Bubble wrap and poly bags for single books. Only use boxes for sets. If it's not a set go for bubble wrap around the book and poly bag. For the sake of sales make handling time 1 day if possible. I have tried 3 days, no go lol.
I HATE when sellers use poly bags to ship books. They get damaged almost every time. And many sellers will offer "free" shipping but the buyer pays shipping for returns so they end up going into the recycle bin because it costs more to return them in many cases. At least the bubble mailers offer a little extra protection.

The only books that really sell on eBay are pre ISBN so 1972 and earlier. Every book I have listed on eBay has no barcode. 95% of used media on eBay is not worth selling when you factor in everything. If I was to have an eBay only store I would focus on maybe a certain type of book say trade paperbacks from early 70s 80s. I appreciate the support as well.

Like you said in your videos there is so much money to be made with antique books on eBay. 3 day handling on eBay has treated me well. Since you have the weekends it gives tons of wiggle room! Since I'm dealing with media mail, the extra time doesn't do much.
Make your 10 listings on the day you set aside for the task, but instead of saving them as drafts, save each one scheduled for a different day of the week. Presto, one listing going live per day without even turning on your phone or 'puter. Also, there are some benefits to an eBay store but my wife and I keep a couple hundred active listings and make over $1k per month without any store ... who needs the monthly fees?
Your right fba definitely makes you lazy. Huge reason why i haven't tried ebay. Another is pricing. I get seeing what something has sold for. My question is how do you come up with shipping? Is it separate or baked into selling price? I don’t really see anyone talking about the details with ebay. Is there additional software like it is with ebay and if so what?
Just the eBay app I do free shipping on everything bake it into price. That makes it as hassle free as your possibly can. eBay app just scan or search and you can filter to sold listings. Unfortunately no easy way other than that!!
Fantastic info as usual. I don't havecan ebay store but I do list. Any advantages to having one? Also, as far as not listing anything under $20, is there a way you can determine what you buy on the run or is it just stop and check sold comps (the old fashioned way)?
Old fashioned way unfortunately but you will develop an eye for items for eBay. I just list as well I don't think a store on eBay matters honestly. I use the free listings every month. Old fashioned way can make you decent money especially if you are getting items in bulk.
Really enjoying your content mate! One question, do you think I should be able to sell on eBay US using an eBay Uk account if I use a prep center as address for the good location and source books from the US only? What would be the downside of this? Thanks!
For eBay I think it would be tough finding a prep center especially at scale that will store all of your listed items and have an inventory system in place so when something sells they know where to find it. It's great outside the box thinking you would probably be better off finding a larger eBay book seller in the US and maybe work out a commission type deal. Most prep centers just prep and send it away and if they are fulfilling sellers orders it is multiple quantity of the same item not 2,000 different books. Hope that makes sense!!
@@TheUsedBookGuy Thank for clarifying! So it seems that the only viable solution would be through Amazon fba, but I have heard that they are not accepting new books sellers at the moment? I remember that a few years ago eBay was experimenting with something similar to fba, so that never worked out?
