Hi! Thank you for creating this video, its been really helpful. I'm a medical graduate and I'm looking at healthcare consulting as an alternative to residency. If you dont mind, can you create a video centered around building a consulting resume as a medical doctor/graduate and how to leverage our skillset for consulting? Thank you !
I have my MHA and will have my PMP soon. I do Healthcare Strategy Consulting independently so I could get rid of the overhead (prev. Gov contractor) and I LOVE listening to other consultants break things down and explain their processes. Doing this independently picking up on new techniques and other explanations of the basics is more helpful than you know. I plan to watch some of your other videos as well!
Hello. I need help with this question. I'm new to health care consulting and I want to know, what training and skills do I need to have, to excel in healthcare consulting. You talked about data analysis. What specific training should I look to get?
i bet you, the number one solution to a major portion of healthcare woes (like those falls) is BETTER STAFFING. hospitals be stretching nurses THIN. better pay and staffing, that's all there is to it
Thank you for this helpful video. Do you think someone with a bachelors degree and several years of healthcare experience would be knowledgeable enough to become a healthcare consultant?
Yes absolutely - the industry experience you have is something that healthcare consulting practices really value. For your situation, it'd be about solidifying the reason why you'd want to move into healthcare consulting and demonstrating the skills needed to succeed in the job. I'll be posting more about this in the future!
Hi Seda! Yes I did leave medicine for consulting - I completed my Foundation Training in the NHS (equivalent to 2 years of general internship) then switched into consulting immediately afterwards (no additional schooling or degree in between the career change). Thank you so much for your kind words - let me know if you have any other questions!
@@withtheshums I actually just landed a job with Oracle/Cerner as Federal Learning Specialist and your channel helped me get more information so I could ace the interview. Thank you!
@@AMarsTheStone I'm so glad to hear! I'll be posting more videos about what to expect, how to succeed etc. - hope that you'll find them useful as you begin to start out 😀

Really informative video, thanks so much! I’m a fellow UK doctor also interested in healthcare consulting, I was wondering if you would be open to chatting to me about it - I’d really appreciate it considering our similar backgrounds. Hi Madhu! I'll have more videos on this in the future, but essentially it was about leveraging my previous experience (a doctor) and applying it to the role. I researched the types of engagements the specific firm did and indicated how I might be a good fit. Prior to applying, I reached out to some team members to get a sense of the culture and environment as well. Hope that's helpful - there's more to share in the future!
