4 years later and here I am in the place right now in which I did this repair back in 2017: Terragaucha Restaurant, Tampa, Florida. Never did I realize the video would have 55,000 views one day. Thanks for the memories.
Please tell me about the iron… What type of iron? What did you do with it? On what materials did you use it? I would love to you to share this information with me
Great advice only wish I has heard this before I did all of the mistakes I have one heck of a bubbly wall may have to start again it’s been up three days definitely set we live and learn
Hi Spencer. We did a big 1 piece wallpaper for a customer. It has bubbles with adhesive in that have been left. Is there a way of gettimg rid of these ones?
Spencer, I’ve watched all of your videos. I’m trying to figure out how to prepare my RV walls that have bubbled up and delaminated from the particle board substrate. I’m wondering if I should remove the paper and put on a skim coat or if I should just try to re-adhere the wallpaper to the wallboard. What is the best way to handle this situation. How do you think I should handle this problem? Thank you, I truly appreciate all of the information you’ve given.
I wall ask you about this issues. firso of all sorry about my English, i´m Antonio form Portugal. I have some walls (drywall) with liningpaper. I have paint the first wall and after painting appears bubbles , just after painting. Is this normal ? will disappear after drying ?.....?!?!, thanks
Hey Spencer, I know this video is a few years old, but hopefully you see this :) So I'm decorating (first time ever) with that being said I'm quite a clutsy type, rather than pasting the wallpaper I decided to paste the wall, simply because I didn't own a pasting table or a surface long enough and knowing my luck I'd ruin the paper 🙃😂 Annnndd my wallpaper unfortunately has a lot of bubbles at a hefy size, can I fix this without having to redo everythaanngg
@@spencercolgan I'm currently running on no sleep it's currently 12pm I haven't been bed yet 😂 took it all down, the issue I'm now having is I'm slathering it in paste edge to edge but then once I'm sticking it on the wall it feels dry, I certainly hate wallpapering 😩😂
No. Get a single edge, slice open wallpaper at EDGE OF bubble, insert paste with thin brush. Palm of your hand….push into it, wipe clean with sponge. Repaint 24 later. If visible! You’re done.
This is a construction-grade heat gun. I purchased it at harbour freight. I would employ this technique in the middle of a wall as well. If that did not work, I might simply penetrated with an inch-long cut with a sharp razor.
@@spencercolgan what about inject it with the biggest needle posible?? As Mencioned before Im located in Monterrey México and I just had the problem yesterday so today will go and fix it...gracias por su ayuda
Great advice,I watched this last week, and I tried a hot water bottle against the bubble,it worked brilliantly, might have been a fluke, must be the heat.
Azz Azz I can help you out but only if you send me a picture and or a short video and send it to my email at spencercolgan@tampabaywallpaperinstaller.com
HI Spencer, great work!!! I lined a few walls, and after applying the first few sheets of expensive textured paper large bubbles formed in the lining paper and still there today. I'm wondering whether to just remove the existing lining paper before applying the next lot of paper? Or is there a way I can ensure it doesn't happen? Would really appreciate your expert opinion.
Susan, I never use lining paper. This is something new to me but here is what I would do… Lining paper should be easy enough to fix just slice it and glue it back down. Please let me know how it works
Alan H Excellent question - I did not wallpaper this - please don’t be so critical without knowing the facts - I did not wallpaper this but I was asked to fix the bubble after the Wallpaper Hanger left the bubble in the wall the previous day - I was wallpapering a special wolf Gordon Wallpaper across the other side of the restaurant where this mistake took place. @@spencercolgan you said a veteran wallpaper hanger left that bubble, hes only asking what kind of "veteran" would do that. So before being rude take that dumb ass hair cut and chill the fuck out

Sounds more like Christopher Walken
This is great- I had a few smallish bubbles about 24 hrs after hanging and this fixed them easily. Thanks!
Used this technique on my dollhouse and it worked perfectly!
Thanks for the video!!
Great video! If you get out a bubble by opening up a seam, will you ever need to re-apply some paste to ensure it bonds well again? Thank you!
We used an iron back in the day works great.good job well done 👍

Great video. Will this method work for old wallpaper thats been there for a couple if years?
Maybe. Not sure
Brilliant thank you, I’m so bad at wallpapers and paint, need all the tips😆🙏
Was that wallpaper pasted dry when you pulled it from the bottom? Was this a type I or II wallcovering?
Wow! great job! ..thanks so much for the info

Good job
Will it work on a wallpaper up for about a year?
You are the Christopher Walken of the decorating trade.

I think my old old wallpaper is too far gone for this technique.
I have heard that so many

It happened because you didn’t let the paper expand by pasting the paper. It’s probably ruined. I’m sorry.

What is the cause in the bedroom wall of wallpaper bubbles after a months?
Thanks for the words of precaution Sir.
i painted over wallpaper for a customer, used oil primer before painting.got a couple bubbles.do you think this technique will work?

If I get this after painting on lining paper would I do the same thing? The paper was fine before the painting.
Yes. You may need to repaint though.
@@spencercolgan thanks
what do you do if it's in the middle of the wall?
Would this method also work with peel and stick wallpaper?
Absolutely!
Is that a contional hair dryer?? And also do you use the same method if the wrinkle is on the middle of the wall??

Any heat my friend! Great job!!!!!
What do you do if it's glue and not just air?
Also, 3:40 I'm guessing it is possible to do it without 'cheating' ?
Would this technique work on a box? 😂
I have a box for one of my dolls that has air bubbles on the back
Is the box made out of metal? Would? Also what is the material that has bubbled up Alice?
@@spencercolgan I think it’s made of cardboard with a plastic coating because of how stiff it is. The doll can be easily be removed.
Will this work on vwc thats been up for a couple weeks?
No. Please penetrate with straight edge. Syringe with paste.
@@spencercolgan thats kinda what I that thanks!!! Very helpful videos much appreciate the vids and response
what a super technique!
How do you do that without pinching the paper?
Azz Azz
Hi. What does pinching it mean.
I try to scrape the bubbles out, but after the bubble has been removed, the paper seems to have pinched together to form a crease
Azz Azz
I can help you out but only if you send me a picture and or a short video and send it to my email at spencercolgan@tampabaywallpaperinstaller.com
@@spencercolgan ok, thanks. I will do
You could prick it using a needle and let the air get out from the hole. The prick won't be noticeable after that.
Tried and tested method 👍💙
