    Stan, you are a very kind man for making this video. Thank you so much. I have a 25 hour clutched nitro and love it. Clutch replacement seems to be the most challenging bit of maintenance, because of the need for the puller and having to whack it back on. Its not like cleaning the car or replacing a Piston, which seems to be much simpler. All the best and happy and safe flying Stan. ✌🏼👍🏼

    That clutch must have been running loose to get that color burned into the shoes but I don't see how you would adjust it unless you change the springs out. Thanks for the great video subscribed!

      , that makes sense. I'm just glad that AviatorPPG took care of me and got the replacement within a few days. Welcome!

    Good video but looks like you could remove the clutch without taking off the exhaust.

    • @StanBarankiewicz
      @StanBarankiewicz  6 лет назад

      Jim Thode, hmmm. I guess you could; the Allen wrench is more restricted. I like as as much freedom as I can get, and the exhaust is easy to take off and put on.

    Thanks for posting Stan. Where did you get your cover? I have a full frame cover but can’t drive with it on.

      @StanBarankiewicz  6 лет назад +1

      David Mytchak that is actually a crib fitted sheet for dust, but I have a custom cover I use for travel. That I had made at a boat canvas shop. I’ll post a video on the cover if you’re interested.

      calmmjwinter thanks!! Cost: $0. Under warranty. AviatorPPG was super awesome in getting it out to me right away. They really stand behind their gear.

    Great Video but a Clutch Unit Appears to be a Bunch of Trouble, Many Paramotor Pilots Claim that they wear out much to soon....

    • @StanBarankiewicz
      @StanBarankiewicz  6 лет назад

      randy beard, thanks! I hope that is not the case. I like the safety of the clutch and the lower chance of damaging my glider. I wish the design was much more like those on snowmobiles. I have never had a clutch problem with them.

      Yes, clutch makes issues on most of the motors

    Replacing mine now. My new clutch bell did NOT have the bearings in it already. I'm guessing yours came with them? Need to figure out how to press the old bearings out of the old bell.

    • @StanBarankiewicz
      @StanBarankiewicz  5 лет назад

      Jay Edgar yes, mine came installed. You will have to put them in the oven to get them loosened up from what I hear. Contact your dealer for specifics.

    Nice video Stan. Thanks for sharing. I'm guessing the 5 shoe should last longer than the 4? I wonder which one mine has...#938.

    • @StanBarankiewicz
      @StanBarankiewicz  6 лет назад

      Kyle Martin, my pleasure! I don't think so because the lining on the bell housing wore out before the shoes.

    • @jonathanjaffe8897
      @jonathanjaffe8897 5 лет назад +1

      @@StanBarankiewicz I believe that the 4-shoe clutch was found to be slipping too much (hence more wear on BOTH the lining and overheating of the 4 shoes), where the 5-shoe design should not slip as much, and should provide significantly longer life. My N200 is clutchless, but nonetheless, it was an appreciated, well done, and educational video! Much thanks for making it for all of us. ;)

    Hey Stan. thanks so much for the tutorial! I'll be all set when my Nitro 200 clutch bites the dust. How many hours did it take to get to this point? Just trying to get an idea of an average failure rate. Anyway....I'm off to do my training in Sunny Fort Walton Beach FL about 3AM on Saturday. I just hope I can get some sleep tomorrow night. But I'll be flying just like you when I get back. Now I can put all this equipment I've purchased to work. Got a two day 1200 mile trip ahead of me. Wish me luck! ;o)

      30 hours? That's brutal. I've got 200+ hours on my polini 130 w no issues at all....I've heard many different issues with this motor...it's still going thru growing pains...nice video!

    • @StanBarankiewicz
      @StanBarankiewicz  6 лет назад

      Larry K thanks! Yeah, but AviatorPPG has been Johnny on the spot with their warranty, so it’s not a big deal. Besides, this way I get bring a new video and get to know my motor better. ;)

    This whole clutch thing has me worried. I mean... I understand about the safety it provides but, another wear and tear item also concerns me. With an electric start, can't I just shut the motor down at any given time knowing I can start it right back up with the E-starter?
    Lastly, if you don't mind, would you give us your current opinion on your Nitro? Happy Holiday to you and yours!

    • @StanBarankiewicz
      @StanBarankiewicz  5 лет назад

      nybravest, I'll take the inconvenience and cost for added safety any day. I think I'm worth it. :) Those pictures of fingers, hands, and arms getting butchered by props are enough to convince me. Yes, you can shut the motor down any time if you have control, but when you don't have control (like taking a fall or tumble), that's when it will bite you. Also consider that a clutch system is less likely to damage your wing or risers if they happen to fall on your motor after an aborted launch, so you save the cost of repairs; helps to equalize it out. On my Nitro, I love its light weight, but mine runs a bit too hot. That's why I now run avgas 100LL, which helps it run cooler. I'm not sure what I would consider replacing it with, since the only other motor I flew was a Top 80. At the Salton Sea Fly-In, I will be trying a number of other motors. I can give a better perspective then. If light weight is the most important, I think the Nitro is tough to beat. Maybe a Parajet Maverick, is good competitor, but I need to test that one as well. Happy Holidays to you and yours too!!

    Is their a lock bolt for the upper belt tensioner after you tighten the bolt?

    • @StanBarankiewicz
      @StanBarankiewicz  6 лет назад

      stevenjolynn I believe it is the 3 bolts behind the upper pulley that locks it into position.

    What does a new clutch cost when you have to replace it? Also, how many hours did it last before going bad? Also, how hard is it to learn how to work on one of these things?

    • @StanBarankiewicz
      @StanBarankiewicz  5 лет назад

      Dreaklock, I don't know the cost. AviatorPPG gave me a new one free since it was under warranty. 30 hrs.

    • @Dreaklock
      @Dreaklock 5 лет назад

      @@StanBarankiewicz Oh, nice. Are you a big fan of having a clutch, or do you think it would have been better to go without it?

    • @StanBarankiewicz
      @StanBarankiewicz  5 лет назад

      Dreaklock, despite having to replace and extra purchase cost-yes! I want everything that adds safety for me and helps avoid damaging my wing. I think I’m worth it!! Also without it, the prop wash tends to stir up the wing on the ground when getting set up for launch.

    If you had to do it over again would you buy a clutch model again? I can't decide clutch or no clutch...

    • @StanBarankiewicz
      @StanBarankiewicz  6 лет назад +1

      Kelly Davis, yes. The newest version of the Nitro is now going to have a 5 tined rotor (instead of 4) to give it more durability. Also, AviatorPPG sent me a new one free of charge. My preference is to stay with the clutch for safety and to protect my wing. Without the prop spinning, you lessen your chances of the prop hitting you and tearing up your glider or lines if they fall on top of you.

    I see alot of guys blipping their throttle from idle and it makes me cringe,I’m always very gentle with my clutches,easy on throttle until they fully engage then hammer it.
    doesn’t look like you have many hours on that unit?
    Oh well,i hope your flying again soon brother!!!
