Buzz, this turned out really nice. I have one like this. My dad bought it new and it was his garage radio for years. I have since fixed it up (not to your level though!) and it is now my kitchen radio. The dial plate has the same discoloration yours has, but I decided to just leave it alone…guess it is part of its history for me. Anyway, thanks for showing me how it was done 9 years ago! :) Dan
Yes I got it, go ahead and do that, Tommy does not use the camera in water so removing the rubber under the power button is not a problem. Thanks Buzz !
I'm glad the internet threw this video at me. You did an exceptional restoration job on this radio and it was very entertaining to watch. Now if only we could get them to bring back Saturday afternoon bowling, we'd be in Schaffer City. Good JOB!
Buzz, That is one good-looking "red" radio. It really does look great. You did a terrific restoration on it. I'm envious, you turkey. The finished job makes me think of Peter Balazsy (pbpix) on the Antique Radio Forum. Peter used to restore and sell on ebay some extremely beautiful and colorful antique radios. At the time he was having a body and paint shop painter do the painting for him. Together, they came up with some gorgeous color schemes. I hope at some point you might of had the chance to see one or two of them. Your restoration looks every bit as beautiful as those. Great job, my friend. And thanks for letting me hear from my old girlfriend again. Memories - Memories. LOL Regards, John
Thanks John..hope you didn't think I was picking on you.....OldRadioAl is going to get ribbed in a future video.....All my best to wifey and great grandma.. Buzz
I'm glad old64goat recommend your channel, love the Zenith's always did whether it was a radio or tv. Your skits with dickle are funny reminds me of watching Bob Shreve when is as a kid on the past prime playhouse on Wkrc channel 12 in Cincinnati Ohio look him up, it's a compliment! The radio turned out beautifully I'm very impressed glad I subscribed. Thanks again, Roy. Ps glad to see about the E.I.B. Comment!
Your bondo repair job turned out really well. I kind of learned how to use it too watching my father do auto body repair work. It's not too hard to use, but it does take practice. And I think the color you choose to paint the Zenith was perfect. I watched your last video series on the philco floor model you restored, and you did a wonderful job on it. I was brought to your RUclips channel by John from Arkansas and you are not only knowledgeable about how to fix radios but you are very entertaining with each installment of your restoration process. You do great work Buzz. :)
@@Buzz1151 Thanks, Buzz. I checked them yesterday but I looked in the wrong place! My dial had so much rust on it that I can't see the numbers like you could. Is there any way that you could send me a copy of the photo of the dial that you used as a guide? Thanks
Nice job, Buzz. Looks and sounds great. Can't appreciate the detail on that flocking job until you really get up close. That's true beauty there. Is it particularly fragile to the touch, or is it pretty stable once it sets up?
Buzz, Mai Oui, that radio came out flocking good. Old64Goat's tutorial on Bondo did the trick. Your videos shows what patience, perseverance and staying drug free can do. Or was that free drugs? If it's the later, please send me an email of the mixture. Yours Turly, John L. PS. Your little friend can really cut a rug. I bet he could give John from Arkansas some real competition back in the day.

Turned out great. The paintjob is very good along with the bodywork.

BRAVO! BUZZ , BRAVO!
mike1946 Thanks for watching Mike
Try a salt shaker with the flocking. To make it perfect, some sort of electrostatic charging will be required.
Looks really great Buzz. I have a dial that is in really bad shape and I'll be replacing all of the numbers. Where did you get the decals?
Thanks
