Here is the build series about my truck. A rather modified Series II Land Rover.

I rather silly build and road trip to the famous Land Rover Winter Romp in Maine.

A slightly less silly road trip to Cape Breton that does involve painting flames on a Land Rover.

The series that started it all. A crazy plan to build a Land Rover in one day from assorted bits lying around.

There's a few other videos that might be of interest at Riverport Rovers including the beginning of a Boler trailer refit.

Peter, thank you again for bringing us along on your travels, trials and tribulations as you fix up all three of these boats but especially M/V Geordie. I'm looking forward to watching you as you buildout both the transom and how you solve the challenges of the swoop back on both sides.
Good job bringing the beer of the week back to the original format. It is good to try new things but also keep things that work.
I'm glad the beer of the week is back I don't drink but I know and have friends that enjoy beer it's good to see someone that truly enjoys the beverage I have a son that brews beer at home so I understand the skill and care it takes
love the thought of geordie picked out in bronze glad this is reintergrated
Excellent and well put together. Also, interested to see that you've set out your stall with the winter work. It's a good job you're not scared of hard work and dust. Cheers!!
MV Geordie deserves to have the "Beer or the Week" reincorporated into the show. Glad you changed it back. Keep up the great work!
Can’t wait to see Geordie getting her updates. Thank you for bringing the beer and word of the week back to its proper home.
Much easier to keep beer of the week within the episode. I had a hard time getting to the other one if I didn't click on the link fast enough. What a big list of work you have! Good thing you enjoy it so much and what a home you have created. I continue to enjoy all your episodes, great job on them.
Hats off guys, Love you work on Geordie. Masive works a head in future. Now is time to enjoy these summer days, keep smiling and cruising.
Thanks
Whether separate, or at the end of an episode...I always watch "beer of the week". Cheers.
Love it, Love it, Love It! Beer of the week, Rebuilding MV Geordie, The drone footage from all your travels.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for adding back the beer of the week. Nice when an experiment has such definite results. From a viewer’s perspective, it’s the hook that moves up the show from just another fix-up show into a peek into your and Mrs. Z’S life. Plus you’ve got us to try hazy IPA which we love but were too beer snobish to try.
Heh, glad to help.
At last, a complete tour of your beautiful boat 👍🙂
Beer of the week is back where it should be! Geordie rocks!
But that's the nature of hoping. Do keep it up. I'm chuffed about your plans for MV Geordie. I'm not sure when I found your channel but it's been a few years. I have gone back to your first video and seen them all. Since I live in Victoria I have been able to see Geordie in front of the Empress and in your previous marina as well. You obviously love what you are doing. It's fun to watch.
That’s very kind. thank you.
Great to have an update on your planned projects. So much work, but so much for us viewers to look forward to. I agree with your position on bonding. Our old Chris Craft was bonded when we bought it but had significant hydrolysis problems that improved once I removed the bonding.
Wow! This winter is going to be exciting for us that get to watch you work.
It’s actually difficult to hear about what all you have to do to this amazing boat but if anyone can do it, you’re the man!! I’m looking forward to the journey!!
It was wonderful seeing the old videos of Geordie in last weeks video.
Love that you continue to keep Geordie in all our thoughts. Can’t wait to see the winter’s progress.
Peter, don't be afraid to ask us again if you need a little bump to buy a lot of material for the winter or the spring haul out. Teak and Mahogany isn't cheap, after all. I'm sure a few of us would love to help a little. You give us hours of entertainment, and we want to see Geordie get the treatment she deserves!
Thank you. that’s very kind. I’m always so hesitant about that stuff. but perhaps…..
I also truly miss Geordie, but you keep his memory alive! Peter you really need a boat shed! Not only as an all-weather work space, but to preserve the great work you do! I would not be able to keep up my 1968 Monk cruiser without one.
Very true. but not on my budget.
HI Peter for the stanchions look at useing tungam tube it is used alot for sprinkler systems as well as a number of other uses and when polished loos like bronze and is very resistant to corroision and salt water.
Woo, neat!
Hi Peter.
Hull structure and any roof leaks first.
Interesting about the cabin sloping sides.
I know how it feels to find historic photos and information.
If it ever stops raining.. the UK has only had about one week of what might be described as summer.. (some nights I'm lighting the wood stove)
I will be doing a long list of jobs..
.. two major one's actually..
priority being...
replace forward deck and starboard quarter planks.
then...
various ribs and floors..
and pads.
Gunnel shelf's are this week and probably hull frames.. and chasing a few leaks.
Kindest regards
Bella 🐈 & Mark.
It goes on and on doesn’t it?

Thank you adding back TBOTW. I really like the original format, but can’t blame you for trying new things either! Thank you for the review of Geordie. It’s good to know you will have plenty of content to produce well into the future!
Lost my 7 year old pup Matagi suddenly and unexpectedly this past Monday. It’s nice to see you keep the memories of Geordie close to your heart and your boating passion. I appreciate the BOTW/WOTW coming back to the primary episode as well. 👍🏻
I’m sorry to hear that.
Sorry for your loss. They never live long enough..
Lot of jobs to do👍
I should think a "thank you" is in order...quality content...my builders IQ goes up everytime an episode airs! Ha
Goodonyas!
Word of the week should have been "beer". Stay safe and we'll see you next week.
YAY BOTW is back! 😀 Geordie is going to be sooo sweet once she is done... Though being a boat done is very much a moving target!
So true
Love the pictures of Geordie in every episode. Lots to be done. You have the right idea in that you have a comfortable boat that is good for cruising so the work to be done is just a project that will be accomplished in time.
I remember back when the boat didn’t move….happy to have helped a tiny amount and to see the adventures that she is taking you on
You have great fortitude
Bless you, Peter, for your honesty about the condition of M/V Geordie! You give me, and, I imagine, many others like me, real hope that we, like you, can, with commitment and hard work, maintain and even improve the wooden boats in our care. ❤
I am grateful to you for keeping us up-to-date in your progress with Geordie.
I especially hope you get enough financial support to keep improving Geordie! Thanks for making the videos, they are great!
Watching Travels With Geordie has become my Sunday evening routine over the past 2 years. I sure have enjoyed every show and I’m looking forward to you creating some more sawdust this fall and winter.
You and Geordie were lucky to find each other
Thrilled to hear about Geordie's future too!
Love to see the progress of MV Geordie..and cheers to keeping the Beer of the Week in the episode. Much better
Strongly agree on all counts.
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour thank you. I was away from your site for some time due to no internet access, so caught up again at a point were it sounded like you were not living aboard full time. You corrected me in that , so I was pleased to hear I was wrong in that. So more power to your elbow, NO more Hand Hammering Please and I look forward to the time ahead with you and Geordie.
We always look forward to watching your show on Sundays. Glad you brought BoTW back. We also love that you reference Geordie in all your episodes honoring and keeping him in your memories.
I remember when I first watched one of your videos, you were tearing out that area around the engine on Geordie as you tried to repair it just before you started the crowd funding for the new one.
Peter. So glad you re integrated the beer of the week. I’m embarrassed to admit I couldn’t find them unless I clicked on the link at the time. It was good to round out progress and work to do on Geordie. I am in awe of you skill with wood and pinch many of your ideas and techniques for my own projects. Many thanks. Dave
That’s very kind. thank you.
Can’t wait for the Winter work on Geordie. Enjoy the rest of the summer.
Wow - a lot of work you are planning to do on Geordie!
But hey, listing what you are going to do fits on one A4 page (in my handwriting). Seems achievable. In time.
I'd say brave plans like that do need a brave brew! Cheers to Geordie! And thanks for re-integrating the Beer Of The Week again!
... one A4 😻
do you have very small handwriting 🐱
You transcribed it? cool!
Ha!
Great show and now I'm heading to the kitchen for the beer of the week.
I am really pleased you have returned to the old format. Also r looking forward to seeing the work still to come for Geordie. Have your long term plans for Europe changed?
Still planning on going after doing America’s great loop.
The beer of the week Peter is us watching you have a well deserved beer mate. You are a true craftsman with a passion for beautiful timber boats. Thank you Peter we live your dreams through your channel with most wishing we could do what you are doing. 😊
Thank you so much for putting the beer of the week back in. I missed it.
I like the canopy
well frankly I wish I was able to meet Geordie. My wife is the dog person but I have loved each
of her puppies thru 45 years of marriage.
Thanks for sharing your plans for your boat should be very interesting to see you tackle those projects.
My God, you are ambitious! My motto is you are only limited by your imagination. You have some imagination! Cheers!
I din't mind watching the episode then a separate BotW, but the algorithm is a strange and harsh mistress. I hope the Travels With Geordie brand recovers and ascends to new heights... so long as you keep sharing your journey, I'll keep watching.
Thank you!
I enjoy the beer of the week at the end of your geckos much more then having to watch a second geckos so thank you for bringing it back.
Very candid update on Geordie. Thx for bringing us along! 😊😊😊 John Ken
Boats are much the same or worse than keeping a house ,like the Forth bridge ,a never ending saga ,look forward to seeing your progress and eventual ! Completion😊
Thank you Peter great (and very detailed) list of jobs to keep you going for some time to come!
Very ambitious plans. I hope the best.
Well, that will be a huge and major restoration. And that will be an interesting show to follow.
That sounds like a huge amount of work to undertake in a very short period of time Peter.
Thanks for bringing these of the week back, I always watch the whole show but I've kinda missed the wrap up. Geordie is looking great and you make a fine steward for her continued u
Peter, seems to me like you have quite wonderful plans for her, I will be looking forward to watching it all come together.
Thanks mate.
I know you are looking at a lot of work Peter, but I for one am looking forward to it.
It might have been a meager little donation I made to your engine fund, but it was sent with a heart felt thanks. Thank you for making such great videos!
That had to be the best beer of the week ever, I can't remember having so many cheers, made me want to join you and crack a cold one, cheers.
Lots to do peter with Geordie !!That spread is going to be huge 🤜🤛.
Long time viewer that is continually amazed at all your developments, particularly on Geordie, she being the MV that got me hooked on your channel! Thanks for imbedding BOW back in the episode. cheers.
lookin forward to the upcoming work on MV Geordie. Like you said, Peter your basically going to have a nice looking vessel when its all said and done.
Peter, may I suggest wrapping the instrument panel with a product called EE-ZEE Grip by a company called Sun Process.
It is a black textured material used by many ambulances manufacturers on switch panels...
I used this material on the instrument panel on my father's glider and it makes a fantastic durable finish.
Interesting.
Love seeing Geordie at the end of the shows…💖
Well done Peter, looking forward to seeing your projects on Geordie.
Great to see beer of the week back in its normal place....LOL ..... Yikes a big list you ve got yourself self into .. Well many vids will come out of that for sure!. Take care Peter
Love your plans for the transom. Geordie bigger and better cheers!
Wow, you have quite the long list of projects for Geordie. I just want to say thank you!!! What a perfect way to honor your boat and the memory of Geordie. I am so looking forward to seeing your great work!!!!
I like that beer of the week is back :P.. a suggestion for an episode or half episode, or even to do with an area that you are working on: quick little before and after (and after again) clips or pics.
For example, in my youtube suggestions a thumbnail from 4 years ago popped up showing the old white plywood upper helm... quite the reminder of how it looked before.
Great idea. thanks.
So good to see the beer of the week reintegrated! The episodes without it felt like the ending had just been cut off. Looking forward to the work on Geordie this winter!
Glad to have the beer of the week back! 👍
Fantastic! Your energy and vision for Geordie is inspiring!
Wow, so much to do and yet you have come so far. Looking forward to the ride with you on Geordie.
And what a wonderful Massive project you have coming up. We look forward to enjoying your work. One thought: when you remove the current stencil of your beloved puppy’s name “Geordie” from the transom, cut it out in one piece and frame it. It would be a shame to lose it. Thank you again so much for allowing us to view your life.
Having played with RUclips (a very little bit), many people don’t realize all that is involved in setting up cameras, editing shots, and formatting a video. You’ve really dedicated a lot of your life to this. Kudos, what a great way to live. We would love to hear you play your banjo and guitar sometime.
Thanks for the kind words. great idea on the old transom.
Love Geordie, Also love the beer of the week segment. Thanks for re-integrating BOTW into the main video. p.s. I found it impossible to follow botw from a mobile device. Had to go to the desktop to click on it. Thank you thank you thank you. & cheers. I would love to do a dingy around our bridge deck cruiser, Widgeon. Maybe this summer (Australian time). ruclips.net/video/TvT_-QqA010/видео.html
btw, love the travels with Geordie beer of the week
Thankfully the beer of the week is back. The other word of the week you could have used is "Big Money" because all of the work on Geordie is going to cost a fortune for the wood, as you know better than anyone.
Another great episode. Thanks for keeping on
You have a lot of work for MV Geordie planned out. Looking forward to all of it. When we were doing our refit. I scoured Craigslist and other venues for Honduran Mahogany. I was able to find a good amount. The biggest score was by the Oregon Coast where I found 8 planks. From 8ft to 16ft. All of it was 1.25 inches thick. From 10 inches wide to 16 inches wide. Paid $200 for the lot. Just a suggestion. Cheers.
Wow, you did very very well!
Geordie will look great when you finish, although that is a ton of work. I don't drink, but did enjoy the beer of the week feature-especially when y'all had too much to drink and couldn't pronounce someone's name!😁 Glad you took us cruising. Maybe longer next summer(?) Look forward to following your work. Blessings.
Thank you. there’s more cruising coming this summer.
You are a very competent tradesman and the fact you use tung oil instead of a high quality yacht varnish means you aren't afraid of hard work (although IMHO it doesn't protect the wood nearly enough) I once had a 1964 fiberglass cruiser (Seamaster), it was a very nice boat and a lot of people liked to keep them original but unless they are like they came out of the factory then why not make the changes they would have used if they had had the technology we have today. Personally I put an old (pre 1973 oil crisis) fiberglass boats about the best construction anyone can buy, over 1" thick hull and 3/4" everywhere else, even if the interior need a total refit still the boat will still be maintenance free for decades to come, mine was totally original and perfect, it's not like mine didn't have wood all throughout inside, beautiful pinstripe floors marine plywood and all the rest was mahogany faced ply or solid mahogany, I just don't get why there is this competition between construction material when fiberglass wins hands down. Anyway if you are going to keep a wooden boat (plank construction) then canvas is the best because if you fiberglass over planks the expansion cracks the resin, marine plywood is better but still can go at the joints, as a builder you know it's about how materials expand and contract with temp and humidity.
Thanks for the great. moment. so much good stuff there. I can assure you though that I only use tung oil as the first coat. After that it’s lots of coats of Epifanes.
@@TravelsWithGeordie Sorry for the ramble lol, I would suggest trying "international paint" for any finishing, they have been number1 in the UK for decades.
Great tour I love the work that you do, keep the faith and always remember money is no object, love your show.
Good luck with all that work me hearty.....I shall be with you in spirit grafting away!
Hello, the boat is a work of art. Cheers
I am super curious to see how you are going to build the new house. I would strongly suggest that you reglass the decks with the house off. Also, canvas house tops and decks work well, but it is hard to find big enough pieces of seamless canvas. Because of that I would suggest glassing the deck. Lots of people use dynel fabric set in epoxy since it gives a textured surface very much like canvas but it is much tougher and stays waterproof much longer. When I built my new house top I laminated the house top from layers of 5/32" marine plywood and then glassed over that. I used 10 oz glass cloth set in epoxy and filled the weave with epoxy for a smooth finish that I then applied nonskid to. If I was doing it again I would glass the house top as I did and then put down a layer of dynel to give the textured surface. Yes it would cost a good deal more, but I think the effect would be worth it. As far as the house top structure goes, I would suggest laminating deck beams, screwing t&G fir v-groove to the beams and then epoxy laminating thin plywood over that. If you paint the deck beams and fir T&G before you install them, you will have a finished interior cabin top as soon as the fir goes down. I used 5/8" fir T&G to keep the weight down and then clamped the plywood to that using a few hundred pan head screws that were removed after the epoxy kicked. I then filled the screw holes with thickened epoxy before glassing the cabin top.I laminated my deck beams from Douglas Fir since I was painting them, but you could laminate the beams from mahogany and finish them bright if you want that look. My hack for that was to screw a 1/4" thick strip of bright finished mahogany to the bottom of the white painted beams.
We almost dropped by to visit you and Geordie last Friday morning in my lapstrake express cruiser, but wasn't sure if you were back from cruising. Also, we were planning to cross Boundary Pass that day, so decided to press onward before winds picked up.
Your plans sound great I wish you well on your journey and look foreward to see them put into action .
Cheers to the return of B.O.T.W. It coincides nicely with The Great British Beer Festival here in Kensington Olympia. 🍻 Geordie ➡ 🐕🦺
Thanks for all! Beer of the week....
What a lot of work, good luck with your project.
You’re right about the swoop!
Beer of the week - I did click through but much better as was...
Dear Peter I can't wait for this winter to watch you work on Gordie this winter I certainly hope that you have enough funds to afford all that lovely teak if you plan to take the roof off use marine plywood and paint both sides with epoxy clear coat and then go ahead and lay your cloth down and coat it with resin when that setup you use the squeegee to work at the resin into cloth back and forth until all saturated after that set you can use fiberglass gelcoat either spray tan or brushed on with a hardener mixed in it looks very nice either brushed it is thin enough it lays down very nicely and glossy when it is set
