If your canadian broker allows access to indian exchange, then you may be able to trade indian securities; when you come to canada, you will get a SIN number, then you can find a broker that gives you access to indian exchange; Also there is one thing to consider in my opinion, if you just come on student visa, and do trading that generates income - that will be considered as business and will be fully taxable + you will have to get your study permit converted; as a student only investing is advisable as day trading or active trading may have tax implications
