Thank you very much for taking the time to show your paper stretching process. By the way, the way you show deep wrinkles in old faces is extremely convincing. I sure would like to see a video full of close-up shots of that technique.
It doesn't matter if you use glue, but you can't use the back of the paper. I paint both front and back of the paper. Thank you very much for watching. Have a nice day.
Thanks for sharing! I am new in watercolors painting world and I have a question...when your painting is done and you want to keep it, you let it on the panel or remove it from the panel? And to preserve it, do you put a varnish on it or frame it under a frame specially made for watercolors painting?
When I finish painting, I remove the painting from the panel. Then I do another painting on the back side of the paper. If you paint on both the front and back sides of the paper, some are kept and some are discarded. Thank you very much for watching.
@@misulbu ok I understand...and with painting kept do you put something on to preserved it or do you frame it? Thanks again for your response! I follow you on Instagram too!
Hi Misulbu. Thank you forthis teaching. I have a question... This paper is thick Arches so you can use the other side to paint too. Do you think I could paint both sides of 140 paper?
Hey I really am amazed to see how talented you are. I am confused about this material you are showing. Is it canvas or a paper? because the way you stretching it and pulling, its seems so durable . Please let me know soon. I would be really thankful.
I’ve never seen this done with paper, only canvas. What type of paper is this, cotton? Is there a reason to remove it from the frame or can you just leave it on there?
It's water. Wet the paper in water and fix it while pulling it on the panel. That way, when the paper is dried, the paper will not be bumpy even if you draw with a lot of water.
Fabulous, thanks for showing this to us!! Did I see 2 pieces wetted and stapled or was there only 1 pieces of paper? Thanks for your reply, appreciate all you do to answer so many questions from us! ☺ Hugz, Tree
If you attach paper to the panel, you can paint it with flat paper even if you use a lot of water. That's the biggest difference. Watercolor pads are good, but they are expensive, so I attach them to the panel and use them.
The colors I use a lot are yellow ochre and rose madder, permanent red, brown, vandyke brown, yellow green, peacock blue, cobalt blue, ultramarine, opera, black, blue grey, violet, sap green, lemon yellow.
I use an oriental painting brush. It's a brush imported from China, but there's no exact name. They're all similar. It is about 4cm long and 1cm thick.
