You know what else makes the world a fun place........ the ability to work on the fun stuff you buy through customizing, repairing it, not having to ship it to a centralized location for repairs or replacement parts. For the love of all things at the very least do like the bicycle industry has done, have mechanics available. Offer courses through authorized dealers across the globe so your customers have a local resource.
Why is the nose dive even a thing make a better board that does not nose dive ever.

I have over a thousand miles on my pint and it has become a daily ride for me. It is perfect for running around my small town. I agree that it is up to the rider to keep safe.

Thanks Talon! Definitely signed that survey. I think if we emphasize the financial impact of banning Onewheels it will help them see the light. There is a significant tax revenue stream that comes from Onewheels and their accessories. Banning Onewheels will just remove that revenue stream and folks will just go rogue and continue supporting Onewheels or other DIY Onewheel-like projects. In addition, they would also eliminate one of the few US-based PEV manufacturers. None of the Chinese-based manufacturers will care as they know the revenue stream from all the other PEVs coming into the US would be missed and there will be ways to get their products into the US regardless of the CPSC.
Not a Onewheeler, but do have a couple of EUCs and I’m certainly with all of you on this, since it seems like it’s an attack on self balancing devices because you can bail if you go too fast. I know how to ride and I’m not afraid of “ejecting” and I ride way faster than a Onewheel. Listen to the device and you have nothing more to worry about than on anything else that moves. This cannot stand as a decision. I drive my car much less than I otherwise would, that is statistically much safer for everybody. If anybody gets hurt, it’s basically a guarantee that’s me and not other people. I’m an adult, a father, and a taxpayer, and that’s my choice. I’m not hurting anybody else, and I’m not interested in their opinion that they don’t want to ride one. So don’t, but leave me alone.

Excellent video! I have over 1,600 miles between my OG Pint and new GT and have only one bad fall which was completely user error. I was wearing a helmet and had only minor scrapes as a result. I now wear wrist guards as well on most rides. Understand your board, know the limits of your ability, wear your helmet, respect pushback, and enjoy the ride!

As much as I dislike future motion for their anti repair and anti modding practises. This seems unfair but it's not surprising. Afaik they were asked to do a recall on GTs for the "ghosting" and instead of doing a full recall they issued customer replacement footpads and told them to do it themselves. And we already know some of these customers are the type of people that ignore push back warnings. So it wouldnt be surprising some people might mess it up potentially.
I won't sign anything on FM's behalf but I'm just saddened that this kind of thing is gonna impact PEV's as a whole and give them a bad reputation.

This organization is so important that we have to look them up to find out who they are. Who from this organization was driving along and had a run in with someone that was on a one wheel, that’s why I want to know.
Why have the CPSC not banned and recalled all of those hoverboards? People have broken legs, arms, wrists, backs, etc by not knowing how to balance on those.
It's a constant battle for freedom these days..
Our government needs serious reform. Way to many alphabet agencies that are non elected and never held accountable. These agencies can then be controlled by special interest groups with people in key positions within the agency. With how bad the economy is now the government needs all hands on deck just to fix the economy they helped destroy. They should be regulating banks and corporations, not individual citizens.

Thousands of people get injured riding bikes every year but I don’t see them banning it.

Government has to justify their existence. We don’t need them or anymore laws. Just enforce the ones we have. We have plenty of people employed to do that, kinda. All these agencies and politicians need to go get a real job.

I grew up with three wheelers and lawn darts and I’m still alive. They also ruined fireworks.

I’ve never seen a video of a person crash having life threatening injuries on a onewheel I’ve seen thousands of videos of people near kill themselves on bicycles. 🤔

This is like skateboarding in 2002 all over again.
I googled pencil deaths, over 100 a year. They should go! I learned to ride mine at age 56, in the backyard on grass. That lasted a few minutes, then down the road I went!
Every winter where I live we lose at least one person in the back country and nobody wants to ban skis.
I have a pint and I love riding it, definitely can’t let this beautiful piece of machinery get banned. I do have a few questions for anyone that might know the answer to this and I mean this wholeheartedly since I truly don’t know….. Is there another way to possibly make the safety feature do something else other than nosedive, maybe like successively slowing down to avoid completely stopping at once, or maybe if the top speed is 16 mph like the pint then maybe bring that down to 14mph top speed and never overload the board. I’m just asking anyone that knows please feel free to educate me on it. I appreciate respectful serious answers. Thanks.

I haven’t experienced a noise dive in all of my years of riding because I have understood push back from the very beginning when learning to ride
Just because you like the product doesnt mean you should support the company, the product is cool but the company that makes it is crap in supporting the consumer and ignored its faulty gt boards to the point of forcing intervention this built up from some time.

I’ve been legit ejected off a skateboard hitting a pebble or small rock 😂. Now I want to buy a one wheel because f them.
pretty much the same for self balancing, if you hit a bump near the machines limit, it can exert enough extra power to fail, esp uphill. Ofc this is can be mitigated with rider ability to some degree, its jsut that onewheel arnt very powerful especially for how expensive they are) and are overpowered a lot more easily than something like an EUC. That being said im with you that you should be allowed to ride, only real argument is the risk to the public if you lose the board in a crash.

Big fan but this video is a little misleading and missing info. You forgot the part where the ejection hazard they’re speaking of is where the balancing system fails causing the rider to get “ejected”.
Show me a video of where it fails and then I will update this video.
I watched a video of pogo sticks this morning. Guys were flipping on them. One guy bit it not landing right. They all had helmets on. This is a government stepping too far.

These stupid devices are even worse than the previous worst idea ever - the 3-wheel ATVs produced back in the 1980s. While I respect your desire to get out and have some freedom and fun on your inherently ill-conceived device (snowboarding and mountain biking is vastly superior to these contraptions). That said, the government restricted selling those for 10-years, and it effectively killed off 3 wheelers (look up 'final consent decree') - they'll likely do the same thing instead of actually 'banning' it. What I can't figure out is why don't they put a full width roller wheel (same diameter as the bumper) on the front instead of a hard static bumper, so the front doesn't dig in (it'll roll) and send the rider slamming into the tarmac face first?
That’s kinda screwed up that you think this is “silly” my buddys have experienced it and have been injured from being thrown off and he’s very good on his one wheel. It’s a serious problem and future motion doesn’t seem to care and you kinda hinted at that. Their business is a bit corrupt and doesn’t have their priorities straight

They stopped sale of 3 wheelers in the US so don't say they can't shut them down.

Riders being irresponsible in their riding leading to death and injury is giving the Gov't ammunition to ban it. Ride it within it's limits and wear safety gear. Just watched guys jump a ramp and riding down rocks and trying to get to 25mph...and naturally all ended in injury. That doesn't help us. BTW...millions more ski and snowboard than Onewheel. So that stat isn't valid.

They need to take guns away, one wheels... not so much. What is a bigger safety hazard ( it's not even close ) fun fact: more people are killed slipping off the toilet annually than riding ohewheel. Ive got 30,000 km on my onewheels and im still not dead, ive crashed a few times, total user error.. crashing happens.

Not respecting the pushback mechanism is not the only way you will be "ejected" or nose dive from my experience with mine (for the past two years). I love my board and still ride it but it has nosedived on me out of nowhere before at very low speeds and given me some pretty nice scars, so I now just ride with full protection gear since I don't feel like I can trust it as much as you do yours. Still don't think they should be banned at all but also not fair to paint a picture that these issues are always caused by the user, just not true IMHO.
“Since people are not as athletic or as well balance as some people”…. The CPSC is a bunch of Boomers jealous that they can’t ride or they are a bunch of Karens that can’t mind their own business 🤷🏽. Literally… the fun police

Objectively they are pretty dangerous, just walking around town I've seen multiple crashes and accidents involving them, but I don't need a nanny to decide that for me.

Imagine you are on your little one wheel and you are going 18mph and all of a sudden by no fault of your own your board just stops for no reason you fly off and break your jaw on the edge of a curb and you also break your wrist as well because when you put your hand down to break your fall you break your wrist instead.
This is what they can do. They can stop for absolutely no reason at all “ejecting” the rider.
The board nose diving should not be a “feature “ at all ever it’s not safe.
P.S I am a real person and this is what I think because it happened to my husband and if he was not wearing a helmet he would have died.
Nose diving isn’t the feature… push back is the feature which tells the rider when they are riding past the limit. Every board sport has dangers to them. Glad your husband is okay.

I am fully aware that every board sport has risk of injury, I just think that the board should not be able to Nose dive, at all. I want people to be safe and there is no amount of skill that can prepare you for an unexpected nose dive. I don’t think they should all be recalled but since he got hurt I have said that people need to know how dangerous this nose dive is why is it even a part of what the board might do? Why make the board sometimes just automatically stop? Can’t they just engineer that out?

@@TalonSei Okay yea we already know that thanks for the info. There was no “pushback warning” it just did the nose dive without warning thought I explained but I guess I left that part out. Regardless even if someone “ignores” the pushback warning and keeps going fast why ? Why? Why? Would the board nose dive as a result? That is absolutely ridiculous I do not approve.
