- It's not often I get the opportunity to build a feature this unique. When George from CoralFish12g asked me to build an indoor pond that holds 2,300 gallons of water in his own basement, how could I say no!

This concept of an indoor koi pond with Windows is what originally brought me to the pond professor and aquascape about 3 months ago
Bringing the joy of having a koi pond inside for year round enjoyment is now my dream project
Being deprived of enjoying my outdoor ponds for 6 month's of the year is sad
Converting my inside lap pool , raising the sides and adding Windows , now there is a great idea
Turning our sunroom into a subtropical paradise with koi would be a dream come true
Ed if you ever want to come to Quebec and help you would be most welcome
I'm so excited for George!!!!! Ed you're amazing!! I love how you work so well with all of our young generation of RUclips fish lovers! They all deserve the gorgeous ponds yall build them. I can't wait to see you bring this pond to life! 🥰❤
nice walk through. we'll see if it gets done on time and I hope the reveal goes well LOL. Cant wait to see it
It was a tough one!
wow nice project...indoor
Thanks!!!
It’s more of a challenge working indoors!
@@EdThePondProfessor waiting for the part 2....👍👍
Watching & learning 😍
Indoor pond looks beautiful. Great technology. Great uploading and sharing. Fully watched fully support you
Thanks for your support!!!
This is so amazing. Lots of people can use this to build their own indoor pond. Awesome!
Very cool!
I am looking forward to seeing how this turns out. I have been thinking how cool it would be to have a large koi window in the exterior basement wall that looks into the pond outside the house. Cool project for sure. God bless
WOW bet it's going to be cool. 😎
awesome, been waiting for these vids. Great work as always Ed.
Thanks Tanner!!!
I should have known it was GEORGE!!! He's come a long way from where he started, but his Parent's Basement!! Lordy Ed, and you're encouraging him.. SMDH & LMFAO!! 😂. Well, if anyone can solve this problem or issue its You! Make us proud Ed... You Rock.... Literally. 😏✌️🏆
Hope his Parent's don't take a contract out on you... Enabler.. 😉🤣
His parents maybe telling him it's time to move to his Own Place with this stunt. 🤭🤨
THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME
Thanks Brad!!!
I can't wait to see it finished! It's going to be amazing
Class is in session! Thanks Ed for the excellent introduction to this unique project!
paint the celling like the sky!
Great idea!!!
@@EdThePondProfessor omg! i can die now! respect!
This is going to be so cool!
Amazing, can't wait to see the next videos. And btw, you guys inspired me to build my own pond, thank you so much. Ciao, from Italy!
Love projects like these. George is a man with vision, and not the scary type. Bravo :)
Thanks Peter!
Excited to watch this one! I have seen plywood tank construction and I'm interested to see how your version works different compared to that!
My thought is that if you have a four sided box and you were able to strap the perimeter at the top would eliminate that outward pressure.
Yes,
That’s what we accomplished with the Steel Angle Iron that was attached above the glass panels connecting the two walls together
Man! I really appreciate all the detail you share with us! Thank you! Love your videos!
LOVE THIS!!!
This is such an amazing idea!
Thanks!!!
Omg I can’t wait to see what y’all are gonna make of this
Wow. that is going to be stunning!
Amazing Ed!
Thank you!
Awesome I am sooo excited about this correlation 🙌
Move the 2X4 back 3/4 inch on the inside wall and completely do away with that 3/4 inch piece of wood below the plywood. Next put down two 2X12s on the bottom and top having one board over lap the other in the corners.
Hi Ed i know youre great with freshwater aqua systems but will you be able to do a saltwater pond all natural if requested ??
Wow I can't wait to see this !!!! Also how did he ever convince his parents to let him do this...lol my dad would probably let me do it!!!
Huh?
He didn’t tell them 😳
He might not have told them. I believe he did the outside pond without telling them.
Been Waiting to see this!
Ed this is going to be awesome
Thanks Jason!!!
@@EdThePondProfessor Your welcome Ed!!
No way!!!
Hello, pond professor, I have a challenge for you. Can you take sea water and using your bog land filter system, filter the sea water to fresh water?
Hi Lucy!
Great question,
The Bog Filter will remove suspended solids, nitrates, phosphates and other dissolved nutrients but it cannot effectively remove salts......
I bet it will look good.. But tape where are the spray-paint
Awesome job 👍
Are you doing anything to compensate for moisture?
Yes,
We installed a large dehumidifier
Hey PP! Can I be next? I want something like that in my basement as well.
George : So they already made me a freshwater indoor pond, how about another one for saltwater.
His parents: ಠ_ಠ ಠ_ಠ
Yes!!!
I need this for our Asain Water Monitors, do you have anyone near Hannibal Mo that can give me an estimate? Love your work with Jay Prehistoric and Kenan!
Thanks!!!
Nature’s Recreations near St. Louis is Great!!!
Taking notes on this.
Can I be adopted by these people? 🤣
this is an awesome project. Can I be next ? :)
If i ever have an indoor pond made like that, i would make it a circle for better flow.. must be too hard to make proboly thats why they dont do it. I just wish this indoor pond is gonna have plants and isnt gonne be just an indoor bathtub
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
That design will work...
I hope so!
Wouldn't it have been better to build the walls from concrete?
It would be stronger for sure. But it would also be considered a permanent structure at that point, so if anything happened that required a homeowners insurance claim unless you told them about it being there before hand which would raise your insurance you'd be screwed. Doing it this way it's really just a big fish tank and not a permanent structure.
An indoor water pond in a basement 😀😯
Yes!!!
One side glass, one side bar counter and stools 👀
I love it!!!
I like your office paint color Ed, but you need some artwork, maybe a couple 36x24 Ansel Adams prints 👍👍 Sounds like it will be similar in size to Joey at King of DIY indoor pond.
Thanks and I agree!
Working on it.....
I spend all my time on customers projects and neglect mine!
Curious how your going to handle the humidity in you basement. It’s going to fell like a rainforest down there. Can’t wait to see the paint peeling back in a few months lol
Simple dehumidifier in the summer. In the winter it’s a net positive
amazon tank with winter koi lol
Please Make the pond right from the window to the wall
😯
💯🔥💙👍
He is going to need somto help with humidity increase down there once the pond is in too
a below grade basement pond? George is nuts but Ed will pull it off
George is definitely nuts.......
I don't understand why u choose to do liners on a wood structured tank. It's like you're kinda stuck on the liner concept from outdoor use. There are a lot of better ways imo.
Also you can't do an indoor waterfall the tank needs to covered. You will need an extremely elaborate ventilation system to handle the humidity. Its a carpeted basement. The tank should be covered.
I know the liner works and I don’t want to experiment on someone else’s home.
The waterfall is nonexistent, the Biofalls unit flows directly into the tank with no elevation change.
We also added a large dehumidifier to handle moisture
First
Very cool!
Thank you!!!
