So Alyx didn’t really have a normal childhood. With the influx of Xen wildlife running amok and eventually the Combine, Eli probably focused more on Alyx’s survival rather than teaching her who Mozart was.
This is one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. No movie or game outside VR adequately captures the feeling you have here, by Jeff's imposing physical presence. I love how they make you do things you don't want to, and the "oh shit" moment when you trace the electrical grid to inside the freezer where you trapped Jeff, realizing you have to let him out to get the elevator started.
Yep. Every time Valve makes a new single player game, I am reminded just how much they've mastered level design and pacing and maximizing entertainment for the player. I'm running through the game again with developer commentary, and it really puts into perspective just how intelligent every designer at the company is with the things that they do to ensure players are having a great experience.

I'd wager most players on their first playthrough let out a sigh of frustration when they figure out what they have to do. The devs are evil people for doing this haha!
This episode must be a reference to Blast Pit from the first game. Both games have bosses that can't see but hear perfectly. And you need to descend deep into a tunnel after you overcome them.
There is one little interaction you forgot to include in the description:if you are wearing a hard hat when Larry warns you about the spores,before he completely leaves he will complement your hat.
If you shoot the headcrab, Jeff does come but you can hide in the electrical cabinet before he makes it there. There's also an achievement for killing the headcrab before it drops the bottles.
I had the benefit of having previously played through this chapter, so the initial dread of having to hide from Jeff was lessened. Still an intense experience every time I play it though!
Not gonna lie but..I feel kinda bad for Jeff. He didn't choose to be a horible monster, but..like..we squish him in a trash compactor anyway. I suppose if we had made it down the tunnel he'd have followed us, and assuming we eluded him the ant lions would avhe killed him anyway but still..poor Jeff. GREAT job on this video, very intense..got a little adrenaline rushy I did. :D

The sound that the barnacles make in this game when they are eating something sounds so visceral! In games prior, you would just hear something like an elastic tug (the tongue) and then some wet chomping noises. In this game, when it pulls something up, it really sounds like a hungry animal about to wolf down a good meal.
This has to be one of my favorite RUclips playthroughs of any game. I saw you use the word "cinematic" as a descriptor in another comment chain, and I couldn't agree more. All of the little touches - the hand gestures; the slow, deliberate exploration; gently moving boxes, putting down bottles - it all makes me feel like I'm actually watching Alyx reason through the challenges she's facing, make mistakes, and ultimately triumph. I was watching with rapt attention the whole time, and was practically holding my breath in some tense sections. Great work!! Thanks for making this and sharing it.

I didn't see the locking mechanism on the door lock. I guess it wasn't too different, just for that one part. It took me like an hour to figure it out. A bottle is placed on the floor where to stand.
Jeff was literally the only time I ever had to take a break from a game from actual fear, like I have never before or since felt the level of fear/anxiety as I had dealing with him
I have yet to see a video of some dude just replaying the level just to screw around with jeff heck I played it three times I even figured out you could let him out of the compactor and still go into the cave.
