I am a grandma and recently discovered how much I enjoy trains, steam and models. Now I realize why the Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot films draw me-it's the British steam trains in them! Subbed and TY for refreshing the childhood memories of dad's train play.
12:25 that is beautiful and really captures that time. The modeling is just beautiful. I've never seen a 3-rail layout modeled that nice or even two rail. Thanks for the post.
Hi, just wanted you to know that I just happened upon your channel so I did all 3, subscribed, thumbs up and hit the bell 🔔 icon. You have one of the most gorgeous layouts that I’ve seen, very well detailed and very well done, oh ya, GREAT JOB! Merry Christmas to you and yours, thanks for sharing (BTW I had to pause it half way through to tell you this and of course subscribe), stay healthy and safe. Keep them coming please. Ron
Ive been wanted to gey this thing, but the price is just way too much for its own good. Plus im more into HO scale than anything, but man, this one is just so beautiful
Well actually, these aren’t all mine. This is just a compilation of a bunch of other people’s layouts and models. Yeah, they can get really expensive . You can find models like these at www.Lionelstore.com, or Amazon or EBay, and a lot of other places.
Well the smoke and Noise is very well for a video it gets noisy and smelly after a while. You got a brand new 10-year old Lionel locomotive with all the bells and whistles and most of it doesn't work right out of the box. You put new foam insulating underneath the mighty sound of steam and it keeps working. Something goes out on the motherboard everything works but the most important part which is for the engine to run forward. I know a guy who gutted his PS1 locomotive. Now it runs and it smokes and it lights up no more sound no more Bells no more whistles. It only runs conventional but at least it runs. For stuff that's made in China when people make $2 an hour this stuff is super super expensive. Why?
Wonderful video of a fantastic layout. Someone really knows how to work the quill able whistle fuction. Only negative to me, it's a personal pet peeve, is the crew talk. It just sounds way too staged and phoney. I've never cared for it myself. Thanks for sharing it.
it was against the rules for anybody but a crew member to relay the aspect or indication of a signal. For a tower operator to say he had a clear signal was a big no-no. And really I don't think they had many radios during steam engine days
@@StrictlySteam yeah I believe my father had bought all of these back in the '90s but I think 91 but 93 through those ears so all in boxes with the conductors and paperwork I don't know what I'm going to do with them
@@StrictlySteam I believe back in 9293 we went somewhere to like New York we are from New Jersey but there was like a big show going on with the Lionel's and I was like maybe 11 years old and he just enjoying getting on the trains and traveling on them and I bought a few like memorabilias water paintings of the trains and stuff

The Pere Marquette backing out of the roundhouse at 7:25 is remarkably realistic! One of the best scenes I've seen.
Yes, it is quite incredible! Probably one of the best I’ve seen as well. Thanks for the comment!
@@StrictlySteam the that that owns that lay out has a youtube channel you should give him credit ruclips.net/user/normcharbonneau
Yea I wish I had that
Wow I didn’t have an idea there are such realistic trains!
My favorite, too. Wow!!
12:25 that is beautiful and really captures that time. The modeling is just beautiful. I've never seen a 3-rail layout modeled that nice or even two rail. Thanks for the post.
It is, right! It’s definitely is one of the nicest layouts I’ve ever seen before. Thanks for the comment!
@@StrictlySteam my favorite one is the New York Central engine coupling to the freight cars
Cam King ,I love it to! The engine is known as a Hudson,at least I think…

I love the video with the Pere Marquette 1225. You can tell a lot of work went into making that clip.

The train looks great but some of the rails on the track look like a really bad fit. One of the best videos I have seen in a long time.

Nice compilation. But I’d suggest crediting the owners of the videos.
TrainfanJackson4023 you’re right.
4:20 Thats one impatient driver XD
Ha ha! 😄
16:12 those yellow coaches are beautiful! Whats there name?
As they always say, with a diesel, it's another train. But with a steam locomotive, it's a happening.
Haha! That’s great! 👍
Awesome 👏
Ignore the thumbs down guy. Good video 👍
R X R Joeys Trains thanks! By the way, that thumbs down was just my annoying brother.

Anyone know what train that is at 7:45. Edit) I found it

I love down town literly
Hey Lionel make a snowpiercer polar express
What I don't see is the Tropicana freezer box
Haha! Lionel did make some really nice rolling stock, of course.
16:17 I have that engine!
Railfan & Railroad Productions Cool!

PghTrainFanatic yes! I choose wisely!
Strictly Steam you done good! ☺️
Strictly Steam next time put my channel name in the corner 👍🏼 lol
