    From a nurse, not being critical but have your mom go over technique with you. A few steps were missed. But you still did a great job. Austin deserves a sucker and you too lol.
    You guys are amazing and I love your family and content.

    That’s wild that they didn’t teach you on the injections. When we did IVF, we had a detailed injection lesson online with an RN before we could start our cycle. I promise you, it becomes second nature after the first couple. For the intramuscular injections, my husband had to do those as they had to go in my hip/upper butt and I couldn’t reach there easily. All the belly injections I did myself. I had over a 100 injections to do at home for the IVF cycle. You’ll look back on this first injection thinking “why was I so worried about it” after a while. You’ve got this

    • @jennburgess1987
      @jennburgess1987 7 месяцев назад

      Yes! I just went through IVF too and we got detailed instructions as well. I did all my shots myself in my butt bc I had to do them at work and had nobody to help.

    • @Christina-hj4hh
      @Christina-hj4hh 7 месяцев назад

      @@jennburgess1987 luckily I work from home so I could just get my husband to do those. I could reach but it wasn’t the easiest for me so got him to do them. Couldn’t imagine having to do them while working outside of the home. Good on you

But geez Jess, when you were walking around still holding the needle I was sitting in my Condo and said "put the needle down Jess". When you continued to hold it I found myself shouting "PUT THE NEEDLE DOWN JESS"!!! You were both so brave. But my nerves are shot now. 😰🥰🤗

Now (19 years later) here I am giving myself shots to try to control my chronic migraines. You did great, Jess! You too, Austin! Love and hugs from Norway!

    I recently did a course of needles and I'm totally needle phobic, hate them, have hated them since I was 7. Screamed and cried. It really wasn't too bad. You get used to it. Don't go super slow but don't jab it. Take a deep breath and let it out as you insert it and then do another one as you do the injecting and removal.

    I give my husband a shot every other week of testosterone. You two were identical to how we reacted. He laughed and I was crying afterwards. I didn’t want to give him a shot! Now it’s like nothing for me but still hard on him. We also use a smaller needle 25 g x 1in I give the shot in his upper arm in the muscle. Been about 20 years now doing that. You both did great husband and I watched together. Just like us!! Husband says you will feel better Austin! 😵‍💫🤗💙

    I hate needles too but I’ve started giving myself monthly migraine preventative medication injections. What makes it easier for me though is that I don’t have to use that type of needle. Mine are preloaded and I can’t even see the needle going into the skin which is the part that freaks me out. I actually had to cover the screen on my phone as she did it because I can’t watch that at all without getting goosebumps all over. 😂

    Let me tell you, the kids are going to remember riding those rides with y’all! As soon as Austin kind of started moving the car I just burst into tears! My dad just passed away unexpectedly in 2021 but when I saw that I was reminded of my 10th birthday when we were in Ohio (we’re from Texas) and we were visiting an aunt and uncle. They took us to an amusement park there called Cedar Point that has a double Ferris wheel. When we were on the very top I was eating my cotton candy thinking how cool it was when my dad started shaking the cart. All of sudden I didn’t think it was cool anymore!!!
    Now onto the injections. I have two older brothers that unfortunately have since passed away. My very oldest brother passed away from diabetic complications. He was 51 at the time and he was 18 months when he was diagnosed with type I diabetes. At the time they my mom he wouldn’t live to be over 10. When he was 10 he wanted to go on a Boy Scouts trip but my dad told him he had to be able to give himself his shots. I do realize the needles are much much smaller but I think when you’re 8 that doesn’t matter and he learned to give himself his shots and check his own blood sugar.

    We have season passes to lagoon this year(haven't been in a few years), we've already gone twice this season. Easter day was perfect! It was a bit cold so we bundled up and it was fine, with that said, zero lines so we went on Primortal twice and literally evey ride in the park within 3 hours. Best day ever! Then we went last Sunday too. I went to lagoon as a kid almost every year so those core memories are the sweetest. I'm so glad your kids get to create those memories with you. Believe me they will talk about it there entire lives. Lagoon is amazing. And the kid rides are actually fun ha.

    The trick is to just do it quick. The slower you insert the needle the more painful it will be. Also one thing I learned as a medical assistant is to never recap the needle. You risk poking yourself with it. Just discard the whole thing into a sharps container right after use. Also now that the medication bottle is open make sure you clean the top every-time before sticking the needle in it. You both will get the hang of it. ❤

    Jess next time draw air into the needle and put the air into the vile and then draw the T solution. I had to give myself an intramuscular needle for MS and the nurse who taught me to give myself the needle every week told me to do that. You shouldn't get any air bubbles in the needle next time. It makes a huge difference. Austin it gets easier, trust me. I was needle phobic and after awhile it didn't bother me anymore. Good luck my friend

    I totally understand, anyone, having to give themselves shots. I have blood clots and after 2 days in the hospital (this was my 2nd round in the ER)) the nurse comes in and says 'do you want to go home?'. I said yes of course, i've had blood clots for years, I'm fine. She goes 'ok, well I need to teach you to give yourself the shots'. I said 'OH NO F'N WAY LADY!!'. I've never sworn at a professional but it wasn't happening!! After about 30 mins of me being in tears fighting her on it, I finally did it. Yes it sucks and your brain tells you not to do it cause it hurts so it's a lot easier for someone else to do it for you! I hope Jess gets a little less nervous each time...and BREATHE WOMAN!! Don't hold your breath lol. I'm glad you got some answers Austin and hopefully are on a path that leads you to better days! 💗💗

    I give myself monthly injections for migraines and it gets easier each injection. Now that being said, the first time I had to do it myself I had to re-read the instructions several times, call my mom video chat, and have a conversation to distract myself. I've been doing self injections for over a year now and I still re-read the instructions and get a little nervous, but it's nowhere near as nervous racking as it was at first. You can do it!

    Was worried I would hurt him or mess it up etc. Took me a few minutes to muster up the courage to just do it!!
    I was so relieved. I also held my breath lol, now it's 123 all done. a littler hint when I give my husband his testosterone shot, I warm it up with body heat, (in my bra) if no pockets, due to the medication being so think, I find it helps with filling the needle to the right amount a little quicker as well as administering it! Hope that helps some!!!
    P.S. I cleaned the top of the bottle with an alcohol wipe before dispensing the medication!!!

    Hey Austin, I'm excited for you, this hormone treatment might help your beard grow in fuller. Who knows, your voice might become deeper too.

    I have to give myself 3 shots weekly. One in thigh and two in stomach. They don’t hurt especially if they use the smaller needles. Any questions just ask.

    The girls are braver than I am. I used to live near lagoon. They went on some rides that I won't go on. Lol

    I've given many of those injections. Most guys have said they prefer it in the hip if you can convince them to try it there.

    One way to get more Vitamin D is to be in the sun more. SOOOO, ya'll pack up the kids and come south. Destin/Ft. Walton Beach area in Florida has gorgeous beaches, there's a state park near, Grayton Beach State Park which is family friendly and also beautiful. You could stay in Destin and enjoy the sun! The girls would love playing in the white sand. This would be a fun summer trip after the cruise. May and June are good months to come. BTW, it's easier to give an injection if you do it quickly when you "poke" it in.
