tbh, I think my dream home would be pretty small but the lot would be gigantic, like an entire forest all to myself with a small cottage or Belle-Epoque style house
I've got a friend that has a 20ft container home on a big ol, idk, quarter acre(?) steep hill block. The container is over halfway up the block, and she's wanting to basically hide it behind plantlife, essentially give herself a mini homestead/food forest type thing, in the middle of suburbia 😂
When we were house hunting, my husband always referred to one house as "fantasy house." We didn't think we'd ever get it. Even our agent didn't think we'd get it. But we did! I wouldn't call it my dream house, but it is his and I love him 🥰
Dimming the lights at night is actually quite helpful to our circadian rhythm. If we keep it super bright all the time, it can mess up our sleep schedule and quality of sleep, and in the long run become a stress factor that is not healthy. So continue dimming the lights Deli!
No such thing as too many dream home builds! Always love how light and airy your designs are, and I love the living area and the transition to the backyard - so cozy!
When walking out of the laundry room, the space behind the door would be perfect for a little dog washing station! If they get muddy from playing outside, just rinse them off / wash them outside so you won't have all the dirt inside!
I lived in a house with concrete floors for 2 years and never had to trim my dogs nails. The concrete naturally files them. I didn’t realize it until we moved to a house with carpet and I had to trim them every 6 weeks
I have so many variations of dream houses in sims! Usually some form of an eco tiny home with mid century styling and an art studio, thats the dream. These are so fun to do/watch 💛
I love hearing the things you consider for your dogs when building this.. the ramp, the raised flower bed. It's so thoughtful, and your love & care for them is so nice to see :)
I learned a few things from being a home owner. There's always something on your to-do list for the house. Most of it is expensive. We have a Woodstove which is cozy but it's a lot of work and messy! Don't know if I would do that again. Came with a big garden which I was excited about. Turns out I'm a terrible gardener and it's also expensive to maintain. Also, I would be very happy to downsize. I thought all the space was amazing when we bought it but most of it is just more space for junk/clutter. You definitely learn things about yourself after you buy a home. 😂
I, too, am a dim lights at night person. Bright lights are just too harsh for evening. Luckily, my husband is the same way and sometimes dims them even more than I did! Has James seen the TikToks of the guy with the LEGO city in the basement? It's amazing! My husband and I have been rethinking our own family room plans after seeing it. Our son thinks we need to grow up. 🤣😂
My mum is asthmatic and she got a bio-ethanol fire. It looks just like a log burner and has a real flame but its clean burning and no mess to clean either 🙂
@@deligracy a lot of houses where I live tend to have big finished basements with full bar setups (especially the ones built in the 70s lol) and secondary family rooms. It's always sounded pretty idyllic to me!
I've always known a big house isn't for me, so my dream house has been growing rather than shrinking 😂 My health decline so I'm currently dreaming of a 2 bedroom bungalow with a walk-in shower (a huge change from the bathtub stan I was). I'd love to have a big living room combined with an office and a dining space, with a sunroom attached to have my high humidity plants nearby ❤
I LOVE dimming the lights! It’s so cozy and truly changes a room. My daughter has a soft pink and earthy green room. She’s a dancer and has ballet photos and a cute nightstand with a soft pink lamp. Her room is my favorite during the night. Just the lamp on and some of her fairy lights. It’s so cozy and makes a difference with her anxiety (and mine!)
My dream home has gone from a nice 2 story with a huge yard, to a big 1 story with a large backyard, to my current idea of a dream home being a really fancy condo facing the sunset with an awesome view.
My best friend is super into crystals and when she came to Michigan to visit, she bought me and my boyfriend tons of crystals. One for our bedroom window ledge and she even bought him all the crystals for his zodiac. I've grown to love them too, they're so pretty!!
It’s interesting to see how a lot of us (Millennials and Gen z) have such a like for more minimalism (bc boomers love their mementos) and have a different idea of what a dream home is compared to past generations just based on the current state of the world’s economy right now. I love contemporary builds even though it’s not something I see very often in the Chicago suburbs. I think my dream home would also have some sort of modern glam element too, like the furniture that came with modern lux is my vibe and some pieces from eco lifestyle even though they are a weird combination too. Random but I love your clip on earrings. I have my ears pierced but I had no idea they had clip ons so if you wanted to fake a second piercing you could. ✨Fun suggestion: You should place down every dream home and or dream apartment you ever made for the channel and tour them and vote your (and maybe jame’s) top three.
I haven't been around much lately but the fact that you STILL bring up Hillary Duff's house tour brings me so much joy right now, it's like no time has passed :')
Deli doing all of these dream houses gives so much inspiration for sims build and when I get to make and design my own home at some point in my life Keep making the videos 🎉👍🏻
I recently built my dreamhouse in the Sims to host a gallery challenge. I was really proud of it! It was a completely off-the-grid shipping container treehouse! This build is also awesome Deli!🎉
Omg I also dim the lights and sometimes, I even shower with just one candle light. I think it’s relaxing, helps me unwind and it’s a more calming environment overall. I really dislike white, bright lighting
I have white fairy lights around the window in my kitchen. I put them up years ago for Christmas and loved the glow they provide so much that I left them. I love to turn off the lights and turn them on. There is something so comforting about them. They are LED so they use very little power.
I had open shelves in my kitchen and I loved it. Clean plates just have their rightfull places and pretty glasses too, no need to open doors or drawers. Ugly stuff was inside cabinets of course, but pretty dishes ? Out in the open, it made me so happy to look at them.
I ALWAYS have my lights dim at night in my home. I have warm coloured light strips around my living room that create such a cozy atmosphere. Even during the day I rely basically only on natural light from my windows. My brother does a similar thing. Whenever my dad visits he like "How do you see anything??"🤣
Speaking of crazy pavers, I would actually LOVE the CC stone wallpaper you made for your kitchen pack as a floor pattern. Maybe that could be cool and look like stone paving??
Yes I love this!! My only adjustment would be to move the kitchen closer to the outdoor seating so you don’t have to walk so dang far with food. I’m inspired to try to make my own dream house in the sims now!
YES! I LOVE DIMMING THE LIGHTS!!! It is mandatory for me when it gets close to night time and it is proven scientifically that it helps to relax the body and prepare it to go to sleep.
I love that Deli mentions Wabi-sabi. 11:05 I heard about it a couple years back. Until I knew about this design style I found it a lil bit hard to explain my interior design style preference. Sometimes having a label for reference is so heeeelpful.
An orchard is Awesome when/if you get delicious fruit. (Which takes Years). Then the first frost comes. Bam, the whole house is up at 2am covering the trees with tied down sheets, placing smug pots to keep them warm, then spend the rest of the night keeping the pots fired and worrying that it hurt the tree, and ruined the fruit. A memory from my youth every autumn.
Such a fun video! Love seeing dream house builds as they are so inspirational! My partner and I are currently designing our IRL dream home and I have been using the sims to help visualise how everything flows! It is all one level, I suppose you could call it "natural modern" and it will be a simple, calming, net-zero passive home surrounded by forest!
Gorgeous and very practical! Just a heads up- a saltwater pool is still a chlorine pool. A salt “cell” uses electrolysis to generate the chlorine instead of adding it manually. It’s still a little more gentle on hair & skin, though, and very easy to maintain.
It’s so funny how ddlv was at the beginning of this video bc right now I watch everyone else play sims while I overindulge in Dreamlight lol that game is the funnest game on the market rn imo!♥️
Great home, personally would have the living space be vaulted ceilings with beautiful beams and the street front window be shaped to the vault and floor to roof, otherwise perfect size and layout 😍
My dream home is more of a cottage, lots of plants and sage green kitchen cabinets, definitely cluttered but cozy clutter not messy. That’s been my dream home for yearsss
I rarely turn my apartment lights on. I like it dim. I added smart bulbs to some of my lamps and those light to the backs of my TVs so I can change the lighting color to set the tone and it's easier on the eyes
absolutely love this house! the CC is so beautiful. I think the only thing that I'd do differently is have the guest room be a bit separate with it's own bathroom, maybe event a kitchenette. - maybe like a little tiny house / airbnb. This is because when I have my family over, they'd probably stay for a long time (I live in NZ but my family lives in the US and Germany) and I'd want them to have their own space. Realistically I probably wouldn't need an extra shower in the gym area, even though it seems nice to have, but probably would never use it.
Oh my gosh I totally relate to the realising you don’t want a mansion thing as you get older! 😂 I wanted a palace when I was younger now I’m like - cute bungalow please!
As an asthmatic myself, if been looking into wooden homes, like the big log houses, they keep a steady moisture in the air, and have less dust. Brick is nice but the air is really dry, so that can be a trigger for asthma.
I would LOVE to live in an Earthship. I see them pop up on Grand Designs now and then, and i absolutely adore the concept. Especially using colourful glass bottles to create feature walls
I think my dreamhouse would be quite small, cute and cozy. A mix between modern and cozy, exclusively wood flooring or tiles (if tiles with underfloor heating), definitely no carpet or concrete. But lots of shaggy rugs, pillows, cozy clutter, giant bookcases. A lot of black furniture but with strong accent colours. I love the huge windows and the outdoor area you did, tho I would have more plain grass and no veggie patches.
Your dream house is beautiful, Deli! I would never want to live in a mansion, never have. I'm a working class gal, and I'm glad I am, I don't want to have a lifestyle that requires to have employees, and I don't really need that much space! I'm an introvert too, but understand it's generally good to socialise to some extent and go out. Mansions tend to make traditionally communal and social spaces individual (gyms, cinemas, libraries, spas, etc., and I don't want that disconnection from others. Aside from the cleaning and maintenance, big spaces also require more power to illuminate and keep in a comfortable temperature. My dream house doesn't need to be very big, just have enough space and versatility to fit my friends, books and plants, and I'd love it to be as green as possible (green power, water-saving and recycling systems, local materials, good insulation and airflow...). I like industrial, scandy, and some styles from my country. Basically, exposed materials, and a clean base that lends itself to bring life and colour through plants and your personal items, linens, rugs... and light! Although I know I'll never be able to afford a living space quite like that, it's nice to dream :').
lmao as I clicked on the video I laughed and said to myself "Deli builds a dream house like every 6 months." and then immediately you said the same thing 🤣 I tried making myself a dream house in the sims once but I gave up because I'm disabled and can't do stairs, and my dream home would be a queenslander on stilts and the game doesn't have ramps 😢 Your hair and earrings look really nice in this video btw!
I like your comment about hearing James’ controller tapping and being able to tell what game he’s playing 😂 I could do the same on calls with my bf and tell what game he’s playing or even what character he’s playing in a fps game
In midwest America, we have these little cottage kind of rundown houses right on the side of the road that are always just so cute. Too bad they are almost always in bad neiborhoods 😭😭
I love this! My dream “home” would be a penthouse, with beautifull view of the ocean.. a big terras for my dogs.. and a big open kitchen.. i love modern with a lot of collour.. most important that it would be with my fiance hahah
My husband and I are currently in the process of BUILDING our home from the ground up. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve build and redesigned houses in the sims for it!
I have built many dream-houses in the sims and I'm happy to revisit the idea again and again haha... I love dreaming of a house x) Dimmed lights are the best! Also, I don't use CC (for my own reasons), but the CC you showcase is always so beautiful! I don't mind watching you use it. I think everyone should play the games in the ways that make them happy :) That is also true for those who share their games with an audience ❤
haven't watched yet, i'm about to! when i was talking to my mom (and mother in law) on sunday (mother's day in the US), i had an idea to ask both of them what their "dream house" would be, or maybe a dream second/vacation home. i have no idea what either of them would say (although based on their current homes, i could guess what the color schemes would be). so maybe we can make the "mom/mother figure build challenge" a thing!
I loooove dimming the lights at night. Otherwise it’s too bright and I get a headache. I pretty much have all that CC so you bet I’ll be downloading that house 🎉 we just renovated and extended our kitchen. We have nice vaulted ceilings, custom cabinets, a walk-in pantry and of course a coffee bar! ☕️
I would love to se a let's play where you play your simself and James's in your dream home. I know you have done it before, but I really liked that and I miss it. So please do it again!
So beautiful build! I haven't gotten to it yet, but I would like to build one for myself! And yes, I dim the light as well at nighttime! besides just being more cozy, it should also help the body to calm more down before bedtime! So win-win in my opinion! And Deli, - THANKS! - so nice how casually mention you guys leaning towards not having kids. I love the neutral approach to it! It's some good reprensaentaion to balance the general approach to not wanting kids, or just not being sure, or just not rushing it
22:00 in my house the kitchen and living room and separated off with 2 square arches and every house we’ve lived in it’s been like that so the living room light is LITERALLY never on, our kitchen has lights you can dim so when it gets dark the kitchen is dimmed a bit and whatever light that produces goes into the living room…drives me nuts in the wintertime cause it’s 4pm and pitch black and it makes me so sleepy
I think it's perfectly reasonable to have different dream houses for different moods, but also it just stands to reason that your dream house would change through different stages of your life. A dream home would look very different from a teenager's perspective vs a family with toddlers vs someone who's ready for retirement.
I would have a lot more colors, a big radio station and furniture that's easy to move around to make space for when hosting parties, then a bunch of display shelves for my action figures and funkos. Then shelves for my movies and music albums.
I don't think I would want to live in a big mansion either. My dream home would have enough bedrooms for our needs plus one extra for guests to stay over and a decent sized outdoor and indoor area for entertaining. I would love to build something with victorian gothic architecture but with all the modern eco/sustanability technology built in and native harvistable plants for landscaping.
My dream house is also small. Less than 2000sqft. I bought a lot in Hawaii so I'm working on something off grid. I really want the entire front to be mirror tinted glass (so I can enjoy the nature views) and the first floor shower and tub to be in a small attached greenhouse for an outdoor bathroom vibe. I'm flexible about everything else as long as it's open and has good air flow. My sister bought the lot next to mine and is building her dream home now.
Actually this is floorplan pretty close to my dream house with different furniture. Currently a condo would be more practical but I'd love to have a small garden someday.
Practically, I think my dream house might be an apartment or condo because I’m terrible at yard work. But I also don’t want to have to share walls with neighbors ever again. So maybe a smallish house but with a nice big bedroom and walk in closet and a yard, but I’d have a garden service to do the upkeep. Oh, I’d also want an in ground pool. I have a temp above ground pool now, and I love it.
The more I think about it, the house I’m in is pretty good. I would like to remodel the kitchen, it’s pretty outdated but the size and layout are good. My bedroom is way too small and I’d like to have a bigger bathroom with a soaking tub.
My dream house has got smaller over time. Ever since I found Incredible Tiny Homes in Tennessee in the United States. I have tried to replicate the Incredible Tiny Homes signature home the Incredi-box, an 8' x 10' floor plan. I would love to see James's idea for his dream man cave.
Deli and James an hour apart? Yes please. I'll watch these while i workout.
Exactly what I just did!
Nice long ones for you!
Watching while I shower 👍🏻
Deli..any update on your house remodel? Been here but wondering if I missed the process
I do this too! Always prep a good watch list for when I workout!

I love how practical your decisions were when building your dream home! I think the same way when I build 😅❤
I love how much consideration you put into this build. It is gorgeous!!✨
Ugh every dream house is better than the last! Would buy this house in a HEARTBEAT. 💓
my dream house is like the exact opposite of this. dark and moody, super warm and cosy.
lmao as I clicked on the video I laughed and said to myself "Deli builds a dream house like every 6 months." and then immediately you said the same thing 🤣
I tried making myself a dream house in the sims once but I gave up because I'm disabled and can't do stairs, and my dream home would be a queenslander on stilts and the game doesn't have ramps 😢
Your hair and earrings look really nice in this video btw!
I don't do it but dimming the lights help you get tired before you go to sleep at night. So it make the falling asleep easier.
Dimming the lights is the way! Got to have the ambient lighting.
I love dreaming of a house x)
Dimmed lights are the best!
Also, I don't use CC (for my own reasons), but the CC you showcase is always so beautiful! I don't mind watching you use it. I think everyone should play the games in the ways that make them happy :) That is also true for those who share their games with an audience ❤
One of the best interior designed houses by you deli my fav!❤
My dream house, tbf i would love a craftsman cabin with big windows but plenty of elements of cosiness
My dream house is a lot less modern 😅 I like renovated old houses with closed off rooms, very cozy ❤
haven't watched yet, i'm about to! when i was talking to my mom (and mother in law) on sunday (mother's day in the US), i had an idea to ask both of them what their "dream house" would be, or maybe a dream second/vacation home. i have no idea what either of them would say (although based on their current homes, i could guess what the color schemes would be). so maybe we can make the "mom/mother figure build challenge" a thing!
I love this! I need to ask my family too
It was a delight seeing you do a build representative of you! Thanks for sharing
Wowwww! You’re living the dream already
I'm with you, Deli! I have to do a turn down time at night too. It gets me ready for bed.
I think it's perfectly reasonable to have different dream houses for different moods, but also it just stands to reason that your dream house would change through different stages of your life. A dream home would look very different from a teenager's perspective vs a family with toddlers vs someone who's ready for retirement.
Dream house builds are my favorite! Was so excited to see this!
Glad you like them!
I would have a lot more colors, a big radio station and furniture that's easy to move around to make space for when hosting parties, then a bunch of display shelves for my action figures and funkos. Then shelves for my movies and music albums.
Yes! Sounds full of life and colour!
That’s amazing! And how lovely to have family as your neighbour. I love the sound of the bathtub greenhouse. Beautiful
I think your dream house has now become my dream house 😂. Gorgeous natural earthy tones and minimalist which I'm also a fan of 😁
laundry for me will be in my master closet. And rich me would have a second set off the kitchen for the kids and linens from the house.
