In the midst of ragebait, polaeized political debates, the cess pool that is TikTok and drama channels, this is an oasis of compasson that never fails to touch me deeply. Your care and love for your Tucan babies never fails to inspire and warm me. Thanks man. The world needs more people like you
Her happy clicks while playing are just so adorable! Thank you, Brock, for everything you do for these lovely birds despite them sometimes being bipolar a-holes ♥
She understands. She's still an animal, so of course she isn't gonna like everything that has to be done. But birds are smart. I'm certain she can tell that what you're doing is helping her feel better.
I’m a new sub and I think you are doing a fantastic job with this bird. I know I would have no clue . She looks much more healthy than she did in the last video. Thank you for sharing her journey with us.
@@bread9173 oh for sure! I knew birds and reptiles were somewhat closely related, I just had no idea, birds had a glottis! It makes sense, but I’d never seen it before! Science is fascinating!
Is there any kind of wound care ointment (medical grade honey, Terrasil, etc.) that you could safely use on her legs after her salt & betadine baths? I'm only speaking from my own personal experiences, but they can cause some irritation/itchiness; especially the betadine. It also might help in getting her skin more supple & better able to heal. It seems like you're doing a great job with her. Of course, if dedication was all that these situations required, I'm sure she'd be dancing a jig by now! Hang in there! 🤞✨💪
Oh lizards have the same thing with the glottis! When my lizard was sick I would let her drink the syringe herself by puting it closer to the distant part of her snout/mouth
Can you give some sterile subcutaneous fluids in the inguinal (inner leg) fold? Usually for dehydrated wildlife rehab birds we will give 20ml of lactated ringers solution for a 400g bird, so 0.05ml per g. Pretty simple to do with a birdy burrito and a butterfly needle. Much less risk if aspiration and perhaps the vet could demonstrate for you
I think it's probably better she preffered the papaya if you want to get her hydrated, watermelon has a lot of water in it, but is also diuretic, so it wouldn't help her hydrate in the long run.
that's a good point I didn't consider. thank you for bringing it up. she's been off the watermelon and didn't like it anyways. but it's a good thing to keep in mind.

She is so lucky to have you even if she isn't impressed with you yet
Yeah.
You're the best man I've ever seen
She's got sweet eyes even though she tries to bite, she's lucky to have you caring for her!

She's listening to everything you say ❤

The new nest box looks comfortable and she can nest in the soft corner. She looks better and like she is feeling better, you are doing a great job.
She's a vivacious girl who is also so patient with you. I think she's already starting to flourish and thrive in your care. What a joy to behold.
She's definitely a cutie
I now have the mental image of Toucan Sam "throwing it back" lmao. Thanks for taking such great care of these sweet birds
Omgoodness, Here's hoping she is going to be OK. Poor baby. Thank-you for helping her and all the best. Sending healing from Australia.

These are actually a lot of the same products I use for my disabled cat. 👍
She is looking so much healthier and stronger I hope her legs recover pretty soon😍
I find if you look at her face for too long, you start seeing half a banana trying to swallow bird.😂❤❤
She looks better already, and the playing part seems a great sign. :)
Refound your channel on a day where I just want to disengage and watch animals and I love to see all you've done!!
the way you held her like a baby in the towel
I love how their eyes remind me of puffins 😍😍
That’s awesome epsom salt works! Thanks for the update, glad the smoothies are helping as well.
You're the best Toucan Dad! ❤
I didn’t realize birds had a glottis like snakes and lizards! That’s so cool!
Common ancestors somewhere very far down the phylogenetic tree lol

I admire you for your love for these birds, keep up the good work, greetings from Poland❤
I hope she gets better, she’s so cute
Will keep her in your prayers 🙏🙏🍀🙏🙏🙏🙏
It might benefit her to get a little cat water fountain, it might encourage her to wanna drink more if it’s moving
She's beautiful and Precious!!!
She seems to be setting good with you ❤ your such a good toucan dad
In some way she must feel better and know that you are helping her. 🥰
God Bless and Love You All ❤❤❤!!!
Would rubbing coconut oil on her beak help with the flaking? What does the vet say about her leg joints? Is that necrosis or just scabs?
I pray that this granny keeps her legs 🙏
I love toucan im proud of u for rescue them!
Amazing
Lalo being the demonstration 🤣 the clicking

Every time I see a Toco, it looks like someone took a normal bird and glued a giant beak on it. I think it's the rounded edge near their faces.
Wow she's amazing iuu😂😂❤❤❤🎉🎉
Zoomie Toucans get put in the Safety Box
Hopefully the vet can also figure out why she doesn't drink
She's lucky to be taken care of by you. I bet she's a sweetheart when she's not in pain and stress by everything
Is there a differenxe in sound with happy vs upset beak clicks or is it the accompanied body language that tells you the mood?
pitch and body language mostly!
Brock- Maybe “Float” her fruit in a thin layer of water in her dish?
You usually can find benadine in the female section in a douche. My vet told me it is the same thing.
How does she smell, on the beak?
Oh my gosh, can she survive without her legs? What would her quality of life be like? Poor little girl.
cute, reminds me of Tookie Tookie from George of the jungle.
does she have a name yet?
I want to know too.
Samus would be a great name
not yet. I'm still being very indecisive 😂
Is she bigger then Topac or is she tiny?
Hello, where can I buy fertile toucan eggs please?
Toucans are not a pet. 😂
Quartercan

Why don’t you give her a name?
