Bridleways like that are best left in their natural state with perhaps some sympathetic maintenance. There'd be no challenge otherwise. Snowdonia National Park in their wisdom decided to "upgrade" a bridleway from Capel Curig over to Llyn Crafnant in North Wales. They basically turned a beautiful old route over the hills into a surfaced highway.
@@WiltshireMan apparently the Snowdonia National Park had some extra funds that had to be used before the end of the financial year. You'd cry if you were to see it, tons of aggregate that sticks out like a sore thumb, some stone pitching and drainage were all that was needed. I know they aren't legal in the UK but getting up twisting muddy trails -- especially from a dead stop -- is the real utility of an ebike throttle. They save your knees. Some people use them to zip around without pedaling but I don't see the sense in that. Get an electric motorcycle if that's what you want to do. E-bike throttles are best at delivering a short burst of torque when you need to pull out of a rut and get across an intersection quickly or to avoid a car. This is especially true with heavier ebikes like cargo ebikes when they are loaded with groceries and kids.
Haaha, well the ebikes do make it a bit easier. I'm away on another adventure now Nobby. Cycling across the country on a parallel ride to the Wainwrights coast to coast. It's called the Way of the Roses. When I get back I'll chuck some dough your way for the charity:)
@@WiltshireMan A little advice Sandy if you come on a E mountain bike make sure it has walk assist, it’s a very steep climb lots of loose rocks and boulders.

@@willhas8416 From what I understand Will after a little bit of research you can ride an ebike on a bridle path as long as the ebike conforms to UK regulations and has a max speed of 15.5mph. A derestricted ebike is classed as a motor vehicle

@@WiltshireMan love you
You’ll have to try jacobs ladder in the Peak District now. Edale near castleton.
Something that is on the wish list Neil
@@WiltshireMan A little advice Sandy if you come on a E mountain bike make sure it has walk assist, it’s a very steep climb lots of loose rocks and boulders.
BRIDAL WAY 💯💪
We don't have a big motorway up here Sandy 😉😉
Yes I know, I hate big motorways!
Certainly gave the bike a good test.
Did you find the weight of the ebike make it ungainly and difficult to control on the technical bits of the climb?
It's going to turn and react slower than a lighter bike for sure, but then a motorcycle is even heavier and look how well they cope with green lanes etc
Sandy what do you think to the e bike then ? Will it last ?
I think it will last quite well, sofar no problem and around 250 miles on the clock. The Bafang motors are known for reliability and longevity
Nothing against "e"bikes, but cost to coast by Brompton sounds brilliant
Well done! That was a tough challenge, wasn't that Mandy behind you at the beginning?
Yes, that was Mandy, she cycled part of the way then peeled off to go shopping.
It’s bad enough walking up there let alone cycling. Not been up there for sometime. May have to go for a bimble.
You should get up there again Mark, it's a lovely walk
I drink all cind of tea!👍👍👍👍
Yes Tea can be made from many plants:)
Sandy, i find it odd you don't ware cycle gloves, i ware padded fingerless gloves every time i cycle, feel lost without them 🚴♂️
I should try a pair, but uptil now I have never worn gloves apart from in cold weather
@Wiltshire Man I get sore hands if I don't wear them. BTW I'm from Trowbridge, and I'm 60 this year as well. I ride an interceptor, I will introduce myself if I see you at a 🏍 meeting. 😎
I'm 65 almost half your age, I don't think I can keep up with you.
haha
Hi 👋 great bike and review. Unfortunately out of my price range and retired. Could you tell me if you still have the trax if so would you consider selling to me many thanks
Best regards Chris
Hi Chris, The bike is Th Cyrusher ranger. It now has around 240 miles on it. Where do you live?
@@WiltshireMan Hi thanks for getting back must have got wires crossed, would be interested if others with the trax don't back to me , as I want the pedal torque assist, I'm in North Yorkshire York what would you be asking for it 🤔🙂
Hi Chris I've not really thought about what it might be worth, don't know! New they are £2700. It's a nice bike, I'll probably regret selling it if it went. @@chrisdeane-w6q
Hairy!
It's a shame, some of those old houses once overlooked a quiet leafy lane, now that have all that noise and pollution, sadly. Plus that ever present hum of the M4... I think that steep climb is made for down only haha... As I type that, you head on down....!!!! Enjoy the slurpy
Yes Bry I agree absolutely, they call it progress. I am eager to get away from the noise of traffic which these days is almost incessant, it bruises the senses but apart from that what a beautiful time of year this is, everything is so vibrant and green:)
Did i see the mrs in the distance when you started
Yes Daniel, you did, she went a different way, off to the shops:)
I’m trying to figure out where that is. I’d walk it tho 😂
Hi Dave, it's on the southe side of swindon, a bridle path that runs from Pipers way to Byrdrop park, you should be able to find it on Google maps
My nan did this on her mobility chair
Haahaa Nice one:)
I’m sorry Sandy but this is a bad video for you I I can’t see any less damage by any other motorised vehicle electric or petroleum than what you’re doing.? Will
Not sure I understand your comment Will. I'm not out to prove a point, just enjoying riding my Ebike along a tricky steep route
Hi Sandy,
I’ve used my E-bike quite a lot and been stopped a few times of using my E-bike on bridal ways and footpaths and been told motorised vehicle’s are not allowed on all on bridal-ways.
Cheers Will
@@willhas8416 From what I understand Will after a little bit of research you can ride an ebike on a bridle path as long as the ebike conforms to UK regulations and has a max speed of 15.5mph. A derestricted ebike is classed as a motor vehicle
