Thank you all for watching! When you pair the Slate ML-1 with the Strongroom London mic pack, you can create some pretty clean recordings. Check it out here: sweetwater.sjv.io/Nky7Av
Great Video and explanation of the Slate ML1. I've owned it for a while. I didn't get the Strongroom Mic Pack b/c I purchased the Sphere DLX while also having the U87 Ai and the Lauten Audio EDEN LT-386, The Black Hole BH1s and a couple other mic that you Demo and recommended. Keep it coming AB!! Appreciate the Video Fam.
I'm going to be buying 4x ML-1's to use as drum overheads and room mics, as well as for vocals and acoustic instruments. I'm glad they are continuing to add new models, and with Acustica Lava it adds an enormous library of mics
i like what they are doing with the vocal chain emulation. when i was buying my mic, i was going to get the Townsend modeling mic but my biggest problem was that I couldnt emulate a vocal chain going in. UAD has unison technology and it doesnt apply to their modeling which is so ass backwards. It just made sense to model a mic, then have it go through a modeled pre-amp, into a compressor. so i just settled on getting a TF51 into a 737 into a distressor(which has been amazing. my album is almost finished). Im not big on these emulations because ultimately they are emulating. i'd rather have the real thing but I love what slate is doing here and if you're starting out or just dont have the money to invest into a proper chain, this is such a great option. keep going my mississippi brother. edit: get live players to play this over and put this out big homie. stop playing. the delta, at least, is gonna support!
I see. The TF51 and Avalon is a killer combo brother. Nice. I can't wait to hear the album dude. Thanks man and likewise. hahahahaha, We will figure it out, lol.
@@archiebeatz you got this. record could be tough. put it out. and we followed each other on IG. i'll send you an advanced copy of the album when its done.
Yes, I've tested it through the Apollo x8, X16 x4 and the apollo twin x... It's clean for the most part for accurate emulation of the preamps and mic modeling.
Honestly, they are 2 different microphones and sound different. Both quality is great as well. It's just about preference at this point. I hope this helps.
What's up Archie? The microphones you review sound great but let's talk about your room treatment! It's very quiet to pick up all the mic nuances without combing, reflections, or boxy artifacts. Could you give some keys on room acoustics and design?
Can you please do another video with the Slate comparisons to other classic microphone you’ve done in the past I wanna hear how close the slate is to the real Neumann 87 the real Telefunken etc singer here lol
I like the touches, the breath on the sticks and the guitar feels needs more breath. I have professional artist, from Africa base in UK, i would like you to work with him

Nice! I'm glad to hear that bro.
Which mic is yall favorite for the expansion pack for hip hop vocals towards the newer sound such as future, Travis, yeat and carti?
@@jfrosavage have u found one which fits the most?
Awesome! So you plug the ML1 to your Apollo and leave the UAD console off ?
Geez! Why is the mic pack so expensive?!
Great video! I'm gonna try these models. Right now I use the ML-1 with Acustica Lava mic models & it sounds incredible 😁
Thank you. That's awesome. Let me know your thoughts after you test them Vince!

@@archiebeatzBandrew says that TF 47 is better but TF 51 has some withdraws.
Im bout to order this thing. I have the interface and alot of slate software. I need this mic.
Can you plug directly into an Apollo and still get accurate modeling or do you need the preamp that originally came with the slate microphone?
Yes you can plug directly into apollo and still get accurate modeling. The key is to record a clean uncolored signal coming in!

Can I buy the strongroom and use with another microphone or I need to have Ml1?
I’m curious as well ? What about another condenser mic but same software ?????
@@JonRayRunawayVealMusic the software is calibrated to the slate ML-1 only. Any other mic wont model the mics accurately at all
Which soundcard did you use With the slate mic in this video?
I used the UA twin X
Dumb queeeeeestion, but can you use the mic pack with any mic/standalone? Or do you have to use the ML-1?
Hey what interface/ pre amp were u using!
They have a special right now. I ordered then watched this video. Think its 599 and it comes with the london pack. Im excited
we need this vs the sc1 do a video
I’m trying sell my Slate Mic. Any idea if I can transfer the virtual mics i redeemed with it? Or should I not bother and sell as is?
the microphone you are using in the video or VS audio sc1 which is better?
