice bombs. Also means the enemies on edge get a head start. Then when they are hit by boreas they are hit weaker. I'm getting a lot of stragglers.. that don't get killed off during his ult. That don't get proc during his ice haven. Takes at least twice as long to kill off final boss. Wall gets down to 1/2 or just under sometimes. And the new in danger of failing message. Still clears but no where near as fast or efficient.

Ps I have an entire suggestion box rant back and forth w them about this and all of MY findings. I opened their eyes 👀 to some things. Ending with them saying they are going to send this to development for testing and considering. That's doubtful surely but I indeed have the thread w timestamps in my suggestion box as I type this comment. If there's a way to send that to you and you would to read it...let me know and it is yours to take a gander.
Carry with what you do as you are the greatest. But the utility isn't there as it was before. Damage dif is neglible as you showed. But wait there's more. ❤
My only grudge is the reduced range because the new range doesn't change anything for arena. But it affects placement for some PVE content.

I was so happy when I've got him and he's one of my favourite unit. I don't want anymore to buy packs and trying to summoning some good units that will be nerfed in couple month (rates for top tier summons seems like 0, or less...). GL everyone.

@@corvStifun Well, Cerberus is really good many places. AoE fighter is rare and strong, also good in Codex. Hatsut is OP in Arena, and solos right sight of GR3. She crushes Guild War, Void Rift, Codex, Gear Raid 1,2 and 3. Tell me she isnt as OP as Boreas.
Boreas is great, maybe too high damage compared to other mages. So why not JUST nerf his damage? The damage was the problem. The range and freeze isnt a problem in Arena, if you dont have the damage to kill mobs in 1 hit. Without his ult he is trash in Arena. Passive takes far to long and makes me lose many battles to Hatsut that instakill waives with the click of a button. You cannot control boreas AoE. She is OP many places. And dont start talking about some Lords...
And what about Dolores? She is used in every team everywhere! And she is a epic! WAY more valuable than Boreas. You would not br able to do 50% of the content without here. I support nerfing his damage, but not more than that. Range from 4.5 to 3.5 will ruin so much. Now he is just good, while people spent thousands for the great hero he was, and has now been scammed. Wtf are you suppose to do with 6 copies of Boreas? Lol

Is pantheon bonuses comparable between both accounts. The extra stats may make the damage gap a little wider if the test server account doesn't have any bonuses.

My main issue is that I skipped the Gwyndolin limited event, despite spending more than enough to have been able to get her, to instead chase Boreas. He was that good. Is he now? Considering pre-nerf the top AOE arena teams are already dropping Boreas and using Gwyndolin, I'd say no. Now I just never get to use Gwyndolin because I got another Khamet. Bad trade.

Nerfed only because of stupid boring arena. Why screw up my pve content because of tryhards in Arena? Not spending another dime with stupid developers like this. Just make him unusable in Arena or only nerf him for arena.
One of the main problem with boreas in aoe arena, have more to do with arena than boreas, that he is just good at exploiting. This is mainly for gold 2 maybe 3 and down. The strength of the monsters is tied to the defending player BP. Meaning you build your boreas as strong as possible and build the rest with the goal of hitting an overall bp where boreas can still one shot the enemies. It makes it extremly diffcult to beat a boreas team If he the timings right.

I would have liked to see if he was still viable in gr2, but great video outside of that. Still don't love the full rebuild for him while so many legendary heroes need that full kit rework

he is still good in pvp. he is bad in pve now because of the range nerf. The range nerf doesn't affect pvp mich since the area of the arena is small

why do these tests on stage 20?
perfect in between stage for late game but not end game players. Wanted to make this as accessible as possible so I thought that this was the best bet.
He's still a great champ. There should be more desirable champs than others but not where 1 champ can completely dominate a whole team of s tiers or a lvl 21 raid.
Its nice to see my F2P ass get looped by nerfs ill w8t to see when the nurf comes, but yea i got the luck to have Boreas and a3 khamet but... I mean its like go nurf zilitu gild boss dmg she is not matched in dmg F2P, or nurf Wrath a5 cuz when i made him a5 the game just got totaly easy early till now, i want olaf nerf too he is way too op for epic, i think hollow needs a nerf too... Def don’t spend. But I would wait u til any for of a pattern emerges. It is one hero. No major precedent is established. On the precedent of the possibility (which is known already in the genre of game)
@@fastidious_gg yea my gear raid 3 doesn't work now. I had boreas covering the right side. He won't reach now. Also my faction trial doesn't work. With power of dominance I'm sure I'll get around it soon just annoying.
My main issue is the precedent within the genre gacha games is if they release a broken champ they typically do it on purpose so people want it and typically games really lag on balances of weaker champs. This is a champ that if anybody had it especially early it found its way as a staple in almost every piece of content... Now to be nerfed essentially. This has a profound effect and Is not typical for this genre. If anything it is rarely every done to nerf a champion because that's what drives fomo.. if they thought doing this would get me or others to be more interested in there paywalled OP champs like ardea and praetus they did the exact opposite. Instead I lost all trust for there digital media decisions and I'm a spender so my money is going to go somewhre

other point missed here is gear. lower progress players with this hero saw real benefit. now without great gear there is no reason to not use khamet instead. i have a5 khamet and a1 boreas did better pre nerf. now its reversed.

My opinion was that he should’ve just been removed from arena. I don’t believe there would be many upset that a cheesy arena strat was no longer usable.

All and all when you give a hero special event for reseting him and only him, aside from the book, you know that you F up ... But yea time will tell ppl will find a way to make him even more broke, maybe some more rage regen and a legendery lord there will be ults nonstop and they will cry again, and they will nerf again... Ones started there is no stoping
Sadly that only shows that a A3 Boreas with Endgame Gear is doing alright.
I would have loves a A0 Boreas with some Golden or even Purple gear. Maybe with some Mythic gear that does have bad sub stat rolls.
You know, new or midgame player gear.
THAT is where they realy nerfed him.
A3 is where he gets the huge +50% to his AOE, his Frozen Purification.
If you dont have that, I am pretty sure that things look different.
His A3 is crazy good, no doubt about that.
I didnt want this specific nerf for the new players or players that just got into the midgame.
I have enough other options. I also have GR 1-3 beat on 21 and can farm the best gear.
But I also know there are a Ton of people not in the Endgame. And THEY got hit. THEY are the ones who might quit after finding their favourite toy broken.
They are hitting the new fresh life blood coming to the game.
Lets hope that this is not the first of many bad nerfs (looking at the potential poisen nerf)

@@dakodaarmstrong98If I would start a new Account, maybe. But I know what I am doing. Go to Twitch or RUclips live and watch new players. Even people who are gamer at hearts progress in a snails pace compared to someone who knows what to do and what to look for that it is insane.
I also have a Guild for New players. Most of them are - after months and months- finaly at the point of fighting the Nightmare bosses.
Most players are worse at the game than you would expect. I helped a few guys with Account takeovers and pushed their Accounts because the messaged me that the game is too hard, they feel stupid and are stuck. They wantet to quit. I startet to help them.
If that is the experience that new players are having, that is bad.
I am at RUclips Live and Twitch and I do help new players. You cant even start to understand how bad some starts are, because they spend all Stamina to try to min max Purple or Golden Gear, while heroes are still level 40 and 50, not fullly promoted.
You and I know that if you play campaign as far as you get to unlock everything, level charakters and promote them, you will get to GR 18 in no time.
How would a new player that knows nothing know this?
Keep at it with your Elitest view, but I am here trying to advocate for the average new Player. And they need all the help that they can get!
I have to ask... Why, on a game with a forerunner server that was essentially a years worth of free beta testing, and is now free testing for a few months ahead, and an independent test server, in an era where games regularly sell access to their Betas would you honestly expect a company to do its own testing when it can release now and patch later? That's the industry standard for more or less all games at this point mobile or five star big company and has been for half a decade. You really only see inhouse testing for anything other than bugs in small to mid indie studios. I'm not saying wanting them to do it is wrong, and that they shouldn't but it's an unrealistic expectation to think for a minute that any video game has a goal that is anything other than release release release as fast as possible.
He needs to be taken out of the super rare bucket with Hatsuut. He was put there in the first place because he was so good. Post nerf he’s about on par with Khamet, so make his rate on par as well.
I’m still not spending 😂. Even if this nerf was appropriate I’m not comfortable spending money on a game made by a company who has now set a precedent for how they treat nerfs (Boreas and Poison)

How about a GR2 comparison pre and post. People potentially spent thousands of dollars on an apex hero that was advertised as such. Now they are compensated with a few diamonds! Complete joke. PVE content capability should NEVER BE NERFED! Total bait and switch….they are dorking over player / spenders because they don’t like the hero and want a do-over. This wrecks his GR2 Utility. Many spenders are completely going to lose the trust for this developer and that happens the game will fail.

Well, your freeze extra damage wasnt booked, so you lost 15% there, then I dont even remember what other damage multipliers you missed.
Favouring nerfed Boreas.
You also have some less attack and crit damage, and vs enemies with high MR defence, that really matter.

Mari with 1.1 attack interval. Do we know that the threshold isnt what counts?

It really makes no sence that nerfed Boreas only does 5-6% less damage, when the damage effectivness of the skills are at 80%.
It should in reality be 20% difference. Old Boreas does 25% more damage. 5-6% Is just wrong.
Every source that could benefit nerfed Boreas does so. Making the difference from nerfed to not nerfed bigger.
A propper visual test would rather be done on very low stages, where the defence is low. Both wearing no set, and only having pieces with 60% attack and capped Crit rate. No crit damage.
That fixes the gear issue. if you are gonna reset him anyways, why would you not use the 6 books? That would have made the 40% freeze damage go to 55%, making him paired with Mari even stronger on pre-nerf.
Favouring nerfed Boreas.
Also, just make a quick notepad note with the damage diferences from max skilled every skill, instead of jumping back and fourth 20 times. Makes it really confusing.
You are a math guy, so when a skill does 80% of the old damage, that isnt a 5% damage difference, thats 20%. That just shows you all thiese multipliers you tried to match, comined to about 15% damage wrong, favouring nerfed Boreas.
Also, in actual teams, you would have Rage generators. Both Laurel and Hollow increase that rage by %. Not flat amount, making the 200 cost buff in reality only becoming 100, roughly with Laurel 50%. Diminishing the ONLY buff he got outside of heal reduction 4 sec.
Also, the fact that heal reduction applied more with New Boreas is true, and can be luck.
Also, you know that once you kill mobs, the overkill damage counts. So lets say nerfed Boreas barely didnt kill someone, the overkill would be more. So hard to compare.
Just a few things you should consider.
I love Boreas, so ofc I am bad that he is nerfed. Range nerf is the biggest problem imo. Damage dont matter that much. And why tf would they nerf his freeze duration. They are making him more of a freeze chap, but nerfs his freeze XD
One last thing, you should have showed the range difference 3.5 to 4.5 makes. It will nuin a lot of teams, even with power of dominance. Also much less viable in Arena.

@@fastidious_gg I know, but the numers dont match at all. 5% difference isnt 20%. Compare the skill multipliers and there you have it. For numbers people like me, I dont really need the compareson run. Look at the skill difference. And why didnt you put in the 6 skill crystals? Every single source that could benefit nerfed Boreas did. Every single ult proc should in reality do 175%+40% vs 225%+55%. 215% damage vs 280% damage. That makes Old Boreas do 30% MORE DAMAGE on Ultimate procs that freeze. That is a lot!!!!!!!!!! It feels like you are trying to trick us to believing that nerfed Boreas only does 5% less damage. Also, this test didnt really show the range difference or freeze duration.
the numbers match as well as they possibly could. I provided you all with the information, and you can draw conclusions your own conclusions from it just as you have done here. I never said 5% damage period. I am not trying to trick. I show all gear. All skill ups. All pantheon. Then I state what the difference was in this comparison. If you don't need the comparison then do not view it haha. Many people wanted to see it in action, including Moonton and other CCs not on test server who asked me.
@@fastidious_gg You showed everything, but it all favoured nerfed Boreas slightly, combining up to a 15% rougly damage difference. With your damage test that showed. You know that multiple small increases multiply and becomes visible.
Old Boreas did 307k +70k damage with max crit. While Nerfed Boreas did 277k + 27k.
That means Initial hit only did 11% damage difference, wich makes no sence when the skill damage difference is 450% vs 355% total, witch is 26.7% damage right?
Then there is the hidden nerf in damage that comes from freeze duration that decreases, that will reduce the massive damage that scales with the freeze duration.
Then there is the Chilling blow passive that you didnt book, 40 vs 55%.
Then there is the hugh difference, that when you actually watch the fight, Boreas kills the first waive, leaving nothing to damage, meaning nerfed Boreas takes longer, but will catch up in damage because he still hits the remaining enemies. They have a finite set of HP. Obviously the damage will become very similar! The test is just horrible. Is there a boss that can be frozen? Damaging enemies that cant die will prove the difference. In content that is actually hard.
I bet the real DPS difference is closer to 30%. 27% difference in main hit, 37% difference in the massive damage. And probably half Massive damage, due to half freeze duration. Wich is 100% difference.
The real damage difference is insane.
+ reduced range. Wich is insane.
A true test can only be done vs 10 unkillable targets. Then your stat differences would matter less, but still probably 10% combined.
I quite obviously did my best. It was an imperfect test. As you state, there is no perfect test. If you have a better recommendation, I would say go do it! You can film it right now pre nerf. And then film again post nerf in one week.
I'm going to reset him and wait for the following event to re-build him for points, lol

range does not affect arenaaa since the area is small. the pve part is the most affected with the range nerf.

Great so all those dramas everywhere for 5% damage less ... Things will be the exact same as before in pve and arena. Pointless nerf.
With full skills ups and everything I would estimate about a 10-12 percent damage change but all in all I totally agree. Better communication from the devs and an arena focused nerf would’ve done the trick and save us from all this craziness

I did not say 5% difference in the hero. I said 5% difference in the test. Which was clearly disclosed to be an imperfect comparison. I did my best. I got it as close as it could.

The hate about the representation of boreas nerf was at least in my opinion super harsh. Your reaction sounded like it could have triggered a nuclear war between russia and the USA. It was probably worth the views and outrage but at the end boreas deserved the nerf. You had some points like the amount of resources that has been used on him but at the end it is a game where nerfs and buffs Happen. There where some good adjustments for example: shamirs buff but Nobody really talked about him. So stop defending the people that spend a lot of money because at the end it was the choice of the spenders. And please take into consideration, that boreas was absolutely broken and still is post nerf. So people actually knew there will be a nerf eventually. And even I as a low spender maxed him out without spending a single Euro into boreas and did not regret it.

i think u really missed what I was saying. I was reacting at HOW they did the nerf. Not how strong or weak the nerf was (I actually was in favor of some kind of nerf). And I think I have been proven very correct. Unfortunately the mishandling and continued mishandling over how the changes were communicated by Moonton caused many players to leave the game.

The nerf was necessary. I’m glad that there’s actually teams now in Plat 2 and 3 that is not just Boreas (most of the teams still use him). I was tired of getting beaten by Boreas teams 100k BP less than mine because people would just put all their best gear on Boreas and all the support champions were pretty much naked
Ofc! Support dont have high BP. The same would be the case with Hatsut! Is see here even more than Boreas!
She oneshots any waive in AoE Dps. Nukes single targets. Paired with Cerberus they beat my Boreas 100% of the time.
BP is just a trick in Arena. Low BP means they use supports or not geared champs. Gear wins every time.
@@eliteguy9970I made this point before as well that between the cost and getting his first ult off, hatsutt teams beat me in aoe arena a lot because she’s down and the wave is cleared before I even get boreas down,

@@dakodaarmstrong98 Well if you dont know, Boreas cost 19. He ults right way. Even with ult straight away you need to wait on 2nd proc, then you oneshot the waive. At that point you lost half HP, nect waive you oneshot, but so do Hatsut with Laurel. Then after that its RNG.

In regards to his nerf it was necessary regardless of what people say. He is way to powerful, he solo cleared every type of arena. Almost all gear raids and void rift. As far as the apology and compensation. It is very lack luster, they should’ve compensated at least 10-20 pulls worth of gems as well as a direct apology. Not corporate lingo basically tip toeing around their mess up

STOP ACCEPTING NERFS. It opens the door for more nerfs, look at what they’re doing to poison for no reason… You say they’re listening to you, so stop speaking for yourself and speak for the players. The only thing that needed to be adjust was his range, not his damage. It doesn’t matter if it was a big nerf or a small nerf, it’s still a nerf.

@@fastidious_gg by saying it’s not that bad of a and we’re being compensated accordingly. I’m not saying that you need to be fuming or be ready to quit, but be more understanding to the ppl that don’t have a strong account and Boreas was their only aoe mage. Put more emphasis on what is wrong and not what they do to right that right. Talk about buffing epics and increasing their base stats to be more useable, buffing more of the legendaries to decrease the need for the meta characters. Buffs will change the game more than nerfs and content made for a niche character. There shouldn’t be any farming content (gear raids) that you need to have a team of meta legendaries or a lord to complete it. GR2 is fun bc there are several ways to complete it but that can’t be said for GR1 and 3. Went a bit off lol, I apologize.
@@ttimetip19 I love the passion but yea we just disagree. I truly don't think it is that bad. And I cannot think of any other form of reasonable compensation. I wish they could refund people their money but obviously that aint happening. So what else can I do besides test it out and share my thoughts?
@@fastidious_gg no I agree the adjustments didn’t appear to bad, I just think there are more improvements that could have been made than the focus on Boreas. I can’t think of any other compensation, maybe a guaranteed legendary swap. I don’t think you did anything wrong, I just think you shouldn’t voice that nerfs are okay as long as there’s compensation and the nerf is minor, bc it opens the door to more nerfs. However, that’s just my opinion. I appreciate you taking the time to go back and forth with me.

Is illegal to nerf a a character that they sold in the US...I spent years in China and is nonsense....read the TOS, as is says nothing about a bait and switch. Just due to how often China sued me, and lost every time...I feel like this is an easy case to win and this is a GOTCH PTW game.
