  • A good turn out for the Gt Yarmouth airfields first fly in / BBQ , I think there was over 10 different types of aircraft attended of all sizes.
I am not an instructor so by all means talk to one about what I do but don’t copy me. I fly for fun and post the videos for others to enjoy, so they have been edited to keep them entertaining. Please leave comment and I will do my best to answer them.

Always good to see the flying as well as the building, Algy. After all, one is the whole point of the other! Hope your back is still improving. 👍😁

Thankfully my back is settling down and I should manage to do some building. Weather this weekend was not great but the Kub needed a bit of work.

It is less painful for sure but still not right. Glad you enjoyed the flight.

It was a great choice to get out and about on a nice day. Good of them to invite you too. Seeing the Stearman certainly seemed to be a treat for you. That sort of thing does an aviation chap some good.

It was very kind of them to invite me, the Stearman was a teat, it make me look with wonder at what our ancestors learned to fly in (now only a few very well qualified pilots get to fly what learners started in).

Thank you, we all need to take a break now and then and remind ourselves why we work and build. 😀
Good to here you've been up with the Rans, nice fun aircraft.

Great fly in Algy. I hope the Bar-B-Q was a good as the variety of aircraft. Cheers Michael

The food was good the company was good and the variety of aircraft could not have been better really, the only bit that could be made a bite better or may get better with use is the section of runway between the numbers and the turn off to the pad but now I know it's there I will land a little longer.

Glad N Denes is still usable - will try to get there one day! BTW, that 'racy beastie' looks like a Vans RV3 or possibly -4.

It is good that it is not being left to rot. The racy beasty was definently an RV of some sort. Thanks for watching.

You flying like its nothing. You are living what is a dream to most of us in India.

Please do not take it that I think of flying as nothing, I can assure you it is not nothing to me. I have dreamed of flying from a very young age and have worked very hard, done without a lot of things others here have, just to get my aeroplane.
That said I am now living my dream, I wish I could share it with others by having a 2 seat aeroplane but I can't afford one, so I try to share using videos. I know having lived in the Middle East that it is next to impossible for the average man to fly, here for me I got most of my flying with hang gliders (some I made and almost killed me). I do know I am a very lucky man and I hope you become luck as well.

I don't know how far back that would be but I think that might have been about the time my Father was there for his 2nd stint. Small world aviation :-)

That looked like an interesting visit. I didn’t know anything about it, was it published anywhere?

Hi Tim it was an invitation only fly in to test the waters, as they say. They felt it went so well that they will be planning future events there, so hope to see you there next time and I will let you know, if I here of one coming up.

How much longer till your motor needs to be rebuilt? what is the max wind your plane can fly in?

    • @flyingkub
      @flyingkub  4 месяца назад +2

There is no real TBO on the engine but they do have an expected life of over 1000hrs, which for a 2 stroke is not bad and even then it is just piston, barrels and bearings.
Thw max wind for take off and landing 18mph with gusting less than 20mph or with a cross wind component less than 8mph but she will in the hands of a pilot who is proficient it can be taken up to a cross wind of 12mph.
Once you are up well as long asyou can go forwards it is good, the main issue is down low the turbulance makes it less fun.
