The best years of Corrie for sure. A great cast and very interesting story's that weren't left in the air. Richard was brilliant as the most vicious clever villain the street ever witnessed. He was able to hold the audience for a year.
It’s such a shame to see how poor corrie is nowadays, watching this feels like watching an actual family with a mysterious side but it’s so great and all the characters are unique and brilliantly portrayed

I think what's interesting about watching this storyline from the beginning is you see that Richard was a decent guy he was well-liked by everyone, including Nick off-screen. It makes me wonder if Doug Douggy Ferguson hadn't tried to screw him over we wouldn't have had this storyline and Richard probably could have had that happy life he wanted with Gail But that's probably me being optimistic, he probably has a dr Jeykell of Dr Jeykell and mr hyde where there was a hint in the original story that Jeykell always had this darker side to him and it took him creating a literal alter ego in Hyde to make it known how evil he was.
I think he was a swindler long before he met Gail but certainly not a murderer, although it remains uncertain whether or not he killed his first wife as well. If that was the case he would have gone three for three with all of his wives! I think he was deeply jealous or ashamed of looking poor and down on his look to other people and he was always on the lookout to make money off of pensioners who were living fairly comfortably. Not a nice guy!!

The Famous Ford Galaxy that was a 1996 model so it was older than the red one, I wish Richard used this Ford Galaxy to drive into the canal rather than the Silver Ford Galaxy that met its end a few weeks after it first drove onto the street.

Ive just had a thought, Alma left a large sum of money to audrey and he claims hes her cousin, because she died without kids or a husband I do wonder if his plan in the first entire place was to get access to that money before all the flat troubles - disnt he try it on with audrey before gail?
Ironically it was Richard without Ade knowing anything about him who put Ade in his place where Sarah was concerned and that is actually how you deal with a smart mouthed little prick

I’d just entered my first ever serious relationship when this aired, I was 20 years old at the time, I spent 2 and a half years with what turned out to be a total jerk !
