Thanks for the comprehensive review!
No worries!
Another great review. Keep up the awesome work.
Thank you. I appreciate it.
Excellent as always Ryan! ;)
Thank you Sean!
What size honeycomb do you use to maximize the cutting area?
hello, great review. during the test image, the air assist alarm was a lot sounding and the machine stops, had to constantly change the air volume by hand. I set $156=1 on my 22w Falcon 2. do you have tips about that? maybe I don't use it correctly.
I would make sure that there is nothing obstructing the air flow of the machine. Also might be a good idea to check and see if you have the latest firmware for the laser head. There is separate firmware for the laser vs the laser head.
Good review. I have had mine for a few weeks now and really like it. My cons are different than yours. I think it is too small and there is no way to increase the burn area. I hooked an old laptop up to it so have wifi and a screen - keyboard. I don't like the frame command - there is no laser indicator just the box that covers the laser. That is ok for most things, but makes it very hard to precisely position for critical placement
Can you color engrave on materials other than stainless steel?
Can aluminum be engraved with this laser. If yes, to what depth?
Hi Ryan, would you recommend this or the Sculpfun S30 Pro Max 20W that you have previously reviewed?
I can currently get the Sculpfun for ~$1200 AUD, or the Creality for ~$1400 AUD and am tossing up between my options.
The Sculpfun is expandable which is nice, but the plug and play and variable air-assist of the Creality is also appealing as you've discussed.
Honestly they are both solid choices so it really comes down to the features that matter to you the most as well as cost. I think you will be happy with either. I do like the variable air assist but it's always something you can adjust manually as well or just run different engraving and cutting passes separately.
Hello great review quite detailed. I read something about difficult to engrave on aluminium. I would like to engrave logos with different colors on aluminum. Is that possible ?
I have never been able to engrave on aluminum with a diode laser. I’m honestly not sure that it can be done. For that you may need to use a fiber laser.
All its missing is an enclosure like the Roly 10 has.
I’m in Canada, can you tell me where you found the adapter to hold the tube and all?
Hello. I'm not exactly sure what you mean but I think you might be talking about the rotary roller. You can get it directly from their website although I think you can get it on amazon as well. store.creality.com/products/rotary-roller-for-laser-engraving-machine
What power and speed setting did you use for the tumbler?
On my particular tumbler from Michaels I was using 8000mm/min at 70% power
Sculpfun has auto air-assist, IKier K1 by Atomstack also.
I have seen auto air assists but what I haven’t seen is auto variable air flow air assists yet on any machine I have reviewed. My Sculptfun didn’t have that and I haven’t tried the IKier or Atomstack machines yet.
Ikier has variable airflow, auto air assist, 800mm/s max moving speed, autofocus and Z axis with auto sinking function durung cutting for deeper cuts. Basically everything that one would want from a laser. Definitely my next diode laser.
creality falcon 2 has the ability to vary airflow output in auto-set mode, which is great for maintaining weak airflow output in auto-controlled airflow scenarios, ensuring that smoke does not stain the lens during engraving. This is a feature not yet available on other branded machines on the market.
Do you still have the free and board pattern available o went to your Etsy store and it's not there anymore
Etsy had removed the listing by accident because some automated system thought it violated their policy but they realized they were wrong and it's back up.
I need some advice. I have $1000.00 to spend on my hobbies for this year. I want something that will make precise cuts in materials that will not exceed one quarter of an inch in thickness.. These materias will include wood AND plastic. In your educated and honest opinion which laser would you recommend for me. I am proficient in the use of MOI 3d so I dont think learning lightburn will be an issue for me. Thank you in advance for any advice.
It really depends on the type of plastic you want to cut. If you are going to cut anything clear you need a CO2 laser and not a diode machine. If your primary goal is cutting a CO2 is a good choice however you may quickly double your budget. If you are cutting wood and opaque plastics while a CO2 would still be better you can still get by with a diode. Just remember that better cutting performance needs higher wattage which usually equates to less fine detail engravings. I have also found that most machines work pretty good laser wise so you really just need to look for the other features that matter to you, wifi, rotary, size, enclosures etc. This Creality machine is nice and is 20W. xTool has a nice 20W and even a 40W which does cut faster, I believe Creality will probably come out with a 40W soon. My favorite overall is called a Roly Lasermatic 10 but is only 10W so it would be slower for your cutting needs. I know this is a big long non-answer but again since most machines perform just fine it's really up to you based on the "other" things the laser can do.
@@BusterBeagle3D Thanks Buster! I too like the roly. Very helpful. thanks again.
Can gold and silver cutting be done with it
I don't think so. You need and infrared laser to engrave in gold and silver.
First problem the trolley is to flimsy. Know matter how u adjust height it falls when u remove the gauge.
