Good to see it's still there, head down there, when I am in Pattaya, once a week. Spend about 20mins wandering round, give my current squeeze 300 or 400b to shop with, then head to the nearest bar for a beer. They find me and are all happy showing what they brought, and I am the most popular man in town
The best market by far for me is Rantanakorn Market along Thep Prasit Road, especially in the mourning, it’s massive and it’s 24 hrs, the best prices for fruit, veg, meat and fish I’ve found in Pattaya!
Great vid Trev, I'm always a bit worried about eating from the stalls, but it's often damn good food. I like the late night food that the mom and pop stalls do at the top of Bukhao outside the Lengkhee, cheap and really nice. I think Bo was stitching you up all the way along though lol. The thing is, the Thai food you buy on the market for sii sip baht is about £10 a dish here in the UK from a restaurant. Damn I gotta get back there soon mate!.
I'm looking for Frogs and Insects. Instead I get Wallpaper Paste. Sounds delicious. Lol. Interesting video for sure. Thanks for the tour, minus the frogs.😋
Hi Mr Buzzer, I thought the insects and frogs are usually sold as a snack in the evening markets.....I don't think Thai treat it as a side dish over their lunch of rice etc!
Great stuff mate. I went to a market in Yasathon and tried the frog. Spent two days in hospital. All part of the experience I suppose. I was there for the rocket festival, Bang Fai.
I am fascinated since I found your videos last days, lots of people don't realize what kind of history is there.. could you ever make a video about that. I mean lots of young strong men have lost everything there.. their money and their hearts some unfortunately even their lives. But I have so many good memories and everybody just felt like a millionaire at a certain time.. The magic of Thailand it was just truly amazing. But there used to be daily news there, websites uncensored where they showed everything.. I hope you could ever dive in the old times and history I am sure many other old timers will love to see it and that we will never forget those times...
Ain't it always the same - in a tropical country where you get pestered by all kinds of insects; and when you go actually looking for them.... I know what you mean about frog. On a visit to Cambodia I was taken to a bamboo - mat eaterie by the side of the road (you know the sort of thing) where they did edible frogs; big ones. It was delicious. Like velvet chicken. Cheers, David (Stuck in UK)
Nice to see inside that soi Buakhao market. Hella funny watching you react to the two wallpaper paste tasting items! Forgot what else I was gonna say, damn, lol.
Great video. Always struggled with markets due to my lack of thai, unless the previous nights barfine joins me, Thais really struggle with my Norfolk accent. Was looking forward to seeing how the Thais eat frogs, I love frog legs at my favourite Chinese restaurant but they look dried in Thailand.
You're the hardest working man in the RUclips sphere. In the rain the heat, glad you hired a PA should help lighten the load especially with a new bar opening. I would be very hesitant to partake in most of the foods in the market, bacteria grows very quickly in a warm environment. Food poisoning sucks.
Ive often wondered about the curries in a bag Trev ,do you reheat once home or eat straightaway ?Walked through many markets but never tried 😏You pulling faces before and actually looking for bugs to eat cracked me up 🤣The bugs are like a bar snack and some are nice , but you wouldn't catch me holding a frog let alone eat the buggers once fried 😒
When we are in Pattaya. My wife loces the markets. Tuseday & Friday out door down Soi Buakhow. And Sunday in the indoor market which is like the car boot sales in the uk. Good vidio againg. Take care be safe. Wall paper paste 555.
I'm so jealous of the fresh fruits especially fresh coconut juice. The only "fresh" coconut juice I have here is in a bottle from Costco lol. Can't wait to visit!! Thanks again for another great video, Trev!
Here's one Trev regarding UK money £50 notes in fact. Are they still accepting paper £50's as new plastic ones are coming out in UK. I remember they soon stopped accepting paper 20's but maybe its too soon yet to judge
I loved Togo to the market and yeast food that I never seen before 👍 the thing I noticed about the t-shirts there made for this people who are smaller than us
Love eating fruit in Thailand especially the mango and dragon fruit. Once had a termite burger in Phuket. Not the worst thing I’ve eaten. Not tried the wallpaper paste! Well done for taking one for the team.😀
Sago aka tapioca pearls...same as you have in traditional Chinese desserts but this is a dumpling wrapping form it should be sesame paste inside with peanuts.,..its a chewy texture just like bubble tea tapioca pearls. You will find sago in coconut sweet soup (desserts)
I use to like going to the Market twice a week, but its HOT in there ,& worst when you av a Hangover. 10.10, My wife in NZ made SARGO, ( Thai dessert ) it was green an horrible. In UK we have it boiled in milk ( you would av had it, PUDDING school dinner)
Seeing the street signs for the market got me wondering. Have you ever used something like the Google translate app to take a picture and have it translate it into English? I know at this point you know enough Thai for it to be less of an ongoing need, but just curious if you know of an app that works well enough at it. Take care.
That looks nice to eat but the Reaction was not so good. Thanks for the laugh. good to see some of the crowd back and people starting to get back. Cheers mate stay safe
Could of warned ya about them kongklen Thai sweet things , a girly friend made me 3 huge ones that she presented to me infront of all her mates in a bar. Had to battle through eating all 3 as was too polite to say they tasted like shite 😂

Not been for 11 years. I used to like going to the old market. Still have lots of snied shirts I bought and they have worn well. Good to see the prices are almost the same. Think I paid 170 a shirt. The name I go by in Thailand is manaw. I went for a pukka massage one time in Chiang Mai. The old girl asked me my name and I said Raymond. She said your name in Thai is manaw. Then one showed me a lemon and said that's you. The old girl must have thought I said my name was lemon not Raymond. They have trouble with the r letter. Any way I like it. Half my mates call me it in London. I've been called a lot worse in the black cab lol hope you find an insect stall next time. I've never fancied them. Could you explain what they all are please Trev Cheers

In Bo's defense, she didn't wander off, you left her at the drink place and wandered off. SHE had to find you as you roamed around. :-)

From what I have learned from many other videos, most bars and restaurants either purchase their ice pre-filtered and delivered on the daily or have a filtered ice maker on the premise.
