Something I started doing a few months ago: Every time I *want* to buy something but end up *not* purchasing it, I take that exact same amount of money and transfer it to my savings! I was ready to part with the money anyway, so I just give it to my future self instead :)
There was a juicer I wanted for years, but I could not justify the expense. I was thrilled when I saw it at a church sale, the price $5 new in the box. I got it home, opened the box and pulled it out. Though easy to use, after use clean up was a nightmare. I’m not mechanical at all. I mean, I still turn the door knob the wrong way most of the time. 🤦♀️ let’s just say it found a new home. But, it was a $5 well spent as it taught me a valuable lesson and I no longer “wanted it.”
My dr actually told me instead of a gym membership i could do simple stuff at home like using can goods as "dumbbells" for strength training, walking up/down stairs intentionally for cardio, lifting larger items bending at the knees for squats.
Only just discovered your channel today - love it. I'm a health coach and some of your budgeting tips are brilliant for my clients, can't wait to share them with them as we have one session where we cover shopping and budgeting. Shopping your pantry is such an obvious one and I don't think I've ever mentioned it before!
Thank you Sarah. We are one car people now. We got rid of our truck. It does save on repairs, insurance and license plates. Merry Christmas to Jake and you. Hugs from Ohio ❤
6 is so true. I read the comments of one video promoting air fryers & one woman was buying her 3 air fryers & a frying pan that was promoted. The couple were family oriented & people felt comfortable & trusted them. I became disenchanted when they advocated a certain diet, promoting it a a cure & was giving wrong information that if followed could be dangerous.
We have to have 2 vehicles, but we’re going to start switching vehicles because my work is much closer to home and my husbands truck guzzles premium gas compared to my little Honda. They are both paid off though! 🎉
Such good tips! You’ll enjoy this story, Sarah. Just today, I went shopping and saw 50% off signs everywhere in one particular store. At one point, I had numerous Christmas bags, boxes, and bows in my cart to purchase, store, and save for next year. Thankfully, the store was busy and I had to wait in line which gave me time to think. I reminded myself I don’t buy many gifts to start with, I just tried using up all the wrapping/bags I already had (I STILL have some…🙃) and I’m certain there will be 50% off sales next year too. I’m so glad I decided not to buy all that stuff. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas! ❤🎄❤
Love to hear more people talking about high yield savings accounts that I didn’t know anything about until the last 4-5mo…. Really wish I had know about those when we had 30k in savings before our sons headed to colleges. We missed out on a chunk of a return letting it sit in our safe or our local bank accounts with
I've been wrestling with whether to purchase a steam mop to "make cleaning my floors easier," but I just can't bring myself to do it. I dread finding out that it's just not worth the trouble of using it and having one more thing to store.
I keep seeing advertisements on the tv for a meal you want delivered. I think they send you the exact amount of ingredients for said dish you want to prepare along with the recipe on how to put together all the ingredients that were sent to you.
Bubbles has such gorgeous markings! We are currently taking care of my daughter's bunny and the food and bedding are quite expensive. Fostering is a great financial hack!
Thank you!! He was an adorable rabbit to foster, and now we are currently fostering a lop named Cinder! That's so kind of you to take care of your daughter's bunny!
Hey, im new to your channel. I absolutely love it. We do have a problem. My husband gets SS but he's still working. He got a letter telling him that they overpaid him $6,000 for last year. He has 30 days to pay it back. He talk to them about it. They'll be taking a big chunk out a month. Its going to hurt for a very long time. Im worried sick. We're buying our house. My husband is a mechanic. He has tools debt. Its not that bad. I think the pay off is around $500. He buys what he needs. I dont know what to do. Its really overwhelming. We dont have any tv subscriptions. Please help. ❤
Thanks for sharing Sarah 👍 I think of you as good with money so this is helpful 😊 How lovely you had a good experience fostering bunnie rabbit bubbles🐰Merry Christmas, peace and goodwill this festive season🎄 Your house move is something good to look forward to in 2024 🏡
I appreciate it, Sandra, and wish the same to you! We are very excited about the future house, and we actually picked up another rabbit to foster this morning!
As I analyze I believe no company or business would loose , I meant they advertise false sales, a buy one get second is free is not true, the prize of the second is on the first item, yeah I'm I correct ,we get fooled by marketing 😂

I love this story! And clean up from a juicer is no joke!
Great story! Thanks for sharing! A great reminder 💞
"Shop first from your home. It's free, u already own it" 😂
My gosh, I love this! I'm writing it out now as inspiration for my low buy January 💞
My dr actually told me instead of a gym membership i could do simple stuff at home like using can goods as "dumbbells" for strength training, walking up/down stairs intentionally for cardio, lifting larger items bending at the knees for squats.
So true about the desire for an item will pass. Save it in a cart and come back in a week and most of the time its really not wanted anymore❤
I have a friend who fosters cats. In the space of a year since she started, she's had 23 cats.
That's amazing!
God Bless her for being kind to animals ❤😊

Thank you for this common sense approach to saving and having purchase regrets.
You are very welcome!

#1- yes! Fumio Sasaki said if things could make us happy, we would never have to buy more things. ❤ Happy New Year , everyone!
Yes yes yes to that!

Well done, Diane! I love that story! It turns out the waiting in line was a positive thing!

These are absolutely important questions to consider.
If I may , I've had a steam mop for approximately 4 years and have found it to be one of my most valuable tools .
@@laurawood4476 TY for telling me. Can you share the name brand?
We have one at home for at least 5 years best investment we ever made.
Yeah, if we could try it out, the decision would be much easier. So we buy the pig in a poke.
Wonderful. So savvy! This is a great video with great information for those who want to start a change in the New Year. Very informative! 🌍☮️🌲
Thank you, Jennie! I appreciate it!

I think it' s fake when for example on amazon someone' s written "great product" but only 2 of five stars.

My wallets I bought should of kept money and set it aside
