We visited the island last September. Being from San Francisco I couldn't leave all of my heart there but I did leave a chunk. You are right in the center of Paris and walking distance to so many sites. On Ile St. Louis you have the feeling of being cradled the The City of Lights arms.
Great video! Was in Paris only once, so far. The people were just great! Very nice and polite and they appreciate it when an American pulls out his/her Berlitz to attempt French phrases. Unfortunately, Paris, like everywhere else today, costs BIG although there are some nice relatively "cheaper" hotels and rooms to stay at. Paris IS a romantic city so go with someone if you can.
Nice - just returned from ile-Saint-Louie where we stayed on the main street in a boutique hotel that used to be a royal tennis court. Ate at all the restaurants but especially loved L' Hot Vache. This is the place to stay when in Paris!
Thank you SO much for your kind words! We love Paris, and we are very happy to hear that our videos are helping you for your trip to the City of Lights!
I LOVE Ile St. Louis! You forgot to mention the two parks on either end of the island! The one on pont de sully is the coolest part (temperature wise), where you can see the Seine stretching forth ahead of you. On the other side is the quai de borbone (probably spelled wrong) which is right across the Ile de la cite where the Notre Dame cathedral is at. Its smaller, cozier, more isolated, and sooo romantic! Its just a stone's throw from Lutetia, the cafe behind the host at the beginning!
Wonderful tour. I was hoping to hear about a bit more history of the area, especially during the 30's and 40's. WW II Era especially. I'm reading Robert Clary's book 'From the Holocaust to Hogan Hero's ' and his depiction of his childhood there and also Madame Halphen's building that she built for poor Jewish families. On the door still has a plaque of the number of children killed in campus from the apartment. This history would be what would make me visit the area. However I understand if this information may not be what your toes focus on. What I did see made me also interested in the area. Thank you very much!
This is the Type of place in France;I would like to relocate; If I move to France.Very similar to Manhattan East and West Side.Happy August and Summer 2022.
@Anrwi Thanks a lot for your comment; we love the Ile-Saint-Louis too! Our mistake, but we take good note of it! Besides, we really appreciate that you share your personal thoughts on these two parks. :) Ah, Paris...! :)
Thank you for this very informative video. My family and I are staying in an apartment on l'ile Saint-Louis in late April during our daughter's spring break from study in Nantes. We can't wait! Do you have any suggestions for restaurants/bistros that are suitable for a five year-old? Thanks again!
@iwona7grodzka Thanks a lot for your kind comment! We couldn't agree more with you, this neighborhood is so unique, and magical. Actually, the whole city itself - Paris - is kind of magical! We have new video tours of Paris coming soon, stay tuned ;)
@cuoredeinidi Thank you so much for your comment! Indeed, this area of Paris is amazing, almost magical. Paris is an incredible city, and the Ile-Saint-Louis is one of the city's most incredible treasures. Definitely a place you can't find anywhere else in the world, with its unique atmosphere, and beauty! :)

Read- Nancy B. Brewer's book "Garnet"
The MC was excellent, but the videographer's constant panning gave me a headache. Very amateur video quality.
Thanks! Make sure to watch our other Video Tours of Paris ;)
