The underlying assumption here is faulty. The assumption is that a job listing count on a publicly available job board is an indicator of the health of the SEO industry. That is not true for 2 reasons. 1) Many of these called job postings never resulted in any hiring in the first place. So the big drop-off in JAN 2024 was most likely due to companies pulling down job openings which long ceased to exist aka just cleaning up old junk. 2) Many SEO jobs are filled through staffing agencies who don't advertise the position online. So that number never gets picked up by any job board.
