great topic! i'm in the middle of a product design myself. Your advise is much in line with what i already figured, only it took me much longer to figure it all out. if only i got to watch this video months ago...
I have been binge watching your videos and this is the first one where I have to disagree with your advice and go with what I think will work in my situation . I'm creating a product for small farmers and subscription fees will kill the product before it has a chance , and the same with high profit margins high profit margins and small farmers are really incompatible concepts. Also I'm thinking of volumes of 20 a month at the beginning going up to over 200 a month 2-3 years down the road so I need to be profitable at 20 a month or it will never grow to 200 a month. Also I totally disagree with the "simple is better" idea I'm in a area where employees are loyal to their huge families , and it is very common for employees to work for you just long enough to learn your business and then their family will use their family connections to gain a competitive advantage and put you out of business , a product that just looks bewilderingly complex is the only way I know to stay in business , your employees should look at what they are making and shake their head and say " no comprende !".
