    I'd like to see a head to head comparison of the 22 Grendel vs. 224 Valkyrie in a bolt gun -- same length barrel, same twist. I'm about to start on a 6 ARC in a Howa mini action, and next on the list is a Valkyrie. If there is sufficient advantage to the Grendel, I can be swayed, but since I already have brass and dies for the Valkyrie, the difference would have to be significant, due to the need to source much more expensive custom dies.

    • @EagleEyeShooting
      @EagleEyeShooting  2 года назад

      The 22 Grendel aka .224 AR already hits velocities that a 224 Valkyrie can't in an AR15. Such as pushing a 90gr ATip at 3100 FPS in an 18inch barrel. Their wouldn't be any expensive "Custom dies". You only need a 6.5 Grendel Type S or similar bushing die and 3 bushings to neck down brass from 6.5 Grendel or simply neck up 6 ARC and fireform like I did. If I get to making a barrel for this, I can compare. In the meantime, I can confirm already performance will be much better already over a 224 Valkyrie without the downfalls of that cartridge

    • @tjh44961
      @tjh44961 2 года назад

      @@EagleEyeShooting I only started using a bushing die last year for .308, and am still not used to thinking terms of them. But that's a very good point. So it's just a matter of finding a reamer.

    Why is it better than 6 arc? 105-108gr 6mm bullets have the same bc as this 88gr, and the same muzzle velocity as well! Seems just like a waste of barrel life. Although those 55gr are dirt cheap and shoot like a laser

    • @EagleEyeShooting

      Got another video coming up. 88 elds pushing 2960 fps. And yes that's 0.5mil less hold than 6 arc at 700 with a cleaner powder 8208 xbr. Btw speed doesn't wear barrels. It's heat
