Victis in my opinion easily had the scariest maps mostly because it’s the first time in zombies it really feels like there’s an actual worldwide apocalypse and not just zombies following the characters through different parts of the world. Like there’s millions of other stories going on at the same time as victis.
The groans you hear as Stu are actually the souls inside the zombies. They say “Help me”, “The pain”, and “He lies (likely referring to Richtofen or Maxis)”. It seems like once you turn into a zombie your soul gets linked to the Aether and since Stu consumed flesh with 115 he is linked to the Aether too.
As a modern cod zombies fan (someone who likes the newer cod zombies games unlike most) one thing I really liked was the story that bo2 had with the whole apocalypse and listening to audios of how humanity came to an end. Unlike the modern story where the world is practically normal and our story is like a secret that most of humanity doesn't know about even though it could lead to the end of the world.
Yeah bo2 mastered the atmosphere in every map regardless of how it plays. All the new maps since CW feel like you’re in a bubble somehow even though there is a literally zombie outbreak.

I always wondered what the rest of the world was doing during Nacht, Kino, Five, etc. and wondered how each event occurred decades apart, but it seems they were always isolated and no one else knew. The newer Dark Aether story is just taking it to a whole new level. Which I’m all for.

Nah, that woman being distraught at about the 15:00 mark is something i have never heard before. Shit gave me actual chills, man. I played the shit out of die rise, it was a preferable map to me, and i never found her audio clip. "The German man stopped talking to me." That raises so many questions for me. Was that Richtofen? Maxis, maybe? Did she eat zombie flesh as well? Can Richtofen choose who speaks to? Did he decide Stuhlinger was a better fit for what he wanted? I put myaelf in her shoes; all alone, in a zombie apocalypse, bombs going off, you desperately need food so you reluctantly eat the dead flesh of your fellow human, start hearing a voice in your head tell you things that might fix the situation, then that voice just stops. All alone, again. No idea what youre supposed to do, where youre supposed to go, nothing. Shit, man..at least Stu had Russ, Misty, and Marlton to keep him company. She had nobody.
You bring up a point Ive never really considered, how much time lore wise it takes to complete these Easter eggs. I always just assumed 115 messed with time so much that when whatever crew is working on a quest. It just kinda happens in like a few hours but I’m rethinking all of that
There also the possibility that the 115 distorts your character’s perception to the point where the actions you seem to control with your characters aren’t actually happening as you see them. This mechanic could maybe be canon just by lore. I never thought of this until you said that.

@@iggythakid6997 99.9% likely. The fact that they walk across whole countries with the occasional teleport means something. Stuhlinger may be the most cohesive of the group despite not being a genius like Marlton, or potentially Russman who lost much of his memory through age and 115 exposure.
Loved this video. BO2 Victis maps had a different feel to them. More horrifying maybe? They were scary, especially all the radios with people affected by 115. 10 year old me was terrified in 2013 and I still get an uneasy feeling when playing these maps today.

You can vaguely make out "He lies", "Help me", and "Kill me".
Also, I think is important to pay attention to the lyrics of each map. "We all fall down " talks the perspective of richtofen in the Aether, the perspective of the zombies, and how group 935 bind the 115 to corpses and how zombies were create. Most BO1 songs talk about Samatha and call of the dead talks about Richtofen plans to take control of the Aether.

To be fair tho, I would assume it takes a ton of time to learn info to learn about specific maps on each specific game as well as make a script. So I would probably expect to wait another 2-3 months for each video

The way I had Die Rise’s setting explained to me is that the blown up earth is in literal chunks, slowly drifting away from the now exposed core. You can somewhat see this in the Die Rise comic book art and Buried opening cinematic. Considering this it explains that the lava on Tranzit is the mantle flowing onto the surface of the Earth, and that Shanghai’s fragment of Earth collided with Province 22’s fragment. This also helps give *some* clarification on how Victis gets from Die Rise to Angola, it could have just been closer now. Another thing that I brought up on your Tranzit video is how does the SDC exist in the Zombies earth? Sure the timeline says moon happened after 2025, but this was before the Blundell direction story retcons. How possibly could the SDC exist if Moon and Tranzit were at any point meant to have taken place in the 20th century?
I always assumed the ultimis crew had been sent to 2025 (when traveling to the moon with the teleporter) and back to their time period, when back in groom lake.

Die Rise catches a lot of hate, and rightfully so, but this map always had an eeriness to it I found unique. Like an abstract horror. Hopeless and stranded in a faceless place. It’s hard to describe I just always loved it
I think they should revisit this idea of high rise or maybe even just a new map in a different high rise next to die rise and we can see the original map in the distance❤
The girl who cries about not knowing what to do, is most likely referring to maxis, as many maxis followers mention that maxis doesn’t respond when they try to talk to him. One of the maxis followers break down while drunk (I think) & says he is going to break all electronics so maxis cannot talk to them. I think the audio logs are in Tranzit.

I always assumed the radio woman was Misty, considering they have the same VA, and the German man talking to her was actually Maxis rather than Richtofen. She tried building the towers on her own before meeting the others. And I like to think that Marlton heard her message and found her first; maybe that's why she likes him so much (It would track considering they were already together when Russman and Stulingher found them)

They actually did mention the Great leap Forward but this is just the one-off thing. You can barely hear an audio near the stage on Kino Der Toten but this is only on the Wii. Shanghai prpbably collided with province because of the fracturing of the earth and all the earthquakes it would cause which would probably be severly large scale earthquakes. And the chunks of earth floating are just closer than the moon to you so thats why they look bigger

I hope you talk about the Buried/Moon connection theories when you get there. Its not really a canon thing now but its more of what the original intention for the story was going before Jimmy Zelinski was fired and Jason Blundel took over zombie's. Theres some cool theories about it that exist and its kinda nice to speculate what Jimmys original ideas were before Jason changed everything going into bo3

I really enjoyed your out of bounds vids on the CoD zombies maps. I think it would be cool for you to do the same with all the Killing Floor 2 maps. They added some neat details into those and I'd love to see what lies beyond the player's reach. Blessings
Technically the ether storyline happened before the campaign because technically zombies and campaign are connected now but it was the storyline first during Black ops four where everything got switched to one universe and that’s where they campaign is in so technically zombies happend before the campaign
115 country timeline: The first country to have contact with 115 was Japan, shi no numa. One of the radios in a previous games explains how they found it there and transferred it to the Der Ries facility. Germany was the first to make some use of it after seeing zombies in Japan. Then it was america and Russia at the same time during the custody battle of Germany.
That's only the canon timeline until we got the Kronorium/bo4 radios, then they retconned it to be the miners in Purgatory Point that discovered it first (if not earlier in the middle ages)

I like to think that China did have it's own Element 115 Science Group similar to Germany's Group 935, Japan's Division 9, Russia's Ascension Group, the US's Groom Lake and Broken Arrow programs etc., but when it came to teleportation, they didn't enough 115 (or the right blueprints) to create an MTD-like device and instead the scientists experimented on people and/or animals and used some DNA (or some other thing IDK) from Frogs to make them more agile than the average person.

Nuke town is a facility of broken arrow its the birthplace of the 🥑 and also its containment. However if he were to ever escape a nuke is set to explode and now you put two and two together and guess why nuketown zombies is like that. Also it has a large supply of 115 if i remember and its one of the targets that the Ultimis crew blew up at the end of the moon easter egg and as a result of that 115 has spread to the globe. The rocket heading for you when you die is actually the rockets sent from the moon. Ps its been a while since I watched zombies lore videos so feel free to correct me
I am in agreement with you that Black Ops 2 zombies was a huge let down at first. Yes it has aged well, but how it made us feel in the moment was just as important. Mob and Origins were the only maps that were undeniably liked by the community when they came out. However, Origins had an ending that made a lot of people mad. That’s why it’s hard for me to rate this game in comparison to the others. Bo1 and Bo3 overall just had a better experience, maps, easter eggs and story. Bo2 zombies has some awesome lore, but the actual story/journey itself doesn’t have the same quality. There’s so much lore that is honestly irrelevant, not getting any payoff or relevance until Bo4. WaW, Bo1 and Bo3 do such a great job at adding new lore, then expanding on that lore with story throughout the maps.
Bo2 is fault of too ambitious for the hardware it was going to be on, I bet you would be blown away seeing the pre alpha footage of tranzit, I fully believe bo2 would of been a bo3 situation of quality with the maps if time restraints didn't exist, is was being developed for ps4/Xbox 1 and the devs could have been allowed additional time for it to be done

The CDC Director killed everyone in the shelter, which is why he suddenly has "several years" worth of supplies.

They actually did mention the Great leap Forward but this is just the one-off thing. You can barely hear an audio near the stage on Kino Der Toten but this is only on the Wii. Shanghai prpbably collided with province because of the fracturing of the earth and all the earthquakes it would cause which would probably be severly large scale earthquakes. And the chunks of earth floating are just closer than the moon to you so thats why they look bigger

I hope you talk about the Buried/Moon connection theories when you get there. Its not really a canon thing now but its more of what the original intention for the story was going before Jimmy Zelinski was fired and Jason Blundel took over zombie's. Theres some cool theories about it that exist and its kinda nice to speculate what Jimmys original ideas were before Jason changed everything going into bo3

Technically the ether storyline happened before the campaign because technically zombies and campaign are connected now but it was the storyline first during Black ops four where everything got switched to one universe and that’s where they campaign is in so technically zombies happend before the campaign

They need to do a zombies chronicles 3 and bring the older maps into the new play style
115 country timeline:
The first country to have contact with 115 was Japan, shi no numa. One of the radios in a previous games explains how they found it there and transferred it to the Der Ries facility. Germany was the first to make some use of it after seeing zombies in Japan. Then it was america and Russia at the same time during the custody battle of Germany.
That's only the canon timeline until we got the Kronorium/bo4 radios, then they retconned it to be the miners in Purgatory Point that discovered it first (if not earlier in the middle ages)

I like to think that China did have it's own Element 115 Science Group similar to Germany's Group 935, Japan's Division 9, Russia's Ascension Group, the US's Groom Lake and Broken Arrow programs etc., but when it came to teleportation, they didn't enough 115 (or the right blueprints) to create an MTD-like device and instead the scientists experimented on people and/or animals and used some DNA (or some other thing IDK) from Frogs to make them more agile than the average person.

Nuke town is a facility of broken arrow its the birthplace of the 🥑 and also its containment. However if he were to ever escape a nuke is set to explode and now you put two and two together and guess why nuketown zombies is like that.
Also it has a large supply of 115 if i remember and its one of the targets that the Ultimis crew blew up at the end of the moon easter egg and as a result of that 115 has spread to the globe. The rocket heading for you when you die is actually the rockets sent from the moon.

I am in agreement with you that Black Ops 2 zombies was a huge let down at first. Yes it has aged well, but how it made us feel in the moment was just as important. Mob and Origins were the only maps that were undeniably liked by the community when they came out. However, Origins had an ending that made a lot of people mad. That’s why it’s hard for me to rate this game in comparison to the others. Bo1 and Bo3 overall just had a better experience, maps, easter eggs and story. Bo2 zombies has some awesome lore, but the actual story/journey itself doesn’t have the same quality. There’s so much lore that is honestly irrelevant, not getting any payoff or relevance until Bo4. WaW, Bo1 and Bo3 do such a great job at adding new lore, then expanding on that lore with story throughout the maps.
Bo2 is fault of too ambitious for the hardware it was going to be on, I bet you would be blown away seeing the pre alpha footage of tranzit, I fully believe bo2 would of been a bo3 situation of quality with the maps if time restraints didn't exist, is was being developed for ps4/Xbox 1 and the devs could have been allowed additional time for it to be done
