    Having both myself, I agree.
With my Pro I'm more diligent on making sure my linear rails are clean and lubricated with way lube after every use. But I just ran some aluminum plate on it and the Pro ate it for dinner even thought I wasn't running optimally with a mist nor single flute.
My SO4.....I just kinda run harder than I did my my SO3, but not as hard as my Pro, then just shut it off and walk away for the night. :)

Great comparisons and SWEET SHIRTS! I really wish I had opted for the S3 XL rather than the XXL that I currently have. I don't use the extra capacity and could really use the space in my shop. Hindsight I guess...! You are correct in saying "be honest with yourself" because I knew I probably wouldn't have needed the extra size especially with my first machine.

Why 33 inches, though. That's just a weird dimension. The natural size would be to accommodate a 2' x 4' sheet of plywood like is common from the home centers.

Yep, not much of an upgrade. They are being smart business people and making an “new” model so they can raise the price. This is how you stay in business. The shapeoko is an awesome first cnc. When Winston is taking about more precision in the 4 I would really want to see him prove that. There are many factors that control precision and repeatability and a cnc this light weight it will be very hard to keep repeatable dims and tolerances.
