I compare Gold Prospecting like fishing. You spend big $$$ for tackle gear and accessories to catch a $10 fish. However, you never know when you'll catch the big one !! Like you said, it's the pleasure and memories make it fun. Cheers !! 🤠

you're right mate, it's all about the fun of looking and maybe finding something, never about the money...I know an old bloke who has been going out for years, gold was about three or four hundred an ounce then. Now he has a pile of it worth about 20,000. The point being, gold keeps going up and all those 10, 20 and 30 dollar finds finally add up to a decent sum.

Gold prospecting is a way of life!!! I have a creek in my back yard. I never even went to it for 7 years after we bought the 10 acres of land. I had been watching videos of prospectors and decided to go check out my creek. I absolutely love it now! I don't give a damn if I find a bunch of gold or not. I am retired at age 46 so prospecting is just for fun now and always will be! I may go get a few claims out west later but for now i am fine here. If anyone gives you bad comments just ignore the idiots! They have no clue of how fun the prospecting life is! Basically, we all enjoy different things so go do what you like and if it isn't prospecting then go watch the videos of what you like and leave us the heck alone! Some of us don't need money because we already made all we need!! Oh, I just ordered the gold monster 1000!!! Yay for me!! Next I will be buying the gpx5000! For those 2 detectors is $5k. I have already found some gold and I hope Noone else gets in the hobby so I can find it all, haha j/k!

Trolls are a sign that you have a successful channel. If you're finding lots of gold they will accuse you of salting it, if you are finding very little they will say you are wasting your time. Ignoring and or blocking them is the best cure. Have a great day.

    Awesome video!
My favorite tip that I just discovered - if you want ULTRA COMPACT, put on the small coil, and unscrew one section of rod. Attach the "stick adapter" that comes in the box (the thing that allows you to attach the coil to any kind of stick) to the end of the section of rod, and put the rest of the detector together on the one section. It all fits.
It works for me, it might work for someone else, too :)

Your videos inspired me to head out with a gold pan and a hand trowel to my nearest park. I found this giant boulder that had been carved out by the river, scooped out all the loose bits, and found some specks I could actually see!
Next I plan on buying a yabby pump. I found tons of great crevices but had a hard time getting in there. I knew my hand shovel wasn't adequately getting the gold resting on the bedrock and I feel like the park visitors would be unhappy seeing me hacking away at the ground with a pickaxe.

I've had some very good luck with the GM10x6 coil, even for coin shooting, it goes deep in mild ground. You can even pick between a $2 and 5c, the $2 has a way mellower sound and the 5c is really zippy. Still coming to grips with the GM 05, haven't used it nearly as much as the 10, but it seen to work for you and LDC and Busted Nuckles so I've tried it out but I've been nowhere near as successful as the GM10. Secure you wire from the coil.

I live in Alaska. We only get about 3 months without snow and 24 hrs of sun. Unless I plan to prospect in the snow in the dark? Lots of different terrain and creeks, and rocky beaches. Looking for mainly gold, and also native artifacts. So with money aside. What do you recommend for an all-around detector with a coil? 6 in sounds nice! How do you like the DD coils? Would like some depth as well. Lots of mountain rock here? Your advice will be honored!. I found a 7.97-gram nug just by chance. Got the fever now. I'm only worried about a bear sneaking up on me at the creek or somewhere.🤠

So many different places to go to for you Chris. Roughly how far do you travel. 1 , 2 or more hours from home?
My closest spot is an hour and a bit from home but not many choices there

Ignore the nay-sayers. They're just jealous that thru aren't out doing something interesting. A lot of people ask me the same question when i show them gold i have collected. Where did you get it? They should be asking, "how" instead. Research, practice and just getting out - eventually you're rewarded with a little gold. But that is just frosting on the cake. Nevermind what they say. You are one of the people that inspired me tho get out and get it!

    I have a gold monster.
A few weeks ago I found a good area to detect I got a few hits dug them up to find bird shot. Walked a little way along and found a pile of spent shotgun shells.
I turned around put the gm back in the truck and moved on. I'll go back there with a highbanker next time, as a detector would have Ben a waist of time.

Dammmmm mate the people saying your wasting your time only care about money I’ve been prospecting for a while and I’m not rich or even making anything I do for the love of nature and the love of history one of the best feelings is finding wild gold in my pan. And your videos are great almost the same stuff I deal with in my quest for the yellow stuff so thank you for your help in my quest

But if you go test my theory you'll find I'm right. If you find a large concentration of it you'll find gold.

How far away from your home (time wise) is your creek (are your creeks)? MY nearest placer spot is 1 1/2 hours - makes "quick trips" tiresome and gas-expensive....

Mate I like your attitude. Perhaps these people making snide remarks would like to show what they've done with their weekend. Most likely got their exercise sitting back with a beer in front of the telly. Keep up the good work, I enjoy your videos.
