I think this is your best video. I love how you used the cards to tell the story of the Dodger/Yankee World Series match-ups. Great cards and great baseball history lesson. 👍👍👍👍👍

Rick, I'm glad you're back. I missed your perspective, your sense of history, your easygoing narration. I alway felt sorry for Newk because he was such a great pitcher but usually had such crummy luck in the World Series. I agree that Topps outdid themselves with the design of the 1961 all-stars. And here we are, with your excellent presentation revving us up for the Series. By the way, I always stick around to the end because I want to see the cats.

Michael, I was tired. hahaha. Thank you always for your kind words. I just enjoy talking about baseball and the Dodgers.
Let's see what happens the next four games. I'll be ready to talk. Thanks again, Michael!

I enjoyed this very much, Rick! The Dodgers and Yankees have had some classic WS in the past, and I'm hoping this year's will not disappoint. As for going to the series, well, $900 per seat for up top down the line is just ridiculous. You'll have just as much fun watching on TV while texting us.

Mike, I could justify the money sometimes but not for game 1 and 2. Maybe a potential series winning 6 or 7, but I can't for 1 and 2. I'll be texting, trust me. Thanks for watching, my friend!

Great cards and accompanying stories. Much you exposed about those 50’s series I did not know. Newcombe walked out before games end and lashed out at a nearby gas attendant?! 😳. Thanks for sharing Rick and hopefully you’ll be sharing some Tommy Edman and Teoscar Hernandez cards next week! 💪🏽

Todd, I am going to make a video of this years team at one point. I'll need to see if some of the guys they got at the deadline have Dodgers cards.I want to see if Topps Heritage High Numbers make a card of Tommy Edman on the Dodgers because his Topps card is from the Cardinals.
I need to find that Don Newcombe story so I can get the full details.
      Thank you for watching!

Great video and cards, except did you need to take us all back to all those world series losses? :) Just kidding - Really excited about the upcoming series. Hope the Dodgers pitching holds up!

You're right! it was frustrating reliving how the Dodgers lost so much to the Yankees. HAHA. Fun cards to look for indeed. Thanks for watching, Mark!

I was born in 1976, so i don't remember the world series when I was young. The 1988 series is the first I remember. Im excited for the 2024 series. Amazing cards!

1988 was a great series. I went to Game 2. That was my first time at the World Series. I went back on 2017 as well. What part of LA are you from?

Hey Rick, I enjoyed hearing you recount the history of the Dodgers and Yankees World Series matchups and seeing the cards from your collection to go along with. You showed some beautiful cards and memorable players. I didn’t know Newcombe may have punched someone after he left the stadium during game 7. Crazy!
The 63 Topps Koufax is my favorite card of his, but I like the 63 Fleer too. I don’t have that one along with his rookie. I am not going to likely get the rookie but I may go for the 63. I love the story of how lonely Yogi was as first base coach in game one. He had no one to talk to. Haha.
Speak for yourself on the 70s cards not being as exciting. lol. They are for me. I love those late 70s sets. I agree with you on the 78 Guidry. In fact, I think it is visually one of my favorite Yankees team sets along with the 1980. I like the design of both and there are a lot of nice action shots. They look nicely when displayed in a binder by team.
    RIP Fernando.
    Thanks for sharing.

      Hey Terry!
I need to look for that story about Newcombe, I heard it in some documentary. May have been one of the HBO ones.
I am a sucker for the 63 Topps Koufax. I've wanted one since I saw it on the 1975 Topps MVP subset. Definitely my favorite! Poor Yogi. I love hearing all his stories.
The Guidry card and a lot of those 1978 Yankee cards are great! 1980 is nice too and no one ver talk about that set.
Thank you for watching! Catching up o9n my comments finally, Talk soon!

Nice recounting of the Yanks and Dodgers over the years. It really looks like the Dodgers are in the process of trouncing the Yankees as the series stands at 3 - 0 as I write this. By the way, if you want a Bill Bevens card, he was in the 1948 Bowman set, card #22 under Floyd Bevens. One of my favorite cards is the 1964 card that features Koufax in Game 1 of the 1963 series. I saw the '77 and '78 series as well as the '81. Many moons ago already! Nice cards and nice history, Rick.

Gannon! I am writing this AFTER the World Series so we now know the Dodgers won in 5 games. Was surprised they took a 3-0 lead, but even at that point I was nervous.
Didn't know what about Bill Bevens. That's good to know. I should have shown the 1964 Koufax card. I've had that card since I was a kid! Thanks so much for watching!
