As a general pair of studio monitors, the JBLs would probably be my choice. The KRKs have too much my frequency emphasis, which would make them wear out the listener much faster, and it would cause the listener to take a lot of high frequency presence out of their mixes, which would result in duller mixes. Also, the JBLs have a much more clear mid range, which seems to me to be the most important focal point for smaller studio monitors. I say all of this as an owner of the KRK 5s.
Sounds like the JBLs, when paired with a subwoofer that is set very, *very* subtly to fill in some of the bottom octave, would be just about an audiophile-grade rig.
@@DSAUDIOreview Hey, thanks for your response .Last question. Ever heard of alesis m1 330 / monkey banana gibbon 5? Maybe you want to try those and make a video. No one really done that with these 2 mentioned. Thanks , happy holidays.
Sound of KRK as usual colored, but this time it's very accurate and gentle. Looks like not a bad option for typical home using, not producing music in a studio

Hi! Which one do you recomand for bedroom use? I’m not into producing/mixing, and i just want to use them for listening sessions (genres: drum & bass, techno, r&b music). Thanks and nice channel tho! 😁
Don't think so mate, that's just personal opinion though :) my take on krks is their mids are a bit muddy and their low end is boosted more than it should be, they sound fantastic to listen to music on, not so much for mixing and mastering, but again, personal choice
@@joshsmith7812 I have had the KRKs, Yamaha, 2 generations Of mackie's JBL, M-Audio's ... For Mixing and sound clearity/ quality i would take the JBLs hands down.
There's not any monitor made for one music style in specific, don't look monitors to mix rap or trap, you must go for the most flat response monitor, for me, KRK got too much bass which makes you believe your songs have a good amount of bass when is not really like that, JBL have more flat response and the waveguide helps you to be more comfortable in your sweetspot. It doest matter which music style you work, you must be wise at the time to pick a monitor for your studio and that means to forget about the music you make and start to think in the real sound you must have at the time to mix and master, not matter what style you do.
JBL, nice bass definition , KRK oversaturated highs... Maybe the position of the MIC in the recording, KRK has the tweeter lower (or near the cone of the bass)
krk sound more rich beacuase it a a/b class amplifier, its nociable, just need to develop better twetters, the jbl is clear but has no contagious, in my opinion krk are better overall, but the jbl has good energy saving because of the class D, wich will save more money in the end.
I think it's not a realistic comparison ... You can't hear the real Difference ...KRK sounds more clearly and Crystal clear, while JBL sounds more dumper, dull, muffled, hollow and basal weighty, ... I've the two Chassis and Boxes directly compared ... the best Mix ist the two Pair Boxes playing totgehet ...
kRK GOT beat up on like Ableton did pro tools ... the krk 6's came back for the title in 2021... The JBL RULE was FOR THREE YEARS ! JBL should be smacking down krk with a new release looking for that... Krk lost the title 2018 to 2021 !
No that's actually the opposite, if the speaker is already giving you a warm sound and low end/mid boost, you're not going to focus on perfecting those (unless you really know your krks, you can get good mixes with them) but the JBL is balanced meaning it's easier to hear what you should boost and cut in the mix, if you have a speaker that's not balanced, getting a balanced mix on them is more difficult because you have to compensate for that, if your speakers are really bright already and your aim is to have a bright sounding mix, it isn't always easy to go about achieving that because your speakers already sound bright, instead of being overall tonally balanced where it's easier to then take away certain freqs and give your track what if needs to make it sound warm and bright - and it'll then translate well to other systems If you've made a mix on bright sounding speakers, when it's played on other systems and less bright systems it (could) not sound good. So I'm not saying you can't make good mixes with krks but I find they're too warm and punchy for my liking (great for listening to music) but I want to perfect my mixes on a speaker that reveals flaws and weak points in the track so that it sounds even better when played on other speakers.
Josh Smith agreed i have the krks now and i cant mix .. and its frustrating like maybe it sounds good while im mixing but when i play them back on other devices it sounds horrible .. so what i’ll do is grab a pair of jbl’s for mixing then play them back on my krks !

Robert Simpson I own the krks as well. The mids are are muddy from a hyped low mids/ lows. Just bought jbls
I definitely hear the extra hiss in the KRKs, which makes the voice sound a little more audible but all the other unnecessary noise elements as well
They both are great but JBL sounds more accurate to source to me.
Source is also JBL 😂 jbl LSR305p !
