When I learn a new word, I would like to look it up in Wiktionary, in which it offers pretty good sources on Etymology. By the explanations in the Etymology part, we can get a better sense of a single word, at least normally! Like mermaid- mer(sea, lake) + maid(girl) BTW, it is not only useful for English learning, but also many other European languages!
Your channel is like treasure for me and one of the places where i can boost my language goal. Your active and funny behavior can easily boost my mood to improve my language journey. Thanks a lot. 😍
Excellent tips. What I do and find it powerful to remember the words is to transform the passive vocab into active ones. One way is to select 1-2 words everyday and try to use the selected words as much as you can in different occasions such as thinking in my mind, writing it down in a couple of sentences, speaking to yourself or another person and so on.
@@jmg1619 I feel like the more I surround myself with the English language ( films, books etc.) the more I get a feeling for it and notice when something I say is wrong. And then I try to change the sentence structure or use another word to see if it sounds better. However I think as a non-native speaker mistakes will probably happen all the time, which is fine :)
@@anne_bckmnn for sure if we submerged ourselves completely into the language it’ll be easier. In my case it’s been a roller coaster journey. Fortunately, I made a good decision to live in a English speaking country. It’s very demanding though, but I’m happy to keep improving to get a higher command of it. Grammar and pronunciation are the clue. Happy days!🌸😊
Oh my God . When l started watching this channel three years ago ,l did not understand anything . But now l understood everything . l live en Ecuador . And l am studying english by myself . Sometimes it's difficult because in my country nobady speaks English .
Thank you that much!! Very useful tips even though I knew some of them, especially the active learning, not only the passive one by listening... I could try to speak English on my on when I am on my train back home, just pretending to talk with a friend, right!?!? 😊😁
Hello! I've been learning English since my childhood but I'm still not fluent😢 It is like desperate situation, what should I do to succeed? I'm fed up with being screwed and stressed
It's highly unlikely that you'll reply to this since this is a 1 month old video but, I feel like my English skills are some what declining, I've achieved a b in CPE exam before. I don't know where I can get resources for anything harder than CPE for me to practice with daily or study further. I want to keep myself in top condition and keep my standards high. Is there anything I can do to help myself?

Talking to myself is honestly so helpful! I do it all the time and it improved my English and helped me to become more confident 😊
I do the same but sometimes I question myself if what I’m saying is correct. Is it? 😊🌸😊
We’re on the same boat!
