This is an absolutely wonderful video (showing just a tiny bit of how much hard work goes into their seemingly effortless dances). And thank you for the translation into English and subtitles (I do understand French, but it's very rusty): which tell what they are trying to create as artists (way beyond just winning competitions or medals, although they are as competitive as any duo out there). In a long interview written in "Inside Skating", they spoke at great length about what they are trying to do as 'artists' (actually in interviews going back to 2016): following their own path, choosing unique music (with multiple layers of emotions), even if it's "difficult" for people to 'get' right away (Guillaume's words). I think they moved up an entire level (in both technique and 'story-telling' and range of emotions) in both of their superb dances during the 2018-19 season. The Tango was the best I've ever seen in ice-dance (and I've been watching for a long time) (equal to & different from the Tango that Torvill & Dean skated during their professional career that starts off with no music/just the sound of their blades on ice) and their 2019 Free Dance was just glorious (perfectly choreographed to the lyrics of songs by Rachael Yamagata and showing a much wider range of emotions, from love/passion to angst/anger/separation, returning to each other at the end). In the long interview they said that, even when speaking in French, they often have a hard time trying to describe in detail what they are feeling when they dance; they can give a brief overview but the layers of feeling are deeply buried and they often hope that audience members can 'feel' the emotions along with them. In 2017, Guillaume said, "Our aim is to move forward boldly and create works of art....."

For those who don't speak French, I tried to translate it in English (which is not my mother language so I hope it's okay) :
    - GP : We have reach a point where we try to leave a mark on sport. It’s often linked to medals, success, etc. but there are all these athletes, these artists whom we remember have inspired people, have created something and that is the highest point.
    - GC : First day of training of 2019, first warming up of 2019
    - Romain Haguenaeur : I think the principal motivation is at least to get the Olympic title that they missed in Korea. We are lucky enough to take part in an artistic sport and Gabriella & Guillaume, beyond being sportsmen who want medals, are artists who love to dance, to skate, to create.
    - GC : At this point in the season where there’s two big competitions left, we always go through this stage of exploration a little bit. To improve it, we have to deconstruct it, go into the details, and then rebuild it, train, so that it becomes automatic.
    - Choreographer (or one of them I think, sorry for him) : My friends, I’m sure what will help us is the centrifugal force when you turn fast. I promise you that for the knee, I feel that with the centrifugal force it will be much better, because what's difficult is when her weight is above you.
    - GC : I think there are a lot of dancers on the floor who dreamed of being on the ice, because when we are static on the ground, we are just static, when we are static on the ice we slide, there is this kind of fourth dimension that interferes.
    - GP : It looks a little airy, it seems to float, That's what touches me when I look at it, the freedom of movement, the speed. It creates something really unique and specific to figure skating.
    - Romain Haguenaeur : It’s an individual sport, but it’s practiced by two people
    - Ginette Cournoyer : They really have to love each other, that is part of the great chemistry we’re looking for.
    - GC : With Gabriella, we started skating together at the age of eight, nine.
    - GP : The stars lined up and brought us together. We realize how lucky we are and we try to enjoy it.
    - Ginette Cournoyer : You have to jump to the right. I think you have to make the same angle as him, it’s difficult. The same angle, again the spine in the same angle. The more same angles you have, the more spectacular it is. It’s so many years of work, patience, energy. You really have to be passionate
    - Romain Haguenaeur : They have given a touch of youth, an artistic blow to figure skating and people are captivated to see them skate because it goes beyond sport.
    - GP : It is our mark, it is to put ourselves in something bigger, while trying to do something we like and not doing what is expected of us but still continue to persevere in this search for beauty.
    - Romain Haguenaeur : oh my god, what energy.
    Lots of love

I love them, although I have seen that they are judged for not having risks in the routines and doing the same movements and not making progress, I have noticed that the basis of their skating is the same, but the truth is I like them a lot and not I get tired of watching their routines.

Whoever talks about somebody else descrirbes not the person who is talking about but the person who talks. You must be full of complexes and be completly unhappy with your life for being so rude.
