No! It was a ritual for my wife and I to watch your vlogs every week. You should let Sammy record more of the in behind the scenes on the weeks that you can’t vlog. 8 hours is time consuming. Thank you for always putting time to help others out.
Wish this video existed 10 years back when I had to read this in the Forum. So much easier to visualize through this video than words from everyones comments back in the day. Nice and technical but very digestible for even a beginner at the same time.
Learn when to cut and when to boost and then ask what do I want to achieve? I recently trained myself to think along these lines. It's a learning process and even tho I'm not the best I still like to share.what I've picked up.
Oh yeah now it’s Friday! Luke It would really be great to have more of these tutorials but a little more advanced stuff. Like not all the time you have an artist like you opening their session to us where there is a bunch of beginners tutorials out there... You’re the man👊🏽👊🏽
Haha Thanks so much for listening to my favela track in the demo blog and following up with this tutorial! Shows that you really want to help us improve!
Probably it's not EQing that your mix misses then? It's very simple to use not good enough presets and samples and then endlessly be trying to fix them with effects. Or even better - not add an instrument in a correct octave, but then be trying to bring up the missing tones in the mix by trying to raise these missing frequencies.
@@AlexeyFilippenkoPlummet Yes could be. But I dont think so 🤔. Been producing for 5yrs now. But always had a problem with the mix. Even when using samples, presets that my friends use, but their mixes sound great..
Such helpful advise ! Thanks Luke! Just added a few of these pointers to the notes I had from back in your FORUM days! :) But like you say..."USE YOUR EARS", it can be very frustrating to hear that great piece of advise, specially at the beginning, but it's so true. Like pitch training or learning to ride a bike or a new language...it comes with putting in the time and practice...then next thing you know your ears/brain will start picking up on frequencies that need boosting or notching out.
Love to watch your VLOGS they are helpful and You are my inspiration, Not only mine but many others too. Just a Question how to start a great Career in DJING and PRODUCING?
Well you shouldn't. I mean if u need alot of space up there cuz ur lead is very strong u should reduce the bass in the mid highs and highs , but completely cutting it out. Only for sub bass sounds.
MrNotteaks Lolo there are a million tutorials on RUclips for that already why do u have to wait till luke uploads his ? Not hating on Luke but this is a how to roll of low end eq tutorial, title of the video implies that this is all I need to know when is not people teaching should be more responsible
There's not really a "best for festival, clubs . . etc" You'll always find fans of different genres all over the world, if you're a producer that's known for producing/performing Big Room, the venue/promoter/festival will most likely expect you to perform Big room, if you're known for producing/performing Hardstyle, the most likely expect you to perform hardstyle etc etc etc.... you get the idea. That's why a lot of big artists always say "know who your audience is and who you want to target". You can't just play a Techno set to a Basshead crowd and what not, you'll just pissed them off Lol. Hope this helps!
There is already one. He sorts the genres of his tracks into play lists so he knows what genres of music he wants to switch to. Also putting hot cues on tracks helps your djing and makes your sets better in my eyes.
I am very new to producing but i love messing with the audio effects and listening to different frequencies with the eq. This has helped me understand it a lot more, i thankyou for that. As you said Luke its all about the ear training. Thats why your so good on the decks as you have adapted the ear training from vinyls back in the day to the modern technology of todays pioneers and denons. I had this wierd fought the other day you was going to make a techno tracks as well as your first track is techno if im correct. Im all ears anyway brother keep up the legendary vibe and ill see you at creamfields in my back yard :) _|mm|_

Always seem to never get the Bass or 808's punch out with the kicks for some reason, I tried Sidechaining and EQing the differences amongst frequencies, it works a bit but never to my desired quality and to the same Punch in this video. Could it be a bad sample I'm using? Or a bad combination between a punchy kick and 808? Or what could be the reason! Would love to hear out any suggestions please, would love to achieve a high-bass/Drop in my Music!
Hey LL can you make a video on send channels? I'm confused when to should be using reverb/delay send channels and just loading in reverb/delay straight to FX chain. Thx!
Hi Luke, big fan of your vlogs. As an aspiring producer after a long hiatus (long story) and also being early 40s, the thing that I am struggling with more than anything is getting current producers to reply to my contact. I've asked a few if they would be good enough to let me remix one of their tracks and not a single one has even replied. Any advice really appreciated.

I know this is really random, but I actually could help you edit your videos. I understand your limited time problem really well. Yes, you absolutely don't know me, I'm a random dude from the Internet, but don't worry about security - I do not need access to your RUclips account nor to all of your content. I genuinely just want to help so everybody gets to see more videos of you. We could use some private cloud service to exchange limited clips for me to edit, after that I would just upload the edited video to your cloud. It doesn't even have to be the final product, if you do not wish me to get access to files like your intro etc. I can just do most of the raw editing. Under no circumstances would I release any of the footage on my own. Even if that would happen, you would find it out really soon and you can instantly give me the boot. Of course, I would do it for a small symbolic fee (I have to live and eat as well 😂). So hit me up if you're interested Luke. I have a lot of experience with Adobe Premiere and some experience with After Effects. If you have friends, who know how to edit videos, then there is no trust problem and you can take my message just as advice and maybe they can help you. Either way - the more frequently you release quality videos, the better it is for your channel. That's a fact. Anyway keep up with the fantastic music and the great videos. 🙂
