since so many people think its "cool" to just go out and drink, its hard to find people who I vibe with who want to do things other than going out and drinking....

Joy - it is so rare to come across people my age that don’t do drugs or don’t drink much / at all, and feel content in that.
I have always been self conscious that people won’t think I’m “fun” for not doing drugs, which is so messed up. But I’m learning to let go of that and I feel so deeply too and I know myself and don’t ever want to stray from that.
Anyway, thanks for being vulnerable in this conversation because it’s often not touched on.
    Lots of love Joy x

Relate to this vlog so much!! I feel like I've lost so many friends recently who have changed so much to fit into 'being cool'. It's made me think about surface level friendships and more importantly how to have friends where there's no jealously or competition, just support and love. Find your vlogs so comforting! Thanks Joy 🤭

Loved loved loved this vlog!! And thank you so much for being another sober role model :) I've been sober for almost a year after occasionally drinking and I just feel so much better this way. But there's totally a pressure to drink when going out. I moved back to my hometown this year after living abroad and am still working on rebuilding a friend group so your content is SO relatable

Talkin about bein cool oh mi god, that's perfect I think most of people need to hear about actual life than the things that's com out from social media...the social media lifestyle is most of the time makes by hype and it changin so fast and easily, so we need to make our special life style, not just goin to others lifestyle labels like cool, fantasy or...love ya girli

I loved your thoughts about being cool, it's really nice to hear about it in this day and age. I've recently started uni and became friends with people who drink and party a lot (I'm from Europe so that doesn't help as everybody drinks from a really early age). But I've discovered that when I drink I get so many health problems (headaches and bellyaches even if I drink a small amount) so I've been sober for the past 3 months but I can't help but feel like it interferes with my social life. I hope that I will find the right people who I feel cool and comfortable with and stay true to myself.

Hello joy, I love so much what you said. Being cool is being grounded in yourself, driven, being kind to others and make people around you feel comfortable! Yes, these are the people that radiate and attract others❣️ And I agree, with true friends you really don't need to get drunk.
I'm from Germany and currently doing my Erasmus Semester in Istanbul, and it's so nice to see you in London, also trying to figure out life. Thank you so much for your openness and sharing your life with us! Much love🫶✨

I think it was so interesting listening to you talk about the “being cool” topic. And also acknowledging that you did/do care about being cool. I think most people do care but admitting it seems uncool haha. I also was/am very aware of structures and hierarchies, especially back in high school. I think I let myself still be too too influenced by that and adjust to people too much but yeah ultimate coolness is bring yourself. Love from a fellow people pleaser❤️
