- These surprise winter sets from Lego Friends are wonderful, this one has a lot of interesting building techniques, as well as being really visually interesting. The inclusion of Aaron who is mobility impaired and uses two walking sticks is really great, and he doesn't miss out on his time on the slopes - he has a converted ski mobile!

I tend to geek out about new pieces, get excited about learning new and interesting building techniques, giggle too much and just generally ramble. This is one of my favourite 2023 sets! I love the snow in comparison to the usual beach-type settings😂
Here's a fun easter egg. The vending machine is lime green and bright blue. This is a reference to the "cool drinks" machine that appeared in an older minifigure theme called Power Miners. The same machine was previously referenced in Ninjago city docks. With how seclusive Friends feels sometimes, it's nice to see it reference other themes. Makes it seem like there is a minifigure society just right across the ocean.

Didn't expect to see Power Miners referenced in a Friends set, or a Ninjago set (granted Ninjago had their own Crystal King, much like Power Miners)

This set is soooo cute!! The slopes build around the building is so clever. Love the inclusivity of the ski chair too. I'll be on the lookout for this one for sure

This is an incredibly ingenious build. So much detail and design packed into one space. My particular favourite design details were the trees, the stonework on the walls and the slopes. Ever since Lego Friends first appeared, #BackInTheDay I loved how it opened up whole new possibilities for all kinds of bricks in new and interesting colours. That was one of the reasons I used to love the Lego Mixels range, too.
Great set. It looks so fun and colorful. The fact that there are 2 nonwhite boys here and 1 girl, you'd never see that in an old Friends set. It almost makes up for the fact that Stephanie was included with Andrea's house.
@@EvaLovesHorses The level of overreaction here is telling. All I did was point out the difference between a set like this and Andrea's house as an example. I also mentioned how the boys outnumber the girl, another thing Friends didn't used to do. We'd get 1 boy in a set if any. This isn't putting anyone on a pedestal. It's pointing out how the Friends line has changed. Saying that Andrea's house should have only included her family also isn't putting them on a pedestal. They were the only Friends home with a non-family member thrown in for no good reason.

I love that the ski equipment is finally coming in different colors. I love the Friends ski sets, WE NEED MORE!! I would adore a ski lodge, or massive wooden hotel and a legit ski mountain build. More ski cabins or igloos would be great! Maybe a snow camper? So many ideas inspired from the return of ski sets to the Friends line. I love it, I wanna buy 2 just to make it bigger and better!!!
I love how lego adds little easter eggs secluded in the sets! This is one of my absolute favorites of 2023 Lego Friends Sets!
I love how so much fits into one build. Its looks enchanting and the easter eggs to the 5 friends girls is so cutee! 🧡💚💖💙💜
This set is adorable!! The details are sending me they’re amazing!! I absolutely have to get this one day, especially since Lianne is my favorite of the eight.

I didn’t even realize the sticks were because he was disabled, I thought they were for skiing, I love how LEGO included that, to incorporate others top make sure they know they aren’t alone, and to make sets that kinda math others
That’s a really cool set! About the mini dolls the two things that bug me are Zac and Aaron’s legs pieces. I wish we got new ones but nevertheless all of their torso’s look amazing. Also I hate that Leo, from the advent calendar, and Aaron share the exact same outfit😭. It kinda reminds me how it was back in 2012-2017.

I love how much diversity Lego Friends has now, with the disability representation, the different races and skin tones, it's all so inclusive and amazing to see!

Ellie, I checked my croissant in the holiday ski slope and cafe, and it felt rubbery too! Looked it up on brickset, and it’s a new mould for this piece, it also came in the botanical garden, so my natural instinct was to check my botanical garden, and yup, that croissant felt rubbery too!
I’ve been waiting I LOVE IT SO MUCH❤️ I’d love to see you make a winter town or something like a cute toy store, house, and maybe a grocery store!???
Oh I’m definitely getting this set now 😍 I love watching you build the sets to get a full perspective on them to know if they are actually for me lol 😂 and yes with skiing and snowboarding you do wax them for speed on the runs 😊
This is such a lovely set! From only seeing the pictures, I didn't think it would be so detailed. My favourite thing are the beginning letters of the original Friends names though, that made me so emotional. Now excuse me, I have to go and get some hot chocolate! ~Wavey ;)

OMG, I can't believe I've never thought of using the brick separator to put stickers on. I've used tweezers, but it's annoying and another tool. This is genius!!!

nice set and seems pleasant to build, maybe just except numerous clear back stickers with which you've got to be extra careful.

Ah there's so much to love in this set! The stonework around the bottom of the lodge is my favourite building bit I think, or the stairs, or the way the trees are added! Lots of clever design choices!
Whyyyyy is there a spider in the snow 😱?? Do spiders typically hang out in snowfields?!
The graffiti around the firepit is such a nice nod to the old girls. Still hoping one day to have all 5 of them as adults just in the background of a build, so we can see that friendship DOES in fact last forever 😂
Aussie kids and longing for snow, right? So my partner/Martin's dad is from NZ and despite this, cost of flying there is SO ridiculous at the moment we find it hard to go back (not to mention we can never *just* go on a family holiday because we have to visit *seven thousand* relatives). Seriously it's cheaper to go for a two week inclusive holiday to Fiji than FLY into Auckland most of the time. Why can't they just build us a tunnel to the most beautiful country in the world 😩 (mmm no actually Kiwis would NOT be up for being so easily connected to Australia 😅)?
What I don't get is why we don't have those Snowplanet places yet, that are open all year around. We went to one in Auckland and it was...SO much fun. It seems the kind of thing that'd fit right in on the Gold Coast with all the other theme parks. There's one planned for Sydney, but I think it's been in the works for a loooooong time and I expect the power required to keep a place full of snow all year in Aus wouldn't be very environmentally friendly 😖
But anyway, maybe get him into nippers/surfing; it uses the same skillset (sorta? So my partner tells me) and is good balance practise so when/if NZ becomes plausible again, snowboarding is a simple skip/jump.
I hear you on having to visit all the relatives. Takes the joy out of a holiday 😂😬. Sometimes I just sneak back to my hometown to visit my mum and don’t tell anyone 🤫

Every year I get the new winter village set to add to my build of a Christmas diorama I build every year. I actually think this may fit with it.
Love this video but can you try to make a room for all of the friends characters but in some winter theme or you can make like a whole winter building and then in that building that can be apartment for each Lego friends character

I built this set also and it was very awesome to build, with like you said so so many details .I can’t wait to build the city slope version of this as well soon.I Love Your Videos and Thank You. and one more thing and I know I mentioned this before is it at all possible maybe at some point you could do a live build. I mean I know it’s long, but you could do maybe an hour or so a day.😊🙂

Hey Ellie! As a Canadian, skiing is a major part of winter, (and I'm...not terrible at it?😂) But once again, the new Friends set are proving to be the best designed of all the current Lego themes. (Lego has finally met your high standards!) I really love the snow-covered trees. I find the matte croissant to be highly disturbing!😢 But the sandwich board is nicely designed. I have absolutely no idea what those black pieces represent. (Possibly buffing heads to apply wax to the skis and boards??????)🤔 Great vid as always!💕 (Send Autumn down the slope while being attacked by a spider!)🕷️⛷️

I found out recently that lego friends is based off of friends. Where do you watch it?
I'm a big Friends fan. Today it's hard for me to believe there was a time I hated it. Luckily, that changed with my 1st Lego Friends set. It was 41115 Emma's creative workshop. I didn't stop to buy Lego Friends sets but I don't like to see that that the numbers of sets which form a subtheme become smaller. The snow subtheme from 2017 had with the polybag 6 sets. The remake has only 2 sets. Because the snow subtheme isn't my favourite subtheme it's not a big problem for me. It's is that I wish in the future of the 3rd Friends era that the subtheme are getting bigger again. Sorry Ellie and everyone else, that my comment is so negative.
Its unreal how better skislope this set is compared to city! (AND CHEAPER!). My only complains would be the stairs, theyc are very flimsy and I had same issue with stickers - they are NOT WHITE!
I don’t love the transparent background either - the stickers lose all their vibrancy.

Yes, they do wax ski. If you look on the other side of the ski you see blades on there and that how skier move through the snow and ice. That image of that boot on that sign those aren’t hike boots all! That’s image of a ski boot!🎿 Which means that is a sign of a ski and snowboard store!
I love this set, but it has no ski lift. How are they going to get up, the slippery stairs that don't reach all the way to the top? ☹️⛷️🏂
