I was born in Nelson and have memories of visiting my grandparents there in th 1950's. I still have family there.

35 years after this was filmed Nelson continues to thrive and still maintains that unique atmosphere Barlee spoke about.

I love how Mike Roberts is just having a conversation with a great storyteller. I miss good television

I'm from Cape breton ..this show came on around 4 am around 13 years ago I'm so glad I saw it a few times and found it here..I'm guessing this came on where ever it was filmed cane on our equivalent to old channel 10 cable TV .. it was low budget usually local things on that channel... I love watching this before going to bed it's a really cool show

This was filmed at CHBC in Kelowna BC, I watched this as a kid growing up in the Okanogan. The News and radio people were local celebrities, Mike Roberts was around forever, he was the weatherman, location guy and general man about town in the Okanogan valley. It's nice for me to see it again, it was a great show and Bill Barlee was a vast wealth of knowledge about BC history and beyond.

I have been in the area since 1979. I used to tell people I was writing a book called "Ghost Towns and Liquor Stores", because I had done plenty of research, in many little communities here, and most of them are modern day ghost towns, still alive.

Nelson is so so open minded that it is very close minded. Their way or no way. I speak from experience. I was transferred there for 6 years. Very arrogant but beautiful scenery

The volume is so low I'm using CC, interesting its interpretation, I'll have to look at a map to get the right names😂

Nelson is a beautiful little city riddled with hippies and drug addicts unfortunately.
