I'm a big fan Ian's musicianship, but, definitely, the Saints needed the ethereal touch Which Meriel gave to the band. I still listen regularly the three albums. 😊
@@Ignatius1972 personally I like the Meriel-only era more than the Ian-only era of the band (both is best tho). She's very underrated and so is Slow Buildings, she has a beautiful voice too but more of a knack for melodies than Ian imo. That being said all three albums are good, but Slow Buildings is incredibly underrated.
