Does anyone know if it's common practice to depart and arrive aircraft with the Tarawa stationary?
Usually it would be moving into the wind to generate airspeed. But it doesnt really matter.
agreed into the wind i was in the Navy CV-62 we always were pointed into the wind
I was in propulsion onboard the Tarawa. We always went to full speed, and turned into the wind for launches. Captures were different because all aircraft could land vertically. We could be moving or stationary for those.
