- Over one month after Migos rapper Takeoff was killed at a Houston bowling alley, his parents are involved in a legal battle over the distribution of his estate because the late rapper passed away without a will. This is awful. Any Takeoff fan knows how he felt about his mother. I wish people understood estate planning doesn't have to be something you do when you're old. God rest his soul an prayers to his loved ones.
Takeoff was raised along with Quavo by Quavo’s mother. The tattoo above his eyebrow is the name Edna which is Quavo’s mom who is actually his grandmother. Momma could be her.

@@rebelr His Grandmother definitely played a role, but Takeoff's mother very much raised her son. He literally has interviews discussing her and his childhood. Quavo also refers to Takeoff's mother (his sister) as being like his other mother.

@@deniserossiter1059 He met him, he has pics with his Dad and siblings, but he was raised by his mother. I don't think his Dad was a real presence in his life. He only ever spoke of his mother.

Moral of the story - have estate planning done by a licensed attorney - ESPECIALLY if you have money or only want certain people to inherit certain items, funds, etc. It’s really sad that someone with his wealth didn’t have estate planning done, and much of his money will be spent on attorneys to fight it, when he could’ve spent a small fraction of that on attorney’s while he was living.

I’m amazed at how the pos comes out of people in a lot of families when it comes to someone’s money after they die. My mom is leaving my sister and I a bunch of money in her will. Her and her siblings own an oil corporation they inherited from my grandmother and a few million in cash. I even feel bad thinking about asking or expecting anything if she were to pass. I could care less about the money I’d rather have my mom and I don’t like receiving things I didn’t earn. When it comes I won’t even mention it to my sister. I trust her to take care of it and I won’t feel right saying hey what’s up with our inheritance.

Unfortunately, his only next of kin are his parents (including the father who may have not been there during his upbringing). My family is going through a VERY UNFORTUNATE airy and ppl who have NO relationship with my grandfather (who raised my dad from the age of 5 until 73) are legally entitled to his estate. Even tho my father and grandparents built an empire together (with my fathers income). He had no biological children and there was no legal adoption just a name change when my father turned 18.

With a Will, there are probate fees/taxes. With a Living Trust there aren't..Figure it out!! Which is better?
@@laurieann5312 Yeah, but a living trust is paid out (once funded) during the individual's lifetime. They are used for entirely different circumstances. In this instance, takeoff is dead, and It would’ve been better to have a will in place. Also, you cannot avoid taxes. During the payments, even during a living trust, the individuals would still have to pay income taxes on the amounts received, so your argument makes no sense.
