Useful video, thanks. I use a strap for concert and bigger if I’m playing standing up; it just feels less of a distraction that the uke might slide down.
I also hold my uke nearer 45 degree angle and I’ve noticed that people who also play guitar as well as uke, tend to hold theirs more horizontally. Maybe?

No strap yet. Tenor probably need one. Usually play sitting down but I really want to get one those daddariono button straps that go in the sound hole.
    Cheers.

Important title this! I am so "classical", that I normally start with any instrument by thinking of/teaching the most ergonomical way of holding an instrument. It is a matter of safety - no reason to cause any sport injuries in playing - and also: why to make playing more difficult than it is? The most ergonomical is most efficient for technique, too. So I think :) I have no straps on ukuleles and guitarleles and concert guitar because I do not want to harm the body of them. On streelstringed acoustical guitar and a bass do I have a strap - but still tend to play also them in "classical" sitting position. I do mostly fingerpicking, so I play them quite in the same position as I play classical guitar (so the left leg a bit higher on guitar stool or box or something, and the instrument is hold on the left tight) - or if strumming I sometimes put on the right tight instead. I really feel unstable and clumsy with a strap even with guitar :) So if standing, I also mostly stand on right foot, step with the left one onto stool for to get almost the same steady position or use a strap that goes over the neck and has a "hook" to the soundhole. The only problem with that kind of a strap is, that if the instrument is heavy (like normal sized guitar is), it causes me tension on shoulders and neck - and any tension anywhere is causing problems "in long run" to the technique. The "normal" strap that goes over the shoulders balances the weight better, I think. But: I certainly need to force me at least a bit to try to play - at least with the soprano sized - just standing both legs on ground and without any strap: then I would not be dependent of any helping tools ;)

The content is great, but please stop it with a 2 minute intro asking about subscribing and liking the video. If people like the content, there is really no need to ask for it. Otherwise, at least do it at the end.
    Happy holidays!

Terry, why do you ask us to comment in this section? Most of the time there is no answer to the things people say.
Nevertheless... I wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas.
