Technically, the Mulready envelopes and letter sheets were not the "precursor" to the penny black, because both the Mulready products and the penny black were issued on the same day: May 6, 1840

I have a question. Did Stanley Gibbons stopped selling stamps albums? Is it better to have leather albums or the ones from leatherette material? I see that leather are usually sold without slipcases. Should leather be without slipcase? Is leather more everlasting or will the leatherette last for as long as leather?

That hate-mail has a very 21st Century social media feel to it. Victorian trolling! 🧌
