Hi Nitesh! I don’t know anyone studying Mechanical Engineering at Leeds, but I would advise you to go on Facebook and look for groups of students(/alumni) at the University of Leeds students, I’m sure you’ll find people studying the course that you’re interested and they can give you feedback! In terms of accommodation, I’ll totally advise you to stay in one! Mine did not belong to the University tho, but the majority of students accommodations in Leeds are great!!

There are 27,000 universities in the world. This year Leeds University is ranked at 86 the QS international tables which brings it within the top one third of one percent of world universities.. It is of course a Russell group university. The top 100 employers in the UK (ie The High Flyers' report which is viewable online) ) publish an annual ranking of the 20 universities whose graduates they favour most. In the real world this counts for quite a lot more than the often baffling and sometimes downright bizarre national rankings that appear in publications like the Times and the Guardian newspapers (Lancaster and Loughborough universities were consistently placed as top ten universities in the Times national rankings???!!! You have got to be kidding!!!).
For 2022 the High Flyers' list places Leeds at number 5 out of 120 UK universities for employment appeal. Cambridge is ranked at number 7 and Oxford is ranked at number 10.
As the biggest centre outside London for banking and legal services Leeds is the wealthiest city in the north of England with upmarket shops, restaurants and cafes. The university has an embracing and safe feeling campus 10 minutes walk from the thriving city centre. On and around the campus there is some lovely architecture and a buzzing social scene.
Of the UK's 120 universities Leeds falls consistently within the top three for the number of applicants. With an impressive international standing for the quality of its research and a first rate social scene Leeds will always be a serious choice for a great many academically gifted undergraduates and postgraduates. Leeds is also one of the most international universities in the world.

Both are great universities! However, I would recommend you to choose your university based on the specific course that you want to enroll! You have to see which one offer the course that fits you better :)

Hi Jose! You have a Santander Branch inside of the campus, and a Barclays in front of the campus, for instance. In the city centre (very close to the uni) there are more banks as well. At the beginning of the year, the university also provides you with a document to help you choose the best option for you!

Congrats! You are going to love it there! 🥰 I stayed at a private accommodation near the university and I know the prices have changed (I guess all of them, private accommodations and university ones), but I’m sure you can check the prices on the university’s website 😊

How many classes are there in a week? Will i be able to manage part time job and course assignments together?
I had 4 modules each semester, therefore, I had 8 classes per week (a lecture and a seminar for each module). Honestly I don’t recommend having a part time job if you’re doing a full time master’s degree, it’s easier if you’re studying part time 😊

Hi! Yes, the Leeds University Union has a job shop (Joblink) that offers from part-time jobs to internships and the University of Leeds also has a great career centre, "MyCareer" :)
