I like to fuck with them...I'm a smooth bore tanker usually running 79K lbs gross. I'll pull up hard to the stop sign and then slam on the brakes and get that surge rolling. My steer axle weight will go from 9K to 15K as I pull on the scale. If I have to deal with it surging driving down the road then they do too.

I've gone through that scale a few times, but normally it's closed when I go by, and I never go back the opposite way, I'll take 95 back to Jersey and avoid scales
Yeah, I’ve been to that waystation a few times in my career. Had quite a few inspections always passed.. They certainly like to play games at that station.. I got a $50 ticket for my briefcase being on the floor and they marked it as loose articles in the cab back in the 80s.

Connecticut has been that way since at minimum 1990.
I got a 100 inspection at the California station south of Vegas and was green lit through every weigh station for three months. Amazing!

the problem is not how new the truck or trailer is it's about proper weight distribution overloading frame integrity the lights working the brakes being adjusted no fluid leaks tire wear fifth wheel play and lube loose bolts and linkage steering basically things that get overlooked during pre- trip inspections it is for all of our safety.
I stopped at that weight station, one time ended up going around that one every single time that stations sucks

I'm dedicated to north east feom PA to Maine, good rule to follow when possible..from NJ to Springfield MA park by 2 pm, unless you have the hrs to run til 9ish pm are your possibly fkd.😂 30 miles past Springfield Ma. Your good to run when ever with available parking where there is parking😅..
I drove by that east bound weigh station every night for three years and it was never open but in the rare instances I was returning late and noticed it from the westbound side. As far as I could tell it was open ~7am - 3pm m-f only and always.

Fuckin danbury. Trucker hell for 3:09 to wait a lifetime. Anything north of hartford i run i87 up to i90 then drop down. Its longer but usually faster than waiting and then ending up getting inspected.
Everything will pass, just nkt worth the time wasted.

First weigh station in ct on 85 east and it sucks. Ct. Bridge law is 43 feet I believe

Yea we tried getting cameras they didn't work and I wasn't going fast believe it or not when the tire blew it slammed down on the curb and bent the rim I was 44000 lbs but u live and u learn you know. Next time I'll get out and walk the parking lot first.

@@HCWTT That's a rare occasion for that scale to be closed. I'm glad I'm on the northwest side of the US as I got tired of the DOT back east.
That is about a messed up Station , Have to stay on the shoulder get to the stop sign and wait to turn in , then the turn to get on the scale is kind tight on that left turn , do what most do pull up to the stop sign and just go straight out and leave , Seen many do it
I thought about it haha it took over half an hour to get through that damn place
